My Favourite Things Stamps...WSC # 32....Daughters are...!

Photobucket
Hey crafty friends! Hope you had a relaxing weekend and perhaps you had a little crafty time too! I sure did! I made this card following the sketch that they have this week for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge # 32! I decided to make an easel card for my friend who just had her first baby...a beautiful little girl!!! I used my new A La Mode Bundle of Baby stamp set which was perfect for my card! I just adore this sweet stamp and I teamed it up with some pretty MME Stella Rose, Gertie 6x6 papers! I coloured the image with my Copics and paper pieced her top, leggings and the blanket. I added some shading with my Prismacolor pencils and stamped around the edges of the image with my "Splotch" stamp from Rosewood Stamps.
Photobucket
I used my MFT Simply Scalloped Die-namics die and my Pretty Posies, Perfect Petals and Flower and Leaf Trio Die-namics to make all the flowers. I cut them from MFT My favorite Felt...I soooooo love the MFT felt it is fabulous stuff and cuts beautifully with the Die-namics dies. I cut the cork buttons with the Button Quartet Die-nmaics. I used one of the sentiments that comes with the Bundle of Baby stamp set and stamped it on a tag that I cut with a QuicKutz dies.

Here is the inside/bottom of the easel card...I stamped a shadow image in Lady Bug Memento ink and this sentiment is from a set that came in the Baby Bump MFT VIP kit.

Well, thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! Hope you have a great week!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps & Cute Card Thursday # 157... Cloud 9!!

Photobucket
Hey Krafty friends! well, I have been quite sick with a terrible, nasty, dreadful stomach flu! First, my son, Kieran, had it and then it hit me with a vengeance!!! I am slowly starting to come around, so it was so nice to finally feel well enough to get up out of bed and make a card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge! This week Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring CCT and they have a fab sketch this week! So, I hope you can join the challenge as they have Krafty rubber up for grabs...so what are you waiting for!? Let's get KRAFTY!

Photobucket
I have been dying to ink up this sweet image of Brigitte having a bubble bath from the Moonlight Whispers, Everyday Girls March Release! I coloured Brigitte up with my Copics to coordinate with my fave BasicGrey Hopscotch 6x6 papers. I also used my Splotch stamp from Frog's Whiskers Ink around the edges of the image with Desert Sand Memento ink. I searched my stash for some flowers that would match and I found these Prima Sugared flowers and thought they were pretty and sparkly! I added lost of Stickles to the bubbles in the bath and some sparkly ribbon too.  I also stamped some stitching with my Kelly Panacci Stitching Stamps and distressed the kraft circle mat with my Tim Holtz Tonic paper Distressing Tool. The sentiment actually comes with Judy from the 50's Inspired Release. Oh, and I should say that I flipped the gorgeous sketch to fit the image!

Photobucket
Here is the inside...can't seem to make a card without finishing the inside, even if it is just a little bit. The sentiment is from my fave set Kimmie's Everyday Sentiment set...this set it sooooooo worth buying...it has all the perfect sentiments that you will ever need or want!

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge that Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring this week! Please swing by the CCT blog and take a look at the fab sketch and gorgeous DT cards and I hope you can join us!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 63....Reduce, Reuse, Recycle...Sending my Love!

Photobucket

Good morning Krafty friends! Is it just me or did this week just zip by at breakneck speed or what? I didn't even get around to visiting all my lovely krafty peeps like I wanted too. I will make sure to pop by and say hi very soon though!

Well, today I'm sharing the card I made for the fun challenge that we have this week at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge blog! Firstly, I wanted to say, I did take a look at all the gorgeous cards submitted for my KKStamps Fiary Tale challenge last week. WOWZERS!!! You all made such beautiful cards and it was amazing to see all the beautiful and creative uses of the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Well, I hope you join us again this week as the uber talented, Krafty Girl, Melanie, has set the challenge and this week Melanie would like us to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle...this is such a fun challenge!!!  Melanie has used the gorgeous Stella Strawberry from the new January release, on her creation, you must check it out, her project and her colouring are simply divine and what a fabulously krafty project! If you join us and use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp on your creation then you will be entered into the random draw to win a Stella Strawberry stamp of your very own.

So, onto my card....I have to admit I wasn't all that creative with my 3 R's for this one but I am still quite happy with how my card turned out. I coloured up this sweet image, Rebecca Rasperberry with my Copics and I used my PrismaColored pencils and OMS to add in the blue shadowing and grass, à la Krafty Girl, Michele Boyer. I also used my new beloved "splotch" stamp from Frog's Whiskers ink stamps and stamped with Memento Dessert Sand ink. I love the way this splotch looks and have always admired this effect on Inge's beautiful cards where I've "lifted" this idea from, hope you don't mind, hun! I decided to team up Rebecca with some 12X12 BasicGrey Bittersweet papers that I had in my stash for a while and I also thought this brown grosgrain ribbon would be perfect for my card!  It was from the packaging of my Prima Painterly flowers and was perfect for my recycled item, in keeping with this week's challenge. I also, "reused" or more like "repurposed" some ugly dollar store chipboard photo turns and covered them with the BG Bittersweet paper.  I already had this Catslife Press stamp label stamped out on BG Bittersweet paper so I used it too and I added some Pretty pink Prima Painterly flowers with brown glittery domes and some Sakura Stardust pen to finish it off. The bottom sentiment actually comes with the sweet Stella Strawberry.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I really hope you can join us this week! Please make a stop by the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge blog for links to all the Krafty Girls cards. They have made stunning creations, as always, and they are sure to inspire you to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!

Have a stampin' great weekend!

Hugs,

WOJ Challenge # 2....Believe!!!

Well, my house is clean and I got all my errands done yesterday. So, I finally settled in to do some stamping and play along with my favourite stamping challenges. The WOJ challenge was top on my "to do" list and I was super psyched to ink up my new WOJ rubber that I ordered from ATS. I had a good idea of what I wanted to do for this card but I need to check out the deets for this weeks challenge first. Well, when I saw that it was "stitching" I was more than a little befuddled, lol!! Ya see, me and my sewing machine aren't on speaking terms, lol!!! I so don't sew...my hubby does, though! He even made our kitchen balloon valences, pretty good ,eh?! But he has gone to his hockey pool for the day...so what is a girl to do!?
Well, I thought I would have to go the faux route and pulled out some DCWV rub-on stitches that I had in my stash.

I am not sure that I really like how the card turned out. I think the black stitching is too dark but I was afraid that the white wouldn't show up very well.

The card base is a 6X6 piece of black Core'dinations cardstock (love Core'dinations cardstock even if I don't sand it, tear it or distress it...it is still fabulous). I used some new patterned paper, Boule de Neige Collection, from Harmonie and matted it on some green Core'dinations cardstock and applied the stitching rub-ons around the edges.

I stamped Willow with Lantern on Georgia Pacific paper with my Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copics markers. Then I added a few highlights with some white acrylic paint and added some sparkle with my Sakura stardust pen. Then I cut around the image leaving a small border. I also, stamped Winter Night from Rosewood stamps on Georgia Pacific paper with Archival Brilliance Black Graphite ink and added some Crystal Stickles. I matted the Winter Night image with some salmon pink Core'dinations cardstock and tied some coordinating Harmonie Ribbon around it.

I used my new Imaginisce "Snag'em" stamp set called "Believe". I stamped the sentiment "Believe" on a scrap of Georgia Pacific paper with black Staz-on ink. Gotta love these cute stamps I have picked up a few of the different Christmas/Winter sets and for $1.50, ya just can't go wrong! Then, I added a little more Crystal Stickles here and there and decided to put a few of my new small pink BellaBaubles in the centre of the snowflakes on the pp.

This card is starting to grow on me but I"m still not too keen on the faux stitching. Thinkin' I need to get hubby to show me how to work the sewing machine, smile!!!

Thanks for stopping by and havin' a wee look-see!!!

Viva Las Vegas & Friday Sketchers # 18...Snowed In...So I am a little late!!!

Well, I am back from Sin City! We had a great time in Vegas....Viva Las Vegas!!! So, I wasn't really snowed in, he he he, that is a reference to my latest card!!! Actually, it was about 40 degrees Celsius the whole time we where there but it is true what they say about the "dry" heat. It does make it a little more bearable without all the humidity like we have here. I have to tell you that it sure is a LOT of walking though. The casino/hotels are massive and "the strip" goes on forever. My feet were sooooo sore! I won't gross you out with the details but if you ever venture to Las Vegas, forgo fashion for comfort and bring comfy walking shoes, that is my little tip, wink! We did have a little luck at the slot machines too. We won about $600 in Paris (the casino). That was very exciting!!! We aren't big gamblers but it was fun to play a little on the slots. I don't know how to play any card games so we just stuck with the slot machines. I can see how it could become addicting though. But I already have an addiction, lol! I would rather spend my $$$ on stamps and pretty paper. Hubby is saving our casion winnings for our next vacation!

We also, saw two Cirque Du Soleil shows, O and Zumanity. Both were absolutely fabulous and definitely worth seeing! Zumanity, was a little, shall I say, risque (it is rated R as many of the female performers are topless) but it was very funny too. It was very much like a Vaudeville show... I enjoyed it a lot! And instead of getting a t-shirt that says Las Vegas on it for a souvenir. I got a fabulous leather purse that has the Zumanity Cirque Du Soleil logo embossed on it. I am so in love with my new purse...it is gorgeous!!!

We have been back for a few weeks now but I came down with a shore throat (viral) when we got back. So, I was just feeling a wee bit punky and not very creative or up to sitting in front of the computer. That is why I haven't posted in a few weeks or visited any of your blogs or left a comment...my apologies. But I was so thankful for all the lovely comments that were left for me while I was away. I had the comments forwarded to my blackberry...it was nice to get to read them on our drive to the airport and waiting for our flight, smile!

So, I am a little behind on all of the challenge blogs that I like to participate in. I really wanted to make a card with Friday Sketchers # 18 by Jacqueline...it is a fabulous sketch...i just love it! I have to tell you, I am not a huge fan of our Canadian winters as I'm petrified of driving in the snow...I am a big chicken, giggle! But I have been so inspired by all the beautiful Christmas and winter themed cards that I have seen on various blogs that I wanted to make a wintery card too. I especially wanted to use this new stamp that I picked up at a LSS. It is by a local Canadian Stamp CO. called Rosewood Canada I hope to make a trip to their store as they have some great stamps...I really like the Canadiana stamps. That is where you can find the Snowed In stamp on their website and I also bought Winter Night too. I loved the name of this stamp so much that I used it for the sentiment on my card.

I made the card base 6x6 out of some blue Bazzill Basics cardstock and used some left over BG Figgy Pudding, 6X6 pp and 12X12 pp, from last years Christmas cards. I stamped "Snowed In" and this cute little Tilda stamp (I think she is called waiting Tilda) on Georgia Pacific paper with Archival Brilliance Black Graphite ink and coloured them in with my Copics. I used white acrylic paint to add a few highlights to Tilda and some crystal Stickles on both images. I cut both images with my circle Nestibilities and embossed the edges too. I also cut some snowflake pp with my Nestibilites to mat the image of Tilda and pop-dotted the image. I cut a few QK snowflakes and added a glitter brad to centre of the large snowflake and a few red rhinestones from the dollar store to the small QK snowflakes. I also added some crystal Stickles to the snowflake die cuts too.

The sentiment is printed with the 2 peas font Falling Leaves (one of my all time favourite fonts). Well, I am pretty happy with this card and It was nice to make a wintery card but I don't look forward to the real deal anytime soon. I would love to just keep the white stuff on my cards and not on the roads, lol!

Thanks for stopping by...oh, I have added the new "following" feature to my blog...don't you just love this feature, I do?! So sign up to follow my blog! I know I have been signing up to follow all the fabulous blogs that I love to visit...that way I am sure not to miss any fabulous creations, smile!!
