Simon says Red & Green...I'm in the Simon Says Stamp Designer Spotlight!!!!
Hello crafty friends! Sorry it's been so long since my last post but I was away at a work conference in London, Ontario! It was good but a lot of sitting and I'm not so good at sitting and pay attention for long periods of time, lol! The highlight of my week away was meeting up with Kraftin' Kimmie on Thursday night and hanging out with her and Andrea and meeting Sheila....so much fun!!!! I also did a little stash shopping too, he, he, he! So with all that, I was just pooped when I got home Friday evening that I just relaxed and took it easy all weekend! I didn't even have the energy to do much stamping...can you believe it,lol!
Well, I am so happy to share this card with you this morning...I just love the Simon Says Stamp on-line store and the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and when Lorraine e-mailed me and asked if I would like to be in the Designer Spotlight I was just so honoured and jumped at the chance! Simon says Stamp Challenge blog has a super fabulous DT...so many of favourite designers on the DT...make sure you check out their creations!
So, the challenge this week at the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog is a colour challenge, Red & Green...what a great opportunity to get a Christmas card or two made! So, that is what I did!
I made my card base 6x6 from Bazzill basics cardstock and used this yummy SEI pp called Christmas Mint. I just love this paper as it has such a great texture and some of the sheets have fancy finishes like foil, pearl and varnish...it is really pretty IRL! I also used the co-ordinating Christmas Mint brads!
I picked this Tilda as I thought she went well with the Nordic styled snowflakes on the paper and because I just love, love, love Tilda! Did you know that you can feed your Magnolia addiction at the Simon Says On-line store, lol!? I coloured Tilda with my Copics and distressed the edges with Metallic Rub-ons. The ribbon and flowers are from my stash! I used lots of pop dots to add dimension!
Well, thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! Now I hope you can join the fun over at Simon Says Stamp challenge! I look forward to seeing all your Red & Green creations!

Sketch Saturday # 69, Simon Says Stamp, Anyone For Anya....Baby it's Cold outside!
Hey crafty friends! I have another card to share with you this weekend! I really should be doing laundry and packing, as I am going away on a work conference on Tuesday and won't be back 'til Friday evening! Guess where I'm going....to London...well, it sounds exciting but I'm just going to London Ontario, he, he, he, but I wish it was London England then I could visit some of my BG DT gal pals, smile!
I'm still very excited though cuz it's not too far from Kraftin' Kimmie and we just might take a road trip to one of her favourite stampin' and scrapbookin' stores Scrappin' Great Deals...I'm looking forward to it! I plan on bringing my Copics, some images, and my Ott light with me and colouring at night in my hotel room...hope my roomy doesn't mind, smile!
Well, I made this card today for 3 challenges....Saturday Sketchers #69 they have another fab sketch this week and did you see that I won last week's challenge...whoot whoot...25 buckaroos for Simon Says Stamp on-line store...that should get me a couple more Tildas ha, ha, ha! I also made this card for the challenge at the Simon Says Challenge blog they have a recipe this week...2 papers, 3 embellies and 1 image and for the Anyone for Anya? challenge...I finally got to join in with this new challenge blog and I am so excited to as I need to use my sweet Anyas more often than I do!
I made my cardbase 6x6 from red Bazzill Basics cardstock and used my new BoBunny 'Tis the Season paper that I bought at the Bella Boutique on Friday! Isn't it YUM-O...just love it!!! Now, I hope I still qualify for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge, as I know the recipe called for two papers and it looks like I have used 3 different patterns, but I am being tricky cuz the papers are double-sided, so, technically I did only use 2 papers, smirk! Ya know what they say, rules are made to be broken, lol! The challenge over at Anyone for Anya? is Funky flowers...so I picked these frosted Primas from my stash and inked them with Distress inks as I saw the super talented Kim do on her beautiful card! The Snow flakes are QK punched from DCWV Glitter stack paper I added some buttons and Scrappers floss to make my embellies! the ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is a Melissa Frances rub-on!
I stamped Anya on my ATS Copic paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copics! I gave her a red ribbon in her hair and I used my Sakura Glaze pen to make the band of her ear muffs and the buttons on her coat and boots a little glossy! I also used my Sakura Stardust pen for some glitter here and there!
Here are the Copic colours I used for Anya:
Skin:E000, E00, E02, E21, R20
Skin:E000, E00, E02, E21, R20
Hair:E30, E42, E34, E55, E39

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now here is the card I made today! I thought I would play along with a few challenges and the sketch over at Friday Sketchers is always a good place to start and then I decided to give this week's challenge at Cute Card Thursday a go too! The DT over at CCT want to see some "Hidden Treasure" or a hidden element on your card, gift or creation!
So, I finally got a chance to play with some of the fabulously gorjuss, Gorjuss Girl images that my good blogging and crafty friend Judy sent me all the way from Scotland! I just love these little sweeties! This one was a dream to colour and I used one or two of my new Pastel Copics that I picked up at the Bella Boutique yesterday!
Here are the Coipcs I used on this card....
Skin: E000, E00, E02, E21, R20
Hair:E31, E42, E29
Dress and tights:BV0000, BV00, BV08, R05, R17
background shading:C00, C-1, C-3, C-5, C-7 and Metallic Rub-ons
I thought this Gorjuss Girl would be perfect for a spooky card! I love, love, love the skull slide in her hair!
I made the cardbase 6x6 from purple embossed American Crafts cardstock and used my new My Minds Eye Halloween paper that I bought at Crop Circles in Peterborough. I got the 12X12 paper pack and it was a really good price....love a bargain!
The ribbon, Prima flowers, Bazzill brad are all from my stash and I used Melissa France rub-on on the main image! For the hidden Treasure part of the challenge I folded my crdstock in half and ran it through the cuttlebug with the oval Nestie making sure that I didn't cut through the top of the oval so that it makes a little oval with a flap-cover. I cut papers to mat the inside of the oval and added another Melissa Frances Rub-on. I also added lots of stickles here and there for a little sparkle!

I stamped Tilda on ATS Copic paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copics! I used two QK 2X2 Goosebumpz Embossing dies, Swirls and Daisy on the QK Scalloped border and the Nestie Oval is embossed with the Argyle Cuttlebug folder and lightly sanded it. I added ribbon from my stash, the Prima flowers were an extra little goodie that I got with an order from Simon Says Stamp and I was sooooo super thrilled to get them....how sweet is that! Simon Says Stamp HUGE Blog candy challenge....Tilda says Happy Birthday to you!
I made this card with Iris' great sketch over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog...they have a great challenge this week and a HUGE blog candy up for grabs! I have my eye on the fabulous Spica pens set...not to mention all the other fabulous goodies! Definitely worth checking out and playing along!!!!
I teamed up my two faves Tilda and BasicGrey...I thought I would use my June Bug papers! I do love them but find them a bit challenging to work with...so this card is a little bright for my liking but it is growing on me!
I teamed up my two faves Tilda and BasicGrey...I thought I would use my June Bug papers! I do love them but find them a bit challenging to work with...so this card is a little bright for my liking but it is growing on me!
I stamped this sweet Tilda from the Yummy in my Tummy collection on Neenah paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with my Copics. I am especially happy with her hair but I didn't write down the numbers of the Copics I used....duh! I cut her out and pop-dotted her on the Nestie ovals.
I deviated from the sketch a bit and moved the sentiment to the other side of the card. It just seemed a bit too bunched up with the big Prima flowers that I put there...the sentiment is a Melissa Frances rub-on and guess where I got it....that's right from Simon Says Stamp...they have a great selection of my fave rub-ons, so I stocked up! I picked this birthday sentiment as it was Heidi's B-day on Thursday! Happy belated b-day, Heidi!!!!
I added some buttons from my stash, Scrappers Floss and the ribbon is from Micheals!
Well, there you have it...another card...I'm on a roll but I think it is going to be short lived as the weekend is drawing to an end and I will have to get back to the daily grind, lol!!! Not looking forward to packing lunches...I just dread it,smile!
Well, thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek and if you have today off then I hope you have a great Labour day!

Friday Sketchers # 68.....two cards for Friends!!!
Well, I have been busy making cards this weekend but I'm starting to feel a bit guilty as I have done nothing else and my house is a total disaster. There are still remnants of all the camping trips we've been on this summer, scattered around the house. I will spend tomorrow giving the house a good cleaning and try to get all the camping gear away. Hubby has already started the laundry so I will finish it up! Then we should be all set for back to school on Tuesday!
Well, I made two cards today with the great sketch they have this week over at the Friday Sketchers Challenge blog! This first card I made for my good friend and co-worker, Lynda! I will pop it in the mail on Tuesday for her. She just found out that she has cancer and we are all very shocked! She had surgery on Tuesday and will need another surgery and chemo! I just wanted to send her a little note that I am thinking of her and here for her! Lynda is a real fan of my cards and buys a lot of them to support the organization we work for, so I know she will like this one!
I made the cardbase 6x6 from White Swiss Dots Bazzill cardstock and used BG Lemonade...sorry if you are getting sick of BG Lemonade but I can't get enough of it...love it! So I stamped my new Swiss Pixies stamps, Heidi among the flowers, on ATS Copic paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers. I used another round label from The Shabby Shoppe, added American Crafts ribbon, Primas and some bling here and there. I shimmerized Heidi and the Primas too.
Here is the inside sentiment!
For my second card I turned the sketch on it's side...again, I used White Swiss Dot Bazzill Cardstock and BG Lemonade but I made it a bit smaller. I only have a few 6x6 envelopes left and I find it hard get them. This card fits into a 5.5X5.5 envelope that I get at Micheals. I cut Lisel out with my Nesties and used the out of the box Technique.
I piled on the small Prima flowers in Leisel's wheelbarrow and added lots of Stardust Stickles here and there. The sentiment is from an Amy R Thank You sentiment set from ATS.
I printed the inside sentiment on my computer. This card is for my Auntie Diane...she popped by my work the other day to say "Hi" and I just wanted to let her know that it was nice to see her!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Just Magnolia # 21 and Cute Card Thursday # 76....Tilda rides her bike to school!
Here is my card that I made for the Just Magnolia challenge with Mina's fabulous sketch and for the Cute Card Thursday challenge....Back to School!!
I had to ink up this sweet Tilda with her bicycle that I ordered from Simon Says Stamp...a really great on-line shop! The services is really fabulous and they shipped it so quickly too! Well, I stamped her on Neenah paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers. Since Tilda is heading to school she needed to bring her books and an apple for her teacher. I stamped the books and apple from the Magnolia desk stamp, coloured it in and cut it out. I cut a slit in the image where the basket is and tucked the books and the apple in the basket.
I cut a 6x6 carbase from light blue Bazzill Bling cardstock and used patterned paper by Flair Designs from the Fresh and Fabulous collection...I really love this paper...such pretty colours!
I printed, cut and inked the edges of one of the round labels from the Shabby Shop..this one is from the Child's Words collection! To finish it off I added some ribbon from Micheals, some Primas and a Melissa Frances rub-on....I have to tell you I had originally cut a rub-on that said I heart recess...well I lost it in my scrapbooking room...it's gotta be in there somewhere but I looked high and low for it...well I finally had to pick a different sentiment, smile.
Here is a close up of the books and apple tucked into the bike basket!
Well, there you have it...another card...this one was a lot of fun to make, well, except for loosing my rub-on...I'll probably find it stuck to my butt or something like that, SNORT!
Well, thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!
New BasicGrey Challenge # 3, an inspirational photo....Thank you!!!!
Well, crafty friends can you believe it's Saturday already!? I'm sooooo in need of some R&R and will try to get some over the course of this long weekend (here in Canada) as Monday is Labour Day! I have had a crazy week and a very frustrating week, let me tell ya! My computer went wonky on Monday night!!! I came home from work, turned it on and got the black screen of death that said some major windows file was corrupted or missing....aaakkkk!!!!! It has been quite the ordeal getting it all sorted out but I believe things are back to normal for the most part now! Just a friendly word of advice....go back up your files, my friend! Luckily, I have a great little backup device called a Clickfree and it has been a real life saver!
Well on to happy news....we have another great challenge for you at BasicGrey Challenges so I hope you can join in, at some point...over the next two weeks! Martine has picked this great photo for you to use as inspiration for you creation(s)! You can draw you inspiration from the colours, patterns or any element in the photo! Remember to use at least one BasicGrey product on your creation, and you good to go! Oh and make sure you check out the stunning creations of the BG DT....they are sure to inspire!
I just love the colours and design of this room...very comfy and homey feeling!
So for my card I used white Bazzill Swiss Dots cardstock and made a 6x6 card base. I had to restrain myself from inking all the edges of my paper with Chestnut Roan ink, lol! I wanted to go for the fresh crisp design of this room in the photo.
I used Basicgrey Urban Prairie (the green pattern) and Lemonade (yellow solid) papers! I stamped Tilda on Neenah paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copics. I cut her out with my Oval Nesties using the "Out of the box technique"! I cut the Scalloped Nestie in White Bazzill Swiss Dots.
I added some white tulle as I wanted to capture the soft, sheerness of the curtains in the photo and I added the green cotton lace to capture the comfy feeling of this room. To finish it off I added a few Prima flowers and some Angel Wings Shimmerz to them! The sentiment is a QK rub-on and the tag and photo corner are QK dies.
Well, there you have it another BG Challenge! I am really looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!
Thanks for stopping by and for all the awesome comments and awards that I have received...it may take me a bit to get to your blog or to post your award as the computer problems has set me back a bit...but I will do as soon as I can, smile!
Have a great weekend and or long weekend to all my crafty Canadian friends!
Hugs,
