My Favorite Things Stamps...Cottage Birthday!

Hey Stampin' friends! I've been enjoying a bit of a stampin' and bloggin' break, soaking up the beautiful summer sun! We've been camping and have another camping trip planned this month and we are looking forward to our trip to Chicago at the end of the month too.  We were SO lucky to get an invite to spend the civic long weekend at my brother's girlfriend's (Kate) family cottage on Lake Rosseau in Muskoka. WOW! What a fabulous time we had! It was Kate's mother's birthday so I made this card for Martha before we hit the road.
I thought this pretty BasicGrey Mint Julep paper had a summery, cottage feel. I made the card 6X6 from Kraft heavyweight Card Stock and matted with MFT Heavyweight Card Stock in Red Hot.
I used this sketch as a jumping-off point for this card.

  photo MFTCottageb-day_edited-1RS1_zpse3a7ca25.jpg
I used the MFT Inspired By the Front Porch - Spring Stamp set...the image looks exactly like the cottage porch and was perfect for my card. I stamped the porch image in MFT Kraft Premium Dye Ink on Primitive White Heavyweight Card Stock and cut it out with the Circle STAX. I  layered it over a Pierced Circle cut from Red Hot Heavyweight Card Stock with the new Pierced Circle STAX. I also added some pretty MFT Replenishments Kraft Grosgrain ribbon and added a blue button tied with Hemp cord. I cut the tag from Primitive White Heavyweight Card Stock with the tag die from the Blueprints 2 and stamped the sentiment from the Lisa Johnson Designs Birthday Greetings Stamp set. The flowers are from the new Blueprints 5 set and are cut from Banana Heavyweight Card Stock I used a Copic Toner Grey marker to enhance the embossed line in the flower.

Here is the inside... I stamped another sentiment from the Lisa Johnson Birthday Greetings in Red Hot Premium Dye Ink and a few more pretty Banana and Red Hot flowers from Blueprints 5.

Thanks for stopping by and havin' a wee peek at my card!

 photo WBDCupcakeCutieDay3B_edited-1RS2_zps3a9d70b5.jpg

I'm thrilled that MFT is introducing the NEW Wendy Burns Design line! Wendy’s line is fun, whimsical, and blast to colour! I've totally fallen in love with this cutie...Cupcake Cutie, to be exact!  I paired her with BasicGrey Bowties and Hey Boy 6x6 papers...I LOVE the orange and red colour combo! I matted with MFT Replenishments Heavyweight Card Stock in Steel Grey, Orange Fizz and Red Hot.

 photo WBDCupcakeCutieF_edited-1RS6_zpsa1603c3f.jpg

I had SO much fun colouring up the NEW Cupcake Cutie with my Copics...I even tried a little tip that I picked up recently. I added a red cast shadow to her skin...this is the light reflecting the colour of her dress onto her skin. I used my E00 and R24 Copic and used the tip-to-tip technique. I really like how it turned out.

I cut the image with the NEW Mini Album Bracket STAX and I used the "Cut and Re-Cut" technique to have the bracket edge on both sides of the image. I then left the image in the die and inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink.  I cut the ticket with the Just the Ticket Die-namics and stamped the ticket frame from the Just the Ticket Stamp set with Electric Red Premium Dye Ink and then stamped the sentiment from the NEW Chocolate Sentiments Stamp set ( this month's Triple Scoop) with the NEW Orange Fizz Premium Dye Ink. I added Red Hot Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a big bow with a Tangy Orange Button tied with Hemp cord.

 photo WBDCupcakeCutieE_edited-1RS5_zps5e6d4eee.jpg

Here is the inside...I stamped the NEW WBD - Cupcake Cutie with NEW Orange Fizz Premium Dye Ink on Smooth White Heavyweight Card Stock and I used the oval frame from the NEW Blueprints 2 Die-namics. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the font for this set. I stamped the sentiment with Electric Red Premium Dye Ink on Smooth White Heavyweight Cardstock. I cut the sentiment with the Fishtail Flags STAX and cut it twice to get the fishtail on both ends. I also inked the sentiment panel by leaving it in the die and ink with Orange Marmalade Distress Ink. I cut a mat from Orange Fizz Heavyweight Card Stock and added two cute Tangy Orange Buttons tied with Hemp Cord.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card featuring the NEW Wendy Burns Design - Cupcake Cuite Stamp set. Please take a minute and pop on over to MFT Blog for links to all the MFT Designers on assignment today and the details of the exciting NEW Teaser Time changes! For my card today, I inked up the super sweet NEW Pure Innocence, Around The World - Netherlands, the first in the new Pure Innocence - Around the World stamp sets. I adore this new set and it is extra special to me as Canada and the Netherlands have a very special relationship. Canada offered assistance to the Dutch and the Dutch Royal family during WWII.  As a show of gratitude to Canada the Dutch Royal family sent 100,000 tulips to Canada and promised to send 10,000 every year after. These beautiful tulips bloom at our Nations Capital, Ottawa, every spring in the Canadian Tulip Festival, celebrating international friendship.

I used the pretty Teressa Collins Every Day Moments 6x6 papers. I coloured the PI Netherlands girl with my copics and paper pieced her hat and dress. I popped her up on a panel made with the NEW Hearts STAX Die-namics. I also added just the opened hearts border of the NEW Layered Heart Border Die-namics. I loved that the set comes with Dutch sentiments...this set is going to be perfect for cards for my Dutch friends. Many Dutch people have immigrated and settled in the region where I live. I stamped one of the sentiments from this set on Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock on one of the tags cut from the NEW Accent It - Labels and Tags. To embellish I add some pretty Sweet Tooth Grosgrain Ribbon with a Tangy Orange Button tied with Hemp Cord.

Photobucket

Here is the inside...I stamped the NEW PI Around the World - Netherlands girl again and used the NEW Heart STAX Die-namics for the sentiment panel and added another border using just the open hearts from the NEW Layered Heart Border Die-namics.

Thanks SO much stopping by and having a wee peek at my card with the NEW PI Around the World - Netherlands. For my card this week I made another Christmas card...this one is for Sherri, she is the breeder where we got our new Siamese kitten. We are thoroughly enjoying, Kato. He is such a sweet little boy and we are having SO much fun with him around the house and our other cat Liam is taken with him now too.  Well, Kato is definitely making this the "Purrfect Christmas" at the Godfrey house!

I inked up the super cute Pure Innocence Purrfect Stamp set for my special Christmas card. I colourd the PI Purrfect Girl and kitty with my Copics and I coloured him to look like our little, Kato, a Chocolate point Siamese. I paper pieced the PI girls dress. I combined two sentiments the word "Purrfect" is from the PI Purrfect Stamp set and then I added the "Christmas Wishes" from a sentiment stamp in the PI Stocking Girl Stamp set. I used MFT Nightshift, Sno Cone and Paver Red Heavyweight Card Stock for the matting and papers from a 6x6 paper Pad called Sweater Weather. I also added some pretty Sno Cone Grosgrain ribbon tied with a Paver Red Button with Hemp Cord.  I cut a tag from Natural Heavyweight Card Stock and tied it to the bow...I cut out the letters for Kato's name from Paver Red with the Accent it -Story Starters and Calendar Components Die-namics.

Here is the inside....I stamped the PI Purrfect girl again with MFT Wild Cherry Premium Dye Ink and I cut the Insert It - InstaFrame from Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock and framed a pic of Kato for Sherri to see how big he is getting.
