BasicGrey Challenges # 45 and Magnolia Down Under Challenge # 98...Cherish!

Photobucket
Hey stampin' friends! I am back with another card today.  I made this card for BasicGrey Challenges, which is, is Shabby Chic and at Magnolia Down Under Challenges, Kylie, has designed a gorgeous sketch for us to use! I will definitely be using this gorgeous sketch again, Kylie!!!

Once again we have a fabulous prize at BasicGrey Challenges. To be eligible for the generous $25.00  gift voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Superstore you need to make a Shabby Chic project and use at least one BasicGrey product on your card or creation and indicate in your post what BG item you have used. For the MDUC challenge we ask that you use a Magnolia stamp on your creation and we have a wonderful prize up for grabs this week too from our very own talented Denise, a set of her new gorgeous papers!!!

Photobucket
For my card this week I used this sweet stamp, Tilda with Butterfly Jeans. She is just too cute for words! I coloured her with my Copics and cut her out and then pop-dotted her on the rectangle mat cut from a rectangle Nesties.  I used BasicGrey Cappella 6x6 papers and 3 painted BG brads but I am not sure which line they are from. I roughed up the edges of the papers with my Tim Holtz Paper Distressing tool and then pained the papers with Picket Fence Distress Crackle paint. I am really loving the gauze that I am seeing on so many gorgeous vintage and Shabby cards out there in blogland. So, I raided the first aid kit and used some gauze on this card for the first time and I love it....I spritzed it with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist first and let it dry. I added some cotton lace trim, crinkled seam binding and I also used my Magnolia Tilda Lace border die. I pained the Prima flowers with the white crackle paint too and then added the BG brads to the centres. The butterflies are cut from QuicKutz cork material with my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and then pained with white crackle paint. I added a few half pearls here and there. The sentiment is a Melissa Frances rub-on, on a tag cut with a QuicKutz tag die.

Well, thanks so much for popping by again to see my BG Challenges and MDUC Challenges card! I really hope you can join both challenges! Please visit the DTs too and check out the gorgeous creations that they have made to inspire you!

Happy stampin'!

Photobucket

For my card I once again used my Echo Park Life is Good patterned paper...it was perfect for this colour combo. I decided to ink up a neglected stamp, Tilda with Sunflower...shame I neglected her really, as, she is sooooo darn cute, but she has got some love now, smile! I coloured her with my Copics and cut her out with my oval Nesties using the "Out of the Box Technique" and inked the background colour with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. I used this fabulous Magnolia sentiment too from the Animal and Pet Collection. I stamped it with green Memento ink on one of the elements that co-ordinates with the Echo Park pp. I cut two scalloped borders from Kraft cardstock with my MFT large scallop border di-nmaics die and added some Martha Stewart seam binding that I crinkled. I punched some MS butterflies from QuicKutz cork material and added some Prima flowers and a little bling too!

Here is the inside it is rather simple...this sentiment is by Stamping Bella.

My Favorite Things...WSC Challenge...Floral Fantsay!

Good morning crafty friends! I am back again with another card to share with you! This time I made this card for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge which is Floral Fantasy! I used one of my adorable little Pure Innocence Girls for this card. This cutie is actually from the Easter stamp set, My Basket of eggs, but I covered the eggs in her basket with Flower Soft. I also paper pieced her dress with Scenic Route pp and coloured the rest of the image with my Copics and cut her out and pop-dotted her on the Nestie rectangle.

I used this gorgeous Scenic Route paper that I had in my stash....not much of it left now. I will be very sad when it is all gone...love it soooo much! I also used some more of my new found love, crinkled seam binding! This is MS Seam Binding from Micheals that I have had in my stash forever and I just crinkled it myself which was super easy to do! There are a few great YouTube videos available if you are interested here and here. I tied this messy double bow with a button and I think it kind of looks like a flower. I stamped part of the sentiment from another MFT PI set (don't know the name off hand) on the front.

and then stamped the rest of the sentiment on the inside panel.

Thanks for stopping by and having a week peek at my card!
Have a stampin' great day!

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge # 7....Donna's Sketch....You're one in a Million!

Hey Krafty Girlz!!! This is my first Kenny K challenge with my very first Kenny K Digi Stamp and I'm totally in love...don't know what took me so long to get some of these cuties but I am so glad I finally did! I absolutely loved colouring Download Diva with my Copics and can't wait to colour up some of the other images I got! I made this card following Donna's fabulous sketch over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge!

I have been really admiring the gorgeous vintage crinkled seam binding that I have seen on so many fabulous cards lately. I spotted some recently on Kathy's gorgeous cards and I e-mailed her about it. Well, I went in search of some on Etsy as Kathy told me she had found some there and then I discovered that I had some Martha Stewart seam binding in my stash all this time....score! I also found videos on YouTube on how to crinkle your own seam binding and you can also dye it with Glimmer Mist too....check it out here and here....it's super easy and looks fabulous!

So, I made this card with Echo Park pp again and added some bling, Prima flowers and Mellisa Frances rub-on sentiments to finish it off.

Here is the inside...I think I'm going to give this card to my friend's teenage daughter for her b-day...I think she is really going to like Download Diva!

Well, thanks for stopping by and having a peek at my first Kenny K card...I think you will be seeing more as I definitely love these funky images.

Have a stampin' great day!

New BasicGrey Challenge # 24...Gingham...2 cards to share!

It feels like forever since I've posted a card. I was camping with the family at Sandbanks Provincial Park and had a great time even though I got burnt, yikes! Then I came home for a day and then headed to Ottawa with friends for the AVLIC 2010 Conference. I had a great time at the conference but I am glad to be home now and see the kids and Chris. I missed them a lot! I'm glad to be home with all my stamps and stash too, he, he, he. I was having some serious withdrawal, lol!
We have another fun BasicGrey challenge for you today and it is simply to use some gingham on your card! I hope you can join us. Just remember to use at least one BasicGrey product to be eligible to win the random draw for the generous $25 Voucher donated by Simon Says Stamp.
So, I brought just the basic tools/supplies, a few embellies and some Copics to match this BG Kioshi paper with me! I coloured these 2 images and made the cards in my hotel room at night while I was watching TV. I'm quite happy with how the turned out considering I didn't have all my usual stuff, no Nesties, no distress inks etc.

My sweet friend and BG Challenges teamie, Tara W, from England sent me a bunch of images from the Roll Call kit and some of the beautiful flowers and goodies that I have used on these cards. Thanks so much, hun. I just loved colouring this sweetie called Summer from the Wild Sprouts collection and the flowers and ribbon all the goodies are just beautiful. For both cards, I used this pretty green gingham ribbon. When I was quickly throwing stuff in my bag to take with me I tossed in a few cork butterflies that I had on my desk and this cute Making Memories paper clip. Tara sent the ticket....I think it is a Tim Holtz ticket.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my cards for the BG Challenge. I can't wait to see your gingham cards and make sure you pop over to the BG Challenges blog and see the beautiful creations by the BG DT.

Whiff of Joy Challenge # 82...A fab Sketch by Kim...Lazy Summer Days!

Good morning! It is time for another fun challenge over at the Whiff Of Joy Challenge blog. This week Kim has designed the most beautiful sketch for us to play with! I really hope you can join us...just one rule though, you must use a Whiff Of Joy image for the challenge!
I was super excited to ink up this sweet image of Willow Reading from the WOJ June Kit all the stamps and sentiments in this set are fab but this Willow is my fave! I thought she would look good sitting on the rose swing from the WOJ Wedding collection, like she is in the garden reading! I coloured her with my Copics and cut the image out with my long rectangle Nestie. I inked the background with Spun Sugar distress inks.
I made the card 6x6 from Bazzill cardstock and used BoBunny Jazmyne papers that are so sparkly and beautiful...just love the colours in this collection! For embellishments I added Prima flowers and bling, one BG fabric brad and punched my MS butterfly punch from QuicKutz cork material. I stamped the sentiment with Memento ink on a QK tag cut form BG paper.

Here is the inside..the sentiments on the QK tags are Kimmie's Beachy sentiments and the word friend is from a clear stamp set that I have had kickn' around in my stash for a while...it actually said "friends" I just didn't ink up the "s".

Well, I am really happy with how this card turned out with Kim's gorgeous sketch to inspire me and I love this Willow to bits. I know I'm going to get a lot of use of her...she is soooooo sweet!
I hope you can join us and I hope you can take a few minutes to pop over the WOJ Challenge blog and see all the stunning creations from the DT! You will be sooooo inspired to join to us!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Just Magnolia #60...Tilda In the Garden!!!

Good morning crafty friends! I played in my craft room quite a bit this weekend and I made this card for the Just Magnolia Challenge...it sounded like a great theme...In the Garden...I just couldn't resist playing along! I decided to use this sweet Tilda picking strawberries from her vegetable garden and I used the Magnolia spring fence to make a little scene.
So, I'm not a gardener at all but my Dad sure is...boy, does he love his garden! He was at my house the other day and said "awk, I best get home to make me tae" (with his Irish accent I must add) and then he says with a sly look on his face "me compost tae, that is! I got the recipe off the Internet." lol! Well, I think that is just too funny! I didn't even know there was such a thing as compost tea...did you!? Well, get this, my Mum informs me he uses her old pantyhose to strain it through, rofl! Sounds like too much work to me,lol!
Well, enough story telling...now about this card...I used some new October Afternoon papers from Scrappin' Great Deals and I am soooooo in love with them. They are just gorgeous and so fun to work with! I added some eyelet trim that I picked up at a quaint little sewing shop on my travels to Lindsay, some Prima flowers with gems and I punched MS butterflies from QuicKutz cork material.

I coloured Tilda with my Copics, of course, and cut the image out with my Nesties and inked the background with Tumbled Glass and Old Paper Distress inks. The Garden Notes sentiment is from Catslife Press and the other sentiment is from Stamping Bella and is stamped on a QK tag.

Here is the inside...I used a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sentiment from Kimmie's Beachy sentiment set!
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I am off to make me a tea but not compost tea, that is for sure, smile!
Hope you have a stampin' great day!

MFT GDT Challenge...What a Happy Day!

Hey friends! Just a really quick post tonight to share this card I whipped up at the 11th hour for the MFT GDT challenge at Splitcoast Stampers and I 'm not sure I even made it in time or that I really even have a chance but it was fun to play along anyways! I thought the theme "some like it hot" sounded like a lot of fun too and it would be a good opportunity to use some of my MFT "hot" new goodies.

I am loving the "hot" weather we are having right now and I have decided to put in a bit of a garden even though I don't have a green thumb...but this is going to mean that I have to remember to water the green stuff that we've planted, he, he, he! So I thought I would use this little PI Girl watering her garden. Doesn't she look like she is whistling in the garden...too cute. I paper pieced her dress with a portion of the cloud paper from the pad and coloured her in with my Copics. I added Glaze pen to her red patten shoes and the water in the can and sprinkling out of the can. I also added two little red pearls to her shoes.

I decided to finally cut up some of this gorgeous and whimsical DCWV paper pad called Songbird and I love "hot" red...it's my fave colour...this pp was perfect!!! I cut the grass with the new Die-namics grass die and I really like that you basically get two cuts as you can use the negative as well...that's what I have done here. I just love my new large scalloped edge Die-namics die from MFT. The sentiment is from the MFT What a Day sentiment set and the beautiful twill tape is MFT too.
Here is the inside!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Just Magnolia #56...The Princess has Spoken!

Hey crafty friends! Hot enough for ya!? We are having a heat wave here in Ontario, that is for sure! It was 31 degrees C today, record breaking temps for this time of year! Looks like we are in for a hot summer! But hold on, it's still technically, spring...well, that's just fine with me!!!
Well, tonight I wanted to share this easel desktop calendar I made for ME, ME, ME...yes, little ol' ME, he, he, he, and I'm going to put it on my desk at work! I made it with the fabulous sketch that the uber-talented, Jane, designed for Just Magnolia challenge this week!

Now why has it taken me sooooo long to ink up sweet Tilda with Apple!? Did you notice she has a striking resemblance to my favourite Princess, Snow White!? Well, I just had to colour her up just like Snow White!!! I used my Copics and I added some glaze pen to her shoes and the apple. She is just toooooo cute for words...love her to bits!!! I used this yummy Cosmo Cricket paper from stash...oh, I just love this paper! My dear sweet friend and BG DT member Tara W sent me a couple of these fab mini calendars and the perfect little apple charm is from my other dear sweet friend and BG DT boss, smile, Martine!

And I have been saving this great Melissa Frances rub-on too...yes, I think I can totally be a "princess" now and then...so how fitting is this sentiment...I know my hubby, Chris and my Mom would say this suits me to a T, smile! I'm loving my new MS butterfly punch...getting lots of use and of course I used some American Crafts ribbon and Prima flowers and Dollar store roses.
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!!!
Hugs,
