My Favorite Things Stamps...A family is a gift...!!

Photobucket
Hey stampin' friends! Back again today to share a co-coordinating card to the card I posted yesterday. This one is for my aunt to thank her for such a lovely visit and dinner that we had when Chris and I went to Chicago, in August. I thought this cute A La Mode girlie from the stamp set called, You Mean the World to Me, would be perfect for this card. My Dad has two sisters who immigrated to the US and my Dad came to Canada from Ireland and then I have many, many more aunts, uncles and cousins still in Ireland.
Photobucket
So, I coloured this cute ALM girl with my Copics and cut her out and stamp the sentiment with the MFT Clearly Sentimental about Family set and I used the MFT Well Worn Greetings Die-namics and Stamp set again and I am loving this set. I also used the Open Scalloped Border Die-namics and some Denim Twinery Twine and a sprinkling of red half-pearls.
Photobucket
Here is the inside...I stamped the A La Mode girl in Danube Blue Memento ink and the sentiment is from an old MFT sentiments set.

Thanks for popping by and having a wee peek at my card! We are going to have our Thanksgiving dinner today....yum! I am looking forward to some turkey and all the fixings. While the turkey is cooking, I think I might go crack the cover on my new Sandra Brown book, Lethal.

Happy Turkey Day!!!!

Hugs,

MFT GD...A Recipe for Love...You're TOO Sweet!

Photobucket

Hey crafty friends! I have a quick post tonight to share the card I made for the February GDT challenge over at My Favorite Things Stamps! The Challenge is a Recipe of Love...

Valentine's theme
One Patterned Paper
Two Cardstock Colors(not including neutral base)
Three Embellishments(three types, not just three of one thing)

So, I thought I would give it a go again this month and keep my fingers, toes and well, everything crossed! I would be so psyched to be the GDT for February!

Photobucket

For my valentine card I used this super sweet PI stamp called Lollipop. You can get lots of these cutie PI Girlies at Simon Says Stamp Super Store. I coloured her up with my Copics and teamed her up with this gorgeous new BasicGrey 6x6 paper pad called Hopscotch...I am soooo in love with this paper but I only used one sheet of it as per the recipe. I used yellow and blue American Crafts cardstock and Bazzill Kraft cardstock as my one neutral. For embellies I used, gems, Prima flowers and some trim (MFT twill and My Favorite Felt). I used my MFT Die-Namics Scalloped Scallop die to cut the felt. I added some sparkle with a Sakura Stardust pen and spread it around with my finger. I used my Glaze pen on her Lollipop, shoes and hair clip. I stamped one of the sentiments on some Kraft cardstock and cut it out with a QuicKutz tag die!

Photobucket
Here is the inside....I cut the heart shaped valentine lollipop holder with my Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter. When I saw this cute GSD file, I knew it would be perfect for this card! I matted it on a Kraft scalloped Nestie heart and added one of the sentiments on a Nestie tag from the Lollipop Stamp set!

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card for the GDT Challenge at My Favourite Things!

Have a stampin' great day!

My Favorite Things...WSC Challenge # 4...Time to...!

Photobucket
Good evening crafty friends! Hope you are enjoying the weekend and keeping warm. I decided to make my card for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club challenge this afternoon and I couldn't wait to share it with you. When I saw this week's fabulous sketch last week, I instantly knew what I wanted to do with it and that I wanted to use this sweet A La Mode stamp called Take Time. I love how she is posed....so sweet and I just loved colouring her up with my Copics. I teamed this A La Mode girlie up with some of my MME Fine and Dandy, Tickled Pink papers....they are just so pretty and I thought they would be perfect for this card!

Photobucket
I have a Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter...one of the old ones from when they were owned by QuicKutz. I still love it but I haven't been using it very much lately. Well, I decided to make a bit of a new years resolution to use it more often. So, I used this GSD clock face file and I cut it out from black cardstock and then I cut the "scalloped" Nested circle GSD file...I think that it actually looks like hearts more than  scalloped. I added some pearls and this gorgeous MFT striped twill. I stamped one of the sentiments that comes with Take Time set on a QuicKutz tag.

Photobucket

and here is the inside.....the inside sentiment is from the same MFT Take Time set.

I'm really happy with how my card turned out I love the black with the soft pink and blue and I am so glad that I got to use my Silhouette!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Sneak Peek...You're Stuck With Me, Friend!

Hey Krafty friends!!!!! I am so glad that you could stop by today because I'm super excited to share a sneak peek of the December release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps with you! In fact, all the Krafty Girls have previews to share!!! If you want to see a full listing of the previews head on over to Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog!

Well, Kimmie has out done herself again and so have the Krafty Artists, Crissy Armstrong and Annie Rodrigue. They have once again created fabulously cute and "twisted" images for us this release and we have a new artist joing the Krafty team! Jean Grant, has two really sweet and whimsical images that I just absolutely adore and I know you will too!

Today, I have used one of the new Annie Rodrigue images from the Moonlight Whispers collection! Please meet the oh so sweet and a little twisted, Drucilla! I absolutely fell in love with Drucilla and I just love the concept of a voodoo doll...how naughty...how fabulous!!! Drucilla also comes with an accessory stamp, Drucilla's locket, as do all the Moonlight Whisper images. The two sentiments sets that Kim is releasing with these new images are just so much fun and you will have the perfect sentiment to go with these new images and images from previous releases.

For my card I made the cardbase 6x6 with Bazzill Bling cardstock and used BG Eire and Eva 6x6 pp. I stamped Drucilla with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on ATS Copic Quality paper and coloured her in with my Copic markers. I cut the image out with my Nesties and left it in the die to use as a stencil and inked the image with Distress inks. I added some Prima flowers, sheer ribbon and a few straight pins to finish it off!

Well, Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my sweet Drucilla...isn't she a cutie patootie and yes, just a wee bit twisted too!

Come back again tomorrow for another sneak peek and the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge!

WOJ POM July.....A gift for Teacher!!!!

First off, Happy Canada Day!!! I hope you have a great day with friends and family and maybe even get to see the fireworks later! I also hope you are actually reading this post as I scheduled it and I am not so lucky with that, so will keep the fingers crossed that it worked out, lol!
I wanted to show you what I made for this months WOJ POM...a gift for teacher!
I bought these Mary Kay Glisten Winterberry Gift sets from my very bestest friend and Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, Dana, for the kids' teachers!
Then I made the apple shaped gift tags on my Silhouette with a QK digital download GSD file! I cut it out of Bazzill Bling cardstock and this fun Fancy Pants paper!
I stamped Willow and Oakley on Prism Simply Smooth White cardstock and coloured them with my Copics, I inked all the edges of the paper, assembled the cards, added the fun measuring tape twill and pop-dotted Willow and Oakley on the card!
Kieran had a really great and supportive teacher this year so I added this little special teacher charm that I picked up at Stamping Bella!

Here is the inside! I punched a hole with my Crop-A-Dile and laced through some more twill and tied it to the gift bag and I added the twill with the number for the grade that each kid will be going into next year! This is the inside of Hannah's card...I can't believe she is going into grade 5...where has the time gone, smile!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Copic Colour Challenge # 18 and Just Magnolia # 10 Summer!

I made this card for the Just Magnolia challenge this week! The challenge is to make a card with a Summer theme! I have been thinking about this fun card idea for a while now, mulling it over in my head! Finally, I had a chance to put it all together! So, I made a 6x6 card base from red Bazzill Basics cardstock. I wanted the focal of this card to be the circle with these fun words on it...just what everyone wants to do in the summer....run, jump, skip, play! This is a QK Digital download image and I cut it out my QuicKutz Silhouette and inked it and all the pp with Faded Jeans Distress inks. I used BasicGrey Lime Ricky for the pp and cut the solid blue pp with my Fiskars circle cutter to mat the die cut.
I stamped Edwin and the butterflies, from the Magnolia Chasing Butterflies collection, on Prism Simply Smooth White cardstock and coloured them in with my Copics, cut them out and pop-dotted them on the circle. I used the colours from this week's Copic Colour Challenge...Rose Red R 85, Holiday Blue BG05, Cadmium Yellow Y15.

Again, I embossed this fun C.C. Designs sentiment with American Crafts Zing white embossing powder. I just love having a white sentiment and it is so hard to get a good crisp impression with white ink, so I am just thrilled with the Zing embossing powder! I finished the card off with some American Crafts ribbon...my fave, smile! Got Flowers? Primas (that I got at Micheals for $2.99...whata steal) and MM brads!
The inside is very simple and just left it as a note card!
Thanks for stopping by this morning to have a wee peek! I am going to have a blog hop now and catch up on my commenting. Sorry I haven't been around to comment much lately. I am having a crazy busy month I will be going on holidays in a few weeks...I am very much looking forward to that break!

WoJ Project of the Month...Something for Dad!!!

Here is what I created for the WoJ Project of the Month! We were asked to make "something for Dad"! Well, I know Chris loves to go golfing although he doesn't get out as often as he would like to.

I thought I would make him something golf related so, I picked up some golf balls and tees at Golf Town and will add a gift card or some money to cover the green fees, smile!

I used my QuicKutz Silhouette to cut the door hanger and octagon box. The door hanger is rather cute and has a little pocket on the back that I stuck some of the tees in and will add the green fee $$ later! The dotted paper is American Crafts and the plaid is from Cosmo Cricket Lil' Man Collection. The golf hole and flag and the tee and ball were all cut on my Silhouette using QK digital downloads out of cardstock. I inked all the edges with my Chestnut Roan chalk ink. The grass is a QK 2x2 die and the letting is a QK alphabet.

I used Oakley with pullover as I thought he looked like a wee golfer and this Willow is a real fave of mine and when my husband first saw these stamps he said she reminds him of our daughter Hannah. I coloured them with my Copics and pop-dotted everything to give dimension! Here you can see the back pocket on the door hanger.

I love how the octagon box top folds up at the top! I added a Nesties tag with a WOJ sentiment.

inside the box is a few golf balls! Now hubby will be all set to hit the greens!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! The other WOJ DT members have fabulous PoM to share with you too. So go check out their blogs or go to the PoM gallery on the Whiff of Joy website!

Just Magnolia...a Shaped card....Hope you're berry better soon!

Well, I was so excited about this challenge this week over at Just Magnolia! I have had this idea for a strawberry shaped card for a while and this week's challenge is "Let's get in shape" just the motivation I needed to test out my idea! I am quite happy with how it turned out and it was very easy to do with my handy-dandy Quickutz Silhouette!
This card is for Hannah's good friend Morgan, who was severely hurt by a bully at school on Friday. The poor thing had her shoulder dislocated and has several cracked ribs! It is just horrible what happened! I hope this card makes Morgan feel just a little better!
I used a strawberry Digital design to make this strawberry shaped card! It was very easy to do and I think it looks great!!!! I just opened the digital design, enlarged all the pieces at the same time to make a larger card, then ungrouped everything. Moved the pieces that I didn't need to the side. I copied the largest piece, so that I had two of the same shape, mirrored the second image, positioned it where I wanted it (above the first shape but with the tops of the two shapes crossing over slightly) and used the new weld feature to make the card outline. Then cut the strawberry shaped card base from pink Bazzill Bling cardstock. I then used the smaller shape of the strawberry to cut the front patterned paper and the inside. I then cut the stem portion from green Bazzill Bling. I saved the changes that I made to GSD file with a new name and now I can make a strawberry shaped card again!
For the image I stamped Tilda and the Magnolia Strawberries on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them with my copics.
I pop-dotted Tilda and the strawberries on the card and added the Computer generated sentiment, some ribbon, and BasicGrey brads for seeds! The inside sentiment is from the WOJ Summer stamp set!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!
Hope you have a great day!!!

Happy Victoria day to all my fellow Canadians...hope you're enjoying the long weekend!!! It's too bad the weather isn't nicer but I'll still take the day off, lol!!!! Now, If you don't get today off, then I hope you had a great weekend and maybe your WOJ Summer Set will come in the mail today!!! That is as good as a day off if not better, lol!!!

Well, here is another card with the fabulous WOJ Summer Stamp Set!!! Theses stamps are so gorgeous and I think this one is my new fav, smile! (Do you see a pattern starting here, smile) This sweetie was such a joy to colour! I used the K & Co. paper again...loving it!!!!

I made this card for the WOJ Challenge # 30...a card for a friend and I used the great sketch at Sketch Saturday!!!!

I stamped Willow on my Prism Simply Smooth Cardstock and with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers!I cut her out with my new flower Nestie and made a frame and pop dotted it and I cut the open scallop on my Silhouette! The red buttons are from my blogging buddy and BG teamie Martine and were the perfect match, the flowers and ribbon and metal sentiment plate and green buttons are from my stash! I used scrappers floss in the buttons and I didn't have any red scrappers floss, so I coloured the white floss with my Strong Red Copic marker!!! Cool, eh!?

Here is the inside...the my sweet friend sentiment comes in the WOJ Summer Stamp Set with the great strawberries and the other sentiment is a Melissa Frances rub-on!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! Hope you have a great day!!!

GDT Whiff of Joy...Summer Stamp Set....Sweet Hello!

Good afternoon folks! Hope you are having a great weekend! look what I have to show you! My first GDT card with the new WOJ Summer Stamp Set...YAY!!!! All the stamps in this set are so totally scrumptious and I just adore the fruit theme but I think this one of Willow is my fav, for now anyways, smile!!!! I just love this new K & Co. paper...what a perfect fit for the new WOJ stamps! It's soooo summery...perfect for a fun, bright card! So, get your sunglasses out ladies and have a peek, lol!!!!

I stamped Willow with Memento Black Tuxedo ink on Prism Simply Smooth paper and coloured her in with my Copics. I cut the open scalloped border on my Silhouette and laced the yummy American Crafts ribbon through it. I am also loving my American Crafts Zing embossing powder! I used it for this sweet sentiment that come in the WOJ set and for the stitching on the border!

Here is the inside of the card! Again, I embossed the sentiment with the Zing White embossing powder and this yummy ice cream cone image comes in the WOJ summer stamp set! I masked it and layered one over the other and coloured it with my Copics.

Not sure if you can see it in this image but the chocolate sprinkles on the ice cream cones are very shimmery! I took a tooth pick and doted Stix2 PVA glue on them and then rubbed the brown foil over them! So there you have it my first GDT card...now I think I've stamped out the nerves now I can just enjoy and have fun with it,smile!

WOJ # 28 Stars and Stipes and Sketch Saturday # 49....Congratulations on your graduation!

Well, I had a fabulous time yesterday at Cathy's house scraping and stamping with Cathy, Dana, Michelle, Rita and Anna!!! We had a great time yackin'. Unfortunately, I didn't accomplish a lot...ummm...I made one card in 15 hrs but I still had a great time and I think I rolled in around 1:00 a.m. this morning!!! Definitely a really fun way to spend National scrapbooking day...with friends, smile!!!
So It is May and do you know what that means...yup...my 2 month (May and June) stint as GDT for WoJ has started along with Malin and Lacey! I am sooooo super excited! I still can't believe it...YAY!!!! I think I need someone to pinch me again! I went and visited Katharina's blog and my name is there on the sidebar...YAY!!! So, I thought I would prime the creative juices by playing along with this week's challenge over at the WoJ Challenge blog! The challenge is Stars and Stripes and I used this week's fabulous sketch at Sketch Saturday for the layout!
I was asked by a co-worker if I could make a graduation card for her niece who is graduating from Gallaudet University, the only Liberal Arts University in World for the Deaf, in Washington D.C.!!!! So, this is what I came up with and I'm really happy with how it turned out! I hope she likes it!

I made a 6x6 cardbase from black cardstock and used this fabulous Scenic Route paper that I have had in my stash for a while. Yes I was hording it.lol! How perfect stars and stripes right in the pattern paper and I love the colours! I cut the mat on my Silhouette by resizing a tag GSD file and then cut the open scalloped border on my Silhouette too!
I stamped "Melinda Reading A Book" on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copics. I cut her out with my circle Nesties, embossed it and then used the Nestie as a template and sponged the background with Distress inks! I did the same with the tag and the sentiment stamp is from My Favorite Things.
I added a few Primas with BG brads and some yummy American Crafts ribbon a little Shimmerz on Melinda's wings and the flowers for a little sparkle!
I decorated the inside too and I used the stack of books from the WoJ accessories set and did the same process as I did with the front image. I printed the inside sentiment on the computer..."Shine like the star that you are! Congratulations on your graduation"
This was such a fun card to make but when I first saw this sketch I wondered how in the heck I would make the half circle/rectangle mat thing but it did finally come together thanks to my handy dandy Silhouette, smile!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek and thank you so much for all the lovely comments. I do really appreciate them all! Well, I hope you have a good week!

Oh, I thought I would leave you with a couple picies from yesterday!
(Anna, Rita and Dana...Michelle and Cathy must have been Camera shy, smile)

Look at all that combined stash, lol!!! Also, want to give a shout out and big thank you to all my friends yesterday! They so kindly bought cards to support The Canadian Hearing Society! I have raised $305 dollars for CHS!
