BasicGrey - October Guest Designer - Juniper Berry Card Collection

Hey Scrappy friends! Today I have BIG news!!!! I am beyond excited to announce that I am the BasicGrey Guest Designer for October...akkk, I still can't believe it! I actually got the magical news when I was on vacation at WDW. I was at Epcot, sitting on a bench with Hannah while we waited for Chris and Kieran to ride Mission: Space (I'm a super-duper DisNerd but I can't handle Mission: Space...makes me woozy). So, I took a few minutes to rest my feet and check my phone for message. I was absolutely floored to see a message from Becky Fleck in my in-box, asking if I would be interested in Guesting for BasicGrey. Well, after I pulled myself together, I jumped at the chance! Turns out I didn't need to ride Mission: Space at Epcot to be over the moon!

So, anyone who know me, knows that, making my Christmas cards with the newest BasicGrey Winter/Christmas release is a yearly ritual!  I have LOVED all things BasicGrey since I started scrapbooking almost 14 years ago and when I took up stamping and cardmaking BasicGrey 6X6 paper pads were an essential companion in my card-making process, and still are today!
I can't thank Becky and all the folks at BasicGrey enough for the AMAZING opportunity to, yet again, make my Christmas cards with the fabulous new Christmas collection - Juniper Berry! I have totally fallen, head over heels, in love with the festive colours and fabulous patterns in this whimsical, yet, classy Juniper Berry collection. It's perfect for all your Christmas/holiday cards. Please be sure to head on over to the BasicGrey Blog and check out the post featuring my cards with the BasicGrey Juniper Berry Collection!

I love mixing the larger printed papers in the 12X12 Juniper Berry pack with the 6X6 Juniper Berry paper pad. I usually do some kind of stamping on my cards and it tends to be a cute focal image, that I colour up with my Copics. This process can consume a lot of my valuable crafty time, especially when I have a lot of Christmas/holiday cards to pump out.
Well, I have a little time-saving tip to share; substitute that stamped and coloured focal image with an image cut from patterned paper.  The Reindeer Games paper has the sweetest little woodland creatures on it, so I strategically framed the sweet scene for a winter-y friendship card.
I pulled out my Silhouette (and blew the dust of it) and cut several fabulous BasicGrey Digital Files from the Silhouette Shop - the fun scripty word "cool" is from the BasciGrey Word Set file, the leaves are from the BG Leaves and Berries and I used the BasicGrey Instant Photo Frame digital cut file on several cards. I added a few die cut snowflakes from Reverse Confetti - Let it Snow Confetti Cuts. I finished of the card with a smattering of green sequins from the Juniper Berry Embellishment pack and tied a little hemp cord bow for the cluster of leaves.

This card is one of my  personal faves! Again, I used the larger printed paper called Reindeer Games from the Juniper Berry 12X12 pack, paired with papers from the Juniper Berry 6X6 paper pad. I wanted the reindeer and his little bird friend to be the focus of this card.

I love lots and lots of layers on my cards and the gold glittered manila tag in the Juniper Berry Mixed Tags pack was perfect for adding another dimensional layer  and a little glitter to this card. It was also a good spot to add the word “deer” with the BasicGrey Juniper Berry Alphabet Stickers. I die cut the word ‘Hello” with a Reverse Confetti Hello Confetti Cuts from corrugated cardstock four times and adhered them together to add dimension and stability to the die cut word. I then inked it with white pigment ink.

I tied the BasicGrey gold Glittered Manila tag with some hemp cord, added a few strips of gold foiled BasicGrey Washi Tape from the BasicGrey Embellishment Pack and added some BasicGrey gold sparkly enamel dots, that I'm totally addicted to, to the die cut snowflakes cut from corrugated cardstock and inked with white pigment ink.

I made this graphic card with a mix of Juniper Berry papers from the 121X12 pack and the Juniper Berry 6X6 paper pad. I loved the bold, graphic wintery look of the reverse side of the Garland paper. I knew it had to be the focus of a card, so I framed it with another BasicGrey Silhouette digital cut file - Instant Photo Frame. The sentiment is made with the Reverse Confetti Hello Confetti Cuts and I used the Juniper Berry Alphabet Stickers to spell out the word “winter”. Finally, BasicGrey Silver Candy Dots add the perfect little sparkle to card.

I added a little cluster of leaves from two different BasicGrey digital cutting file called Leaves and Berries and tied the spray with some hemp cord.

I made the sentiment with a die cut word, cut with the Reverse Confetti Hello Confetti Cuts and stamped the word friend from a stamp set in my stamp collection. I cut a few more leaves with the BasicGrey Leaves and Berry Silhouette Digital File along with the Instant Photo Frame

The pattern size of the Balsam 12X12 paper works  perfectly on a smaller canvas size too. I used a gold glittered manila tag from the Juniper Berry Mixed Tag Pack and picked up on the gold by cutting the scalloped panel from gold glitter corrugated cardstock. The sentiment is a sticker from the Juniper Berry Title Sticker sheet.

I adhered the “Winter Wishes” sticker it to a scrap of black cardstock and fussy cut it out leaving a thin boarder around the sentiment sticker. I then popped it up on the circle panel cut with the Reverse Confetti Circles 'N Scallops Confetti Cuts from Merrily paper in the 6X6 paper pad. I found the perfect little spot for the sweet little wood veneer squirrel from the Juniper Berry Wood Die Cut pack....LOVE the gold detail on the wood veneer embellishments. Lastly, a sprinkling of White BasicGrey Candy Dots finishes of the card.

I love the Peace and Joy tag from the Title Sticker Sheet. I layered it over an Instant Photo frame, framing the beautiful Holly Jolly paper from the Juniper Berry 6X6 paper pad. I also used the Lump of Coal and Good Cheer paper from the 6X6 pad and cut a circle from the Garland 12X12 paper pack.

I added the Wood Die Cut Owl and a strip of striped gold foil Washi Tape from the Juniper Berry Embellishment pack
