I've been spending the long weekend stamping and making cards and listening to my fave radio station, BOOM FM! It's a Totally 80's long weekend...all the sweet OLD SCHOOL tunes they are playing inspired me to pull out this FUN LLD Accent It - Cassette Tape Die-namics and the LLD Journal It - Playlist Stamp set and made quick work of this Rockin' Birthday card!

SO, I cracked open my BasicGrey Hey Boy 6x6 paper pad and matted with MFT Replenishments Hot Fudge, Orange Fizz and Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock. I also cut the LLD Accent It - Cassette Tape Die-namics from Orange Fizz and Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock. I stamped the label from the Journal It - Playlist Stamp set with Kraft Premium Dye Ink. I layered the Cassette Tape over a Gift Card Pocket cut from Hot Fudge Heavyweight Card Stock with the Gift Card Pocket - Horizontal Die-namics...the perfect place to hide a iTunes card.  I decided to replace the scalloped border that the sketch calls for with the Chevron Stripes Border Die-namics...it's a more masculine and I thought it looked like sound waves and was more in keeping with the music theme of this card.

 photo MFTGUESTDT0413_edited-2RS4_zpsd699e544.jpg

I stamped a sentiment from the LLD Journal It - Playlist Stamp set on the negative portion from the label of the Cassette and I also stamped the word "EPIC" on that negative piece and the used the "cut and re-cut" technique to make it fit the sentiment. I pierced a hole in it and tied it to the button with Hemp cord.
 photo MFTGUESTDT0413C_edited-1RS3_zpsa5248d9f.jpg

Here is the inside...I stamped the "Old School" sentiment on that same negative portion that comes out of the label of the LLD Accent It - Cassette Tape Die-namics and again I cut it down to fit the size of the sentiment. I also stamped another sentiment from the LLD Journal It - Playlist Stamp set on the Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock on the Sweet Stack Labels Die-namics.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card with the great sketch that we have this month for the MFT Guest DT Contest. I hope you can join the MFT March Guest Designer Contest for a change at a prize value over $200. Remember you have until Sunday , April 7 at NOON EST to enter!!! Good Luck!

I used this month's fabulous sketch and paired it up with the super NEW cute a´ la modes Cowboy at Heart! So, I made a card with this great sketch and I inked up this cutie, a´ la modes, The Rainbow Will Come. I coloured her up with my Copics and did some paper piecing. I paired her with this sunny and happy Authentique paper called Delightful! I used the Ticket Tab Die-namics as per the sketch but used the long side so that it would fit the sentiment from the ALM The Rainbow will Come stamp set. I also used the Open Scallop Border Die-namics and the Plentiful Petals Die-namics to make this pretty, pretty flower.

Photobucket
Here is the inside of my card...I stamped the ALM The Rainbow will Come girl again and the other sentiment that comes in the set. I used the Well Worn Label Die-namics and the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics for the sentiment. Well, I couldn't pass up the chance to make a card with this fabulous sketch and I needed to make a Thank You card for my daughter Hannah, to give to a sweet lady at our Church.  Mrs. Deal has been working very hard to prepare my daughter and all the grade 7 students in our Parish for their up-coming Confirmation and I thought this sweet Pure Innocence Precious Lamb, Where Flowers Bloom set would be perfect for this card! I also had a new BasicGrey paper pad to crack open called What's Up, and as always, I LOOOVE it...I'm such a hopeless BG addict!

My Favorite Things Stamps...January GDT Contest & MFTWSC52!

Photobucket
Hey stampin' friends! It is good to be blogging again! This is my first post for 2012...Whoo hoo! We went to Disneyland in California for the Christmas holiday and just got back on 30th! It is SO good to be home! We had a good time but a few things didn't go as planned and well, it wasn't the best vacation ever...just okay!  Well, I missed stamping and making cards so I thought I would get inky and join the MFT January Guest Designer Contest! The challenge is Paper Piecing and I LOVE to paper piece!

I was inspired by this sweet Echo Park 6x6 paper pack called Country Drive and thought it would be fun to make 5 coordinating Valentines. The papers had cute little ladybugs, bees, butterflies and birdies on them so I pulled out 5 different Pure Innocence stamp sets that co-ordinated with the patterned papers and I paper pieced all the PI Girls. Just to warn you this post is rather long as there are lots of pics of all 5 cards.

I also took the opportunity to play along with the last sketch of 2011 for the MFTWSC challenge. The first card, Bee Mine, is using the MFTWSC52. I also used some other sketches that I didn't get a chance to use this past year. MFT is having a fun contest over at Splitcoast Stampers MFT Forum too. If you have made 1-52 cards with the 2011 MFTWSC sketches and posted them on Splitcoast then you should register, HERE,  in the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge - End of Year PARTY!

Photobucket
So for the first card, as I said, I used the MFTWSC sketch 52. I paper pieced this sweet Honey Bee and also coloured some parts of the patterned paper with my Copics. I used the Mini- Pennants Die-namics and the Die from the First Class Friend Stamps and Die-namics set.
Photobucket
Here is the inside....very simple.
Photobucket
On this card I used Ladybug and matched her up with the ladybug papers in the Echo Park paper pack. I used the Double Scalloped Border Die-namics and the File Tab Die-namics.
I paper pieced the ladybug, coloured in her spots with my Copics and layered her wings for some extra dimension.
Photobucket
Here is the inside.

Photobucket
For this card I used Pure Innocence Butterfly Kisses stamp set. I paper pieced her body suit and wings and layered the wings and bent up the edges for some dimension.  I used MFTWSC Sketch # 51 for this card.

Photobucket
I stamped the sentiment on kraft cardstock cut with the Bracket Tab Die-namics and used my Simply Scalloped border Die-nmaics.
Photobucket
Here is the inside.

Photobucket
For card # 4 I used PI set called You're So Tweet. I paper pieced her and colourd her with my Copics.  I made this card following MFTWSC Sketch # 26!
Photobucket
I used the Decorative Doily Die-namics and stamped the sentiment on kraft cardstock cut with the ribbon die from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics.
Photobucket
This is the inside of the card.

Photobucket
And for the last card in the set. I used PI Feeling Froggy....love her to bits! I paper pieced her and gave her green jeans....how fun is that!!!! I Stamped her and the wee froggy and masked them and used the flowers from the Mud Buddies PI Set. I cut the image with my Oval Nesties, left the image in the die and inked with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and Old Paper Distress ink. I made this card following MFTWSC Sketch # 27!
Photobucket
I stamped the little froggy on the natural Twill tape again like I did on a previous card...love how this looks! I also used the speech bubbles from the Say What Die-namics set. I stamped "I Love You" from the Ladybug Set on one speech bubble and the word "Toad-ally" from one of the sentiments in the Feeling Froggy set on the smaller speech bubble.
Photobucket
and here is the inside!

Well, I hope you survived that post...rather lengthy, I know, sorry! Thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at all my Paper Pieced Valentine cards that I made for the January MFT Guest Designer Contest! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for this one, smile!

Big Hugs,

My Favorite Things Stamps...WSC # 43 & November 2011 GDT Contest....Hey, Pumpkin!

Photobucket
Hello stampin' friends! I hope you are having fun with the last minute preparations for Halloween. We have been doing some pumpkin carving and Hannah still hasn't decided on a costume...eeek!

Well, I wanted to use this gorgeous My Minds Eye Halloween paper, Mischievous, before Halloween is over. I teamed it up with this absolutely adorable Pure Innocence stamp set from My Favorite Things, Pumpkin Patch Girl. When I saw this cutie in her turtle neck sweater...I just had to have her! I LOVE turtle necks! She is so cute and cozy looking, don't ya think?

I made this card with this week's MFTWSC sketch # 43 and I also made it for the November Guest Design Team Challenge...this month the challenge is....Bling It On!!!!!
Photobucket
I cut a little treat bag on my Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter to coordinate with my card and put a few Lindor chocolates inside. I found some gorgeous black bling Swirls called Nestabling by Want2Scrap at Winners the other day for a steal. I got a bundle of various bling shapes for $5.99. The bling coordinates with your Spellbinders Nestibilites shapes and there is some other shapes too. I have used the Swirls and individual little Rhinestone gems on my card and treat bag.
Photobucket
I coloured this cute Pumpkin Patch Girl with my Copics, paper pieced her outfit and the pumpkins in her wagon, cut her out and pop-dotted her on the long panel. I added a little bling to the wagon wheels and some Twinery Twine.
Photobucket
Here is the inside of the card....I shadow stamped the PI cutie again, added another sentiment from the Pumpkin Patch Girl set on the Framed Greetings Die-namics die and I added a heart from the Hearts of Plenty Die-namics set, cut from Adhesive Cork Material.

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card!

Hope you have a Happy Halloween with lots of yummy treats!!!

Hugs,
