Friday Sketchers # 66...It's a Jungle out there...Enjoy!

I am just getting this card in under the wire for the Friday Sketchers challenge #66 ! This is another great sketch! I made this card Monday night for a wonderfully kind and patient man who is retiring from my work, Jim. Jim has been the resident computer guru for last 19 years...well his official title is something like Manger of IT but guru works too. He often comes to the rescue every time our computers do something wonky but he very kindly tells us it is more often than not, user error, lol!!! Well, Jim spends enough time in front of a monitor (well make that 4 actually) so he likes to spend his free time at home on his wooded property clearing the brush. So I thought this jungle/Safari Edwin would do the trick for his card!
I used this great DCWV Animal Cracker 8x8 stack that I bought in Buffalo on our way back from Florida in July. I stamped Edwin on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured him with my Copics. Now I was unsure at the time if the flowers were just too girlie for a "boy" card. So, when I arrived at work I asked the ladies what they thought of the flowers! They all agreed that they were a bit much so off they came! I have to say, that it did look more like a boy card sans the flowers, lol!
So, I gave Jim his card at our luncheon on Tuesday and he loved it! That made me very happy!
So there you have it another card this week...wow I am on a roll! Now, I am heading down to my scrapbooking room to finish up more baby cards.
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

WOJ # 44....Sweet baby girl and some pics from our camping trip!!!!

Just a quick post tonight to show you this baby card I made for a friend who ordered two cards from me! I still need to make the second one for a boy...that's on my "to do list" for tomorrow night, smile! I used Rach's fabulous sketch over at the WOJ challenge blog but I didn't make it in time to enter the challenge! I love this sketch and will definitely use it again!

The papers are BG Lemonade, Bazzill Bling cardstock and the light yellow is Bazzill Basics cardstock.
I stamped Willow on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured her and baby in with my Copics and added some Angel Wings shimmerz. the sentiments are Melissa Frances rub-ons. I added a few Prima flowers and some ribbon to finish it off!

We went camping at Port Burwell Provincial Park on the weekend. The weather wasn't too bad. We rode our bike into the small town and had ice cream and one day. We drove to Aylmer to get some groceries and it was very interesting to see the Mennonite and Amish that live in this area. We saw one Amish man at the grocery store in his horse and buggy.

I just love these windmills....

and I thought this was funny that we drove through....

and
I thought maybe some of my international blog followers would get a good kick out of this, smile!!!
Well, thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Just Magnolia # 17 & Simon Says Challenge...a wee bit late...Don't BUG me...!

Well, this card is pretty late and it has put me through the ringer let me tell ya, but I thought I would share it anyways! I started making it last weekend for the Just Magnolia # 17 Martine's Fabulous sketch and for the Buttons and Bows challenge at Simon says Stamp Challenge!
I had this idea to make the tag into a bookmark and I had the perfect sentiment in mind. So I typed it up on the computer and then I thought this sweet Tilda with a "bug" would be perfect for my "don't BUG me" bookmark!

I made my cardbase 6x6 from Bazzill Basics cardstock and used BG 6X6 Junebug papers and inked the edges with Distress inks and stamped the stitching with my Kelly Panacci stitch stamps with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
I stamped Tilda on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock and coloured her with my Copics then my little disaster happened...when I turned Tilda over onto my splat mat to add adhesive to the back of her, ink from my previous distressing and stamping transferred to her face. Needless to say she had a little Frankenstein thing happening with Kelly Panacci stitches on her face, lol!!! Well, I can laugh now but at the time I was sooooooo frustrated that I packed it in and well didn't get a chance to work on it until this afternoon! So, I coloured another Tilda and finished up the card and bookmark tag!

I used some of these Prima flowers for the first time and love them with the Junebug paper. The buttons are from my stash and the bows are tied with Karen Foster Scrappers Floss! I used a QK Ladybug die cut and cut out the sentiments on the tag with a QK tag and the sentiment on the card is cut out with my Oval Nesties. I add this yummy ribbon and some BG Junebug brads too!
So there ya have it! I am pretty happy with this card and tag after all that frustration and delay in getting it done!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

WOJ POM July.....A gift for Teacher!!!!

First off, Happy Canada Day!!! I hope you have a great day with friends and family and maybe even get to see the fireworks later! I also hope you are actually reading this post as I scheduled it and I am not so lucky with that, so will keep the fingers crossed that it worked out, lol!
I wanted to show you what I made for this months WOJ POM...a gift for teacher!
I bought these Mary Kay Glisten Winterberry Gift sets from my very bestest friend and Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, Dana, for the kids' teachers!
Then I made the apple shaped gift tags on my Silhouette with a QK digital download GSD file! I cut it out of Bazzill Bling cardstock and this fun Fancy Pants paper!
I stamped Willow and Oakley on Prism Simply Smooth White cardstock and coloured them with my Copics, I inked all the edges of the paper, assembled the cards, added the fun measuring tape twill and pop-dotted Willow and Oakley on the card!
Kieran had a really great and supportive teacher this year so I added this little special teacher charm that I picked up at Stamping Bella!

Here is the inside! I punched a hole with my Crop-A-Dile and laced through some more twill and tied it to the gift bag and I added the twill with the number for the grade that each kid will be going into next year! This is the inside of Hannah's card...I can't believe she is going into grade 5...where has the time gone, smile!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Just Magnolia # 11...It's Raining Love and Birthday Wishes!

Just a really quick post this afternoon to share this card that I made with the gorgeous sketch by Bev over on the Just Magnolia Challenge blog this week! I am heading over to my Mom's so she can colour my hair...time to cover up the nasty grey hairs, lol! It's a nice perk having a Mom for a hair stylist!!!!

I am just loving this BoBunny paper at the mo it is soooo super scrumptious and such a great colour combo!!!! I used my EK Success border punch and my Nestie flower dies that I first saw on Wild Sprinkles, Tori's fabulous blog and I just love what she does with them...they're so much fun! She even has a quick tutorial on how she colours them in! I have used chalk inks and sponge dauber thingy and added lots of Stardust Stickles!

Tilda is stamped on Prism Simply Smooth White cardstock and then I masked her and stamped the fence. I coloured the image with my Copics and cut it out with my circle Nesties and did the Out of the Box Nestie Technique so that I didn't have to cut of her pretty umbrella... I am totally lovin' this technique!!!!!

I used this gorgeous American Crafts ribbon that I got at Stamping Bella, I've been hording it 'til now, the sentiment is from WoJ and I coloured the heart gem with my Copic marker to coordinate!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

WoJ # 35 and Friday Sketchers # 57...Sweet Little Angel!

I made this card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge for this week's challenge, Paper Piecing and I used the great sketch over at Friday Sketchers for the card layout!
I used Willow with baby from the Whiff of Joy Women's Delight collection and this great K&Co. Berry Sweet paper that my stamping pal Jo sent me in a RAK it is sooo pretty and I used Bazzill Basics and Bazzill Bling cardstock!

I stamped Willow on Prism Simply Smooth White cardstock and coloured her in with my Copics and paper pieced the wee baby swaddled in this pretty pink flower pattern paper! I did the out of the box Nesties technique again as I didn't want to cut of any of willow's gown, as it is so beautiful! I used some scrap pieces of American Crafts ribbon from my stash. I cut the Nesties tag and stamped the WoJ sentiment. I left the die in place after embossing the tag and inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Scattered Straw!

Here is the inside...another one of the great WoJ sentiment from the new Women's Delight collection and some pretty prima flowers and MM brads! Since I was scrounging up the last bits of my ribbon here I didn't have enough to span the width of the card, so I used one bit on one side of the sentiment and another bit on the other of the sentiment and the Nestie rectangle hides that they don't actually meet in the middle! Now that is pretty good at using up the bits and pieces eh?! I am just a titch sad that this is the last of this yummy green plaid American Crafts ribbon!
Well, there you have it another card! Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek !

Another Whiff of Joy......Syd and Amanda...Perfect Love!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend! It is rather dreary and rainy here, so I have spent the day in my scrapbooking room making cards. I've made yet another card with the gorgeous Whiff of Joy stamps from the Women's Delight collection! I Know you are enjoying them as much as I am! This card is one that a friend at work ordered for her nephews upcoming wedding! The wedding colours are Brown and Pink and so I picked this MME Wild Asparagus paper and Bazzill Bling cardstock!

I stamped Willow and Oakley on Prism Simply Smooth white cardstock with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and coloured them with my Copics and Shimmerized the images here and there.

I made this card loosely based on the fabulous sketch that Bev designed for the Whiff of Joy Challenge last week. I have used this sketch about 4 times now and just love, love, love, it! I also used the Out of the Box Nestie technique using Rach's fabulous tutorial again and I love how this looks!!!

You may be wondering what's up with the flip flop charm! Well, the bride and brides maids are wearing flip-flops and there will be baskets of filp-flops for guests to change into if they wish. I think that sounds like a fun idea! I know I always end up kicking of my uncomfortable shoes at a wedding so I can get up and dance, smile. I got this flip-flop charm and many other adorable charms at Stamping Bella last weekend and I used Bev's fabulous tutorial to attach the charm to the card. I found the chain at the dollar store and had some jumper rings in my stash. I used a cheap ol' silver brad to attach it and then covered it with the pretty rose. I used Zip Dry glue so these flower aren't going anywhere, smile. I added some tulle that my sweet friend Kim sent me and some half pearls from the dollar store.

Here is the inside sentiment and dove image are both from the WoJ Women's Delight collection.

So, there you have it! Thanks for stopping by to have a wee peek!

Sweet Precious Friend...Thank you Anki!!!

I wanted to share this card that I made for my very good blogging friend Anki! She was so helpful recently when I had a mix up with my Magnolia Spring stamp kit order! She was kind enough to make several phone calls to Magnolia for me and straighten things out! It was so kind of her to take the time to do all this leg work for me!!! I was so thrilled when my stamps finally arrived from Sweden a week or so later!!! Thanks Anki!!! You are such a sweetie for helping me out and don't think my stamps would have ever arrived without your assistance!!!! This is what I love most about stamping, cardmaking and blogging...the fabulous friends that you make along the way!!!!

This is my fave Tilda from the spring set Chasing Butterflies and I just love the beehive too! I used this fabulous Scenic Route paper again...loving it, loving the colour combo!

I sent Anki this wee bumblebee cell phone charm handmade by my friend Kate! A few people have asked me if Kate has a blog or a website. I don't believe she does but I will suggest it the next time I see her, smile!!!!
I finished the inside too!
Do you realize I have posted three days in a row that is a new record for me! I personally can't believe it! Well, gotta go see who gets the boot on Dancing with the Stars!!! Unfortunately, I think Ty is heading home but he sure is a sweetie!!!!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peep at my card!!!

WOJ # 29...sketch by Katharina...Thanks a Bunch!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!! I hope you are all having a terrific day!!! I am!The kids gave me the gifts that they made at school. Hannah made a cute little puppy from a face cloth, elastic bands, googly eyes, felt and some ribbon! It is really adorable! So, much so, that I think she is going to end up keeping it for herself...I just get visitation rights, lol!!! Kieran made me a card with flowers with little Popsicle stick stems that you can pull out of the pot. On them he wrote things that he will do for me like, tidy his room but the best one is "I will listen to you"...ah, bless him, smile!!!
Well, it is has been a quiet day for me playing in my craft room, the kids have been playing with friends and Chris is watching the World Championship hockey game between Canada and Russia! I can hear him yelling at the TV every once and while, lol!!!

So, I made this card this morning following the fabulous sketch by Katharina for WOJ Challenge # 29! I scored large the other day when I popped into Winners and found My Minds Eye 12X12 paper pads with 180 sheets in it for $16.99. I bought the Magnolia pad and Wild Asparagus pad! This paper is from the Wild Asparagus pad and I just love it!
I stamped Willow, made a mask and then stamped the basket on Prism Simple Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured it in with my Copics, sponged the edges with Distress inks and cut and embossed the image with my new Nesties. I used the largest Nestie die to cut out Willow so, I traced the outside edge of the die on cardstock and then cut it out to make the mat.
I used my new Flower Soft again (sorry but you are going to be seeing a lot of the this stuff...I just love it,smile!) to cover up the eggs in the basket now it looks like Willow was picking flowers!

I finished the inside too!
So, there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

BasicGrey Challenges # 34...Anthea's Fabulous Sketch...You are Amazing, Mum!

Hey! I'm so glad it's the weekend, aren't you!? I am also glad that it is BasicGrey Challenges day too, smile! I have been itching to share this card with you that I made using the fabulous sketch that BG DT Anthea designed for the challenge this week! I hope you can play along with us and I hope you can pop on over to the other BG DT members and see the beautiful creations, all so different, but all using this fabulous sketch!!!

So, My Mum and Dad have been in Florida at Walt Disney World this week on holiday! They get back today and I'm so excited to hear all about the trip! I just love, love, love Disney World! I wish I could have gone to see my girlfriend, Snow White! Instead I will just have to find out how she and is doing from my Mum,smile. I will go and see my Mum tomorrow to hear all about the trip and bring her this card for Mother's Day!!!

I used a lot of new stuff on this card and it was so much fun to make! I used BG Bittersweet papers as my Mum's favourite colour is red! I made the cardbase 6x6 from Bazzill cardstock and I followed Anthea's fabulous sketch! I wanted to use this Tilda as she is one of my all time favourites. I just love her little bloomers and wellies but because she has mushrooms in her apron I don't use her that often which is a shame really!!! So, I stamped Tilda on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock and made a mask by stamping her again on a post-it-note, cutting it out and placing it over Tilda, then I stamped the butterfly grass from the Chasing Butterflies collection and removed the mask! I coloured the image with my Copics markers and sponged the edges with Distress Inks. I cut out the image with my new Nesties that I ordered from The Shopping Channel!

So, I wanted to hide the mushrooms in Tilda's apron and I picked up some of this fun stuff called, Flower Soft, to do the trick! You get the best results with a PVA glue to adhere the Flower Soft. You can buy the Flower Soft glue but I used Stix2 PVA Glue and it worked beautifully. I also sprinkled on some Glamour Dust...very sparkly! When I bought the Stix2 Glue I picked up the Stix2 Transfer Foil and I used it on the little dots in the butterfly grass. I love this foil...sooo much fun and easy!

Here you can see the dimension that the Flower Soft gives to the card! I love these paper roses from the dollar store...I Shimmerized them and Tilda's wings! the metal frame I have had in my stash forever and it matched the antique gold foil I used on the image.

Here is the inside of the card....not sure how I missed that the sentiment panel was this crocked, smile, but I have since straighted it! The inside sentiments are Melissa Frances rub-ons!
So, there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! Hope you can join us at BasicGrey Challenges this week and I hope you have a great Mother's Day weekend!
