Whiff of Joy Challenge # 82...A fab Sketch by Kim...Lazy Summer Days!

Good morning! It is time for another fun challenge over at the Whiff Of Joy Challenge blog. This week Kim has designed the most beautiful sketch for us to play with! I really hope you can join us...just one rule though, you must use a Whiff Of Joy image for the challenge!
I was super excited to ink up this sweet image of Willow Reading from the WOJ June Kit all the stamps and sentiments in this set are fab but this Willow is my fave! I thought she would look good sitting on the rose swing from the WOJ Wedding collection, like she is in the garden reading! I coloured her with my Copics and cut the image out with my long rectangle Nestie. I inked the background with Spun Sugar distress inks.
I made the card 6x6 from Bazzill cardstock and used BoBunny Jazmyne papers that are so sparkly and beautiful...just love the colours in this collection! For embellishments I added Prima flowers and bling, one BG fabric brad and punched my MS butterfly punch from QuicKutz cork material. I stamped the sentiment with Memento ink on a QK tag cut form BG paper.

Here is the inside..the sentiments on the QK tags are Kimmie's Beachy sentiments and the word friend is from a clear stamp set that I have had kickn' around in my stash for a while...it actually said "friends" I just didn't ink up the "s".

Well, I am really happy with how this card turned out with Kim's gorgeous sketch to inspire me and I love this Willow to bits. I know I'm going to get a lot of use of her...she is soooooo sweet!
I hope you can join us and I hope you can take a few minutes to pop over the WOJ Challenge blog and see all the stunning creations from the DT! You will be sooooo inspired to join to us!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Belles 'n Whistles Stamps Challenge...Red and Sketch Saturday # 109...Happy Birthday to Our Sweet Angel!

Good Morning crafty friends! I thought I would share the card that I made last night for Hannah's 11th Birthday that is this Saturday...yes, I said it...11 years old...my gosh, where has the time gone! I was racking my brain as to what image to use for her card and then I saw the challenge yesterday at Belles 'n Whistles...Red...and I thought it would be fitting as Ruby is Hannah's birthstone and I remember like it was yesterday, going into labour on July 1st, Canada day, but she didn't make her special appearance until the 3rd!
Then I decided this cutie called Cupcake would be perfect...Hannah loves cupcakes and cats (well all animals, really! She knows the name of every dog that lives in our neighbourhood, smile!) I coloured the image with Copics and cut it out with my Nesties and used Old paper Distress ink for the background and I stamped a Kelly Pannaci flourish stamp with Antique Linen Distress ink.

I also used the beautiful sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week...I hope you can still see it under all the embellies but I do tend abundantly embellish,he, he, he! I made my easel card with AC cardstock and used this yummy October Afternoon paper. I used my Catslife Press stamps and Melissa Frances and QuicKutz rub-ons. I used my new and gorgeously scrumptious Wild Orchid Crafts roses and MS butterflies punched out of silver glitter paper and lots of red bling!

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at Hannah's B-day card! I hope she likes it! She has been band from visiting my blog until Saturday, lol! We will see if she can resist.
Hope you have a stampin' great day!

Just Magnolia # 61...Bev's Sketch...Hoppy Birthday!

I'm back again to share the card I made today for the Just Magnolia Challenge! Bev has designed a great sketch for us this week and I really enjoyed using it. It's definitely one to use again!
I made an easel card with American Crafts cardstock and Imaginisce Princess paper that I've had in my stash for a while. I finally inked up this adorable princess Tilda! I've been dieing to use my princess sentiment stamp from Catslife press with her. I coloured Tilda with my Copics and add a lot of Glamour Dust to her wings...wish I could have got a better pic of her...she is very sparkly IRL!

I also used the frog stamp as well and I printed the bottom sentiment on the computer.

I also used one of Kraftin' Kimmie's sentiments too. I'm just posting this quickly as we are going out to dinner and then going to see Toy Story 3 in 3D at the show.

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 35....Thank you and Sweet Wishes!

Good Morning Krafty friends! Time for another Kraftin' Kimme Stamps challenge but sadly this is my last challenge as a Krafty Girl. It is time for me to take a break and spend a little more time with my family and catch up on all those things around the house that I've been neglecting. Kimmie has been so understanding and supportive about my decision to step down but I definitely will still be making KKS cards and will be doing what I can to help Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps from time to time. I have to tell you that the Krafty Girls are the bestest DT gals ever!!! They are so much fun and I love 'em to bits! I have had the best time on this team....I'm sooooo going to miss being a Krafty Girl!!! It has been a great honour to be a Krafty Girl!!! Thanks so much, Kimmie, for giving me this wonderful opportunity!

Now on to the challenge dets....this week the challenge was set by Krafty Girl, Melanie and she is asking us to make a Shaped card...so anything but the regular old square card. Melanie has made such a gorgeous Side Step card with Cordelia and Billy Blyth it is absolutely stunning and such a fabulous scene...so if you enter the challenge and use a KKS image you will be entered into the random draw to win your choice of either Cordelia or Billy.

I have two simple cards to share with you that I made with my Nesties to make the shapely cards, smile! I used my curvy rectangles for this card and coloured up Lillith with my Copics. The sentiment is from Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments set!

I cut two pieces of Bazzill Dotted Swiss cardstock and made a score mark at the top of the back piece and folded it, added a bit of scor-tape and attached the pieces to make the tent card. This way the shape of the Nestie goes all the way around edge of the card.

Here is the inside....the sentiment is from Kimmie's Fun Sentiment set.

Here is the other little card I made with my large scalloped Nesties...a mini-easel card. I made another lollipop flower...this time an apple and the sentiment is from Kimmie's Tea Sentiments set.

Well, the other Krafty Girls have some super shapely cards to share with you so I hope you can swing by the Kraftin Kimmie Challenge blog and have a peek. I hope you can join us as well as we love see all you Krafty goodness!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek at my cards!

Just Magnolia #60...Tilda In the Garden!!!

Good morning crafty friends! I played in my craft room quite a bit this weekend and I made this card for the Just Magnolia Challenge...it sounded like a great theme...In the Garden...I just couldn't resist playing along! I decided to use this sweet Tilda picking strawberries from her vegetable garden and I used the Magnolia spring fence to make a little scene.
So, I'm not a gardener at all but my Dad sure is...boy, does he love his garden! He was at my house the other day and said "awk, I best get home to make me tae" (with his Irish accent I must add) and then he says with a sly look on his face "me compost tae, that is! I got the recipe off the Internet." lol! Well, I think that is just too funny! I didn't even know there was such a thing as compost tea...did you!? Well, get this, my Mum informs me he uses her old pantyhose to strain it through, rofl! Sounds like too much work to me,lol!
Well, enough story telling...now about this card...I used some new October Afternoon papers from Scrappin' Great Deals and I am soooooo in love with them. They are just gorgeous and so fun to work with! I added some eyelet trim that I picked up at a quaint little sewing shop on my travels to Lindsay, some Prima flowers with gems and I punched MS butterflies from QuicKutz cork material.

I coloured Tilda with my Copics, of course, and cut the image out with my Nesties and inked the background with Tumbled Glass and Old Paper Distress inks. The Garden Notes sentiment is from Catslife Press and the other sentiment is from Stamping Bella and is stamped on a QK tag.

Here is the inside...I used a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sentiment from Kimmie's Beachy sentiment set!
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I am off to make me a tea but not compost tea, that is for sure, smile!
Hope you have a stampin' great day!

The Shabby Shoppe & Pure Innocence Hybrid cards...You're the Best Teacher set!

Hope you are enjoying the weekend! I have been so lazy this weekend, it isn't even funny. I've done nothing around the house but I was able to make up some cards for the kid's teachers since it is almost the end of the school year and I don't want to be scrambling at the last minute!
We have been blessed with really great teachers this year and if your child has ever had, a not so great teacher, then you know what a blessing it is, to have a great one. I wanted to make some cute cards to say thanks! I decided to the make "hybrid" cards...I used a digi paper kit called Summer Cottage from the Shabby Shoppe that I absolutely love and the tags are from the Summer Cottage Teacher's Pet gift set. I also used Digi Pure Innocence images from Heather Ellis Etsy shop.

This card is for Hannah's teacher, Mr.Ryan. She also had him in grade 2 and we just love him to bits! He is such a wonderful teacher and really brings out the best in Hannah. I really struggled on how girlie to make this card and if I should use the PI girl or boy but this little girl is suppose to be Hannah so I went with her! I printed the digi papers and used the brown pattern, again, to lessen the girlie factor, then used some brown cotton trim brads and a button with twine....no flowers.

Here is the inside.

This card is for Kieran's classroom teacher, Mrs. Poechman and I made the other one for his Resource teacher Mrs. Brownson. I got my Prima flower fix on these two cards, lol and I used this cute little Boy with Dog image and coloured all the images with my Copics and used Melissa Frances rub-ons, MM letter stickers, MM buttons with Scrappers Floss and some Kaisercraft pearls.

Well, thanks for stopping by and havin' a wee peek! Maybe I should really muster up some energy and tidy up around her or something....yuck,he,he,he!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 34...Summer Colour Challenge...Have a Ball!

YAY!!! It is the weekend! I am soooo glad for that! I haven't had the best week really but I won't bore you with the details and even though I am not feeling so great (have a bit of a sore throat) I'm very excited that it is the weekend! So, one of the bestest things about the weekend is the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge! This week Krafty Girl, Jeanne, come up with a great Summer colour challenge for us...Blue, Yellow and Tan!
If you join us and and use a KKS image on your creation you could be the lucky random winner of, Tubing Miles, featured on Jeanne's super cute and summery card!

For my card, I used Jack from the Moonlight Whispers May Beach release! I think he so cute and he is quite quick to colour up if you are pressed for time! I coloured him with my Copics and cut him out and pop dotted him on the circle!
I made my cardbase 6x6 and mixed and matched some sheets from my BG Max and Whiskers and Kioshi pads. I also used some Kraft cardstock and stamped some of the fish and other accessory stamps from the June Release Mermaid Stamp kit. I cut two circles with my Nesties one in a blue sheet from the Kioshi pad and the other from Kraft cardstock and cut the blue sheet in half and adhered it onto the Kraft. I used some gorgeous MFT Twill tape to cover the seem between the two. On the bottom of the Kraft sheet I used Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder in Tea Dye for the sand. I haven't really used the Distress Powders very much but this Tea Dye powder makes great sand. It adds some texture and just a little sparkle too!

Here you can see a close up of the "sand". I also used one of Kimmie's Mermaid sentiments from the Mermaid kit stamped on Kraft and cut out with a QuicKutz tag die. The Beach sentiment circle is a digi embellishment from The Shabby Shoppe in a digi paper kit called Summer Cottage!
Thanks so much for stopping by, friend...hope you can join the summer fun and I hope you can bounce on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge blog and have a peek at the gorgeous creations by the Krafty Girls...I know you'll have a ball, smile!
