Whiff of Joy Challenges # 92...A sketch by Me and WOJ Challenges DT Call!

Photobucket
Good morning crafty friends! I hope you're all having a great week so far! It is Wednesday my fave day as it is almost the weekend, lol! It is also time for a fun challenge over at Whiff Of Joy Challenges and this week we have a sketch by little ol' me, eekkk, hope you like it! I hope you can join us and give my sketch a go! Please visit the WOJC DT as they all have gorgeous creations sure to inspire you! Remember to please use a WOJ stamp to be eligible for the prize.

Here is my sketch....

Now, on a sad note, I have decided it is time to stepped down from the WOJ challenges DT and this challenge is my last DT Challenge but I am sure not my last WOJ challenge.  I have soooooo enjoyed my time on the WOJ Challenges team, with such a fabulous and talented group of ladies! So,  we are having a WOJC DT call to add to the team...so why not join in just add the letters DT after your name!
Photobucket
I have had this idea for this card for a while as I really wanted to use Business Willow with these Melissa Frances rub-ons. I thought this would be a great card for a friend who just landed the dream job or big promotion at work. So for my card, I pulled out my beloved Echo Park Life is Good pp and I stamped up Business Willow and coloured her with my Copics.

I made a crinkled seam binding bow with seam binding I dyed and crinkled myself. It was originally white Hug Snug seam binding but I spritzed it with water and Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist (you might want to wear gloves unless you like having red fingers, smile). Then I crinkled it all up in a ball and squished it into the corner of a plastic sandwich bag, secured it with an elastic band and let it sit overnight. The next day, I took it out and let it air dry as it was still a bit damp and there you have it....crinkled seam binding...super easy! Really you only need to get white seam binding if you have a large selection of Glimmer Mist and you can dye your own in any colour. I also added a few Prima flowers and some half pearls here and there.

Here is the inside sentiment...

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I hope you get some crafty time over the next two weeks and can join us at the WOJ Challenges....try my sketch and enter the DT call!

Have a stampin' great day!

Photobucket

Good Morning crafty friends! Well its hump day...yuppers...Wednesday, already! We are halfway through the week, folks...YAY! It is also time for another fab challenge over at Whiff of Joy challenges! This week we would like to see you make a Christmas card! We thought we would help you get some of your Christmas cards done with this challenge. Please remember that you must use a WOJ stamp to enter the WOJ challenge. We have had many entries, of late, that did not have a WOJ image on them, therefore, they were not eligible for the prize. Please, check on the Whiff of Joy website for all the WOJ stamps to make sure that you are using a WOJ stamped image!
Photobucket
So, for my card I decided to make a "Christmassy" Baby card! I thought MME Colorful Christmas paper that I just love from last year would be perfect for a baby card!I used the fabulous sketch that they have this week at Friday Sketchers for this card too! The cardbase is 6x6 from white AC cardstock and mated with light blue and pink cardstock! I added some cotton lace and some ribbon, and Prima flowers with pearls. I stamped this sweet image, one of my all time fave, WOJ stamps, of Willow with toddler, from the Wedding and Baby Collection and coloured it with my Copics. I masked the image and then used the new Magnolia snowflakes from the Fall StampClub Kit and stamped around the image in Gingerbread VersaMagic Dew Drop Chalk ink to get a soft look to the snowflakes. I then cut the image with my large rectangle Nesties used the die as a stencil and inked with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I added some Glamour Dust to the image for a little sparkle. The sentiment is from WOJ as well and is stamped on a Nesties tag.

Here is the inside...this is a WOJ sentiment as well from the Wedding and Baby Collection.

Whiff of Joy Challenges # 90....Distressing...'Tis The Season...!

Photobucket

Good morning crafty friends! Still no computer yet, but I think I am going to take the plunge and get an iMac. Hope it i s the right decision....eekkk! I hope to be able to visit again real soon...I miss you all terribly!

Well, today we have a new challenge over at the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog. We would like to see Distressing on your creations and you have the next 2 weeks to join us! Please remember that to be eligible for any prize you must use a WOJ image. The WOJC DT have made such gorgeous creations so pop by and see what inspiring creations they have made for this challenge!

So for my card I decided to use one of my Henry the Mouse images that are just so cute but for some reason I have neglected to use them! I coloured Henry with my copics and cut him out. I added some "Dimensional Snow paint" to the fur trim of his hat and then sprinkled it with Glamor Dust while it was still wet! I Also used some new Echo Park pp that I just LOVE called Merry Christmas. to Distress the card I roughed up the edges of the paper with my Tim Holtz distress tool and applied some Distress Crackle paint in Picket Fence. I also went around the paper and sponged with gold Metallic Rub-ons. To embellish I used ribbon from my stash and prima flowers with half-pearls. The green ones where white and I coloured them with a green Copic marker. The sentiment on the front of the card is an element from the Echo Park pp pack!

Photobucket

Here is the inside...very simple and I didn't distress the inside papers as it makes the card very difficult to close properly....the sentiment is a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sentiment!

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I hope you can join us at the WOJ challenges!

Whiff of Joy Challenge # 85...Door Hanger...Fun in the Sun!

Hey crafty friends! Glad you could pop by for the new Challenge we have at the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog! We would like to see just how creative you can get....we would like you to make a fun door hanger! Just remember you need to use a Whiff of Joy image to be eligible for any prize that we may be offering up! The WOJC DT has such gorgeous and creative ideas for you!!! I am sure you will be inspired to join the fun!!!

So here is my door hanger...there is a little story to go along with this creation...well, as you know we have been on several camping trips this summer...so on our trip to Arrowhead Provincial Park we stopped at a cute Cottage/beachy type shop and both Hannah and I ended up getting theses adorable flip flops...we got the same ones except mine are brown and black.

aren't they cute...well, When I saw the little chipboard hanger that they were on I knew I had the perfect use for it too! I love using beautiful clothing tags and re-purposing package for my crafty creations.

So I covered the chipboard in pp from the Pink Paislee Queen Bee paper pad and sanded all the the edges with my hand dandy BasicGrey Precision file set. It really comes in handy to get into the tight spots. I then coloured up this adorable image of Henry basking in the sun with a cool adult beverage in "paw",lol! I made the little panel from Colorbok cardstock and cut two and glued them together to make it a little more sturdy. I hung it with some ribbon from the hanger and I punched all the holes with my Crop-A-Dile...even the ones in the very thick chipbord hanger...could not live without my Crop-A-Dile!!!!

I used my bow easy for the first time...well, I have attempted it before but with no luck! So, I looked up a video on YouTube and plunked down in front of the computer and followed along step by step! YAY! I finally have me a bow easy bow...well two in fact!!! I embellished with a few Prima flowers, and pearls and printed the message on the computer. The top sentiment "Fun in the Sun" is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Well, I am really happy how this turned out...I have to confess this is not my front door...mine doesn't look that good, he, he,he! So, I drove over to my mom and dad's to take the pic. Well, my Dad even loved this little creation of mine! He called me to ask where I put it, after I left his place and I said I brought it home with me...he was so disappointed! I think he really likes little Henry.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my door hanger...I hope you can join us at the Whiff of Joy Challenge!

Happy Stampin'!!!

I coloured the image with my Copics, Cut it out with my Nesties and left the image in the die and used Pumice Stone Distress inks to colour in the background. Then I added Red Fun Flock to her cap!

Here you can see the fun Flock up close! It was my first time using it and it was so easy and looks great! I love it when you discover a new, fun product from doing a challenge! I also used this "fuzzy" brown felt border by MME that my blogging pal and BG Challenges teamie, TaraW, sent me in a RAK. I love it as it already had adhesive on it and it's so soft and fuzzy...just perfect for this challenge. I added some suede twine that is a bit fuzzy too. I embellished with some Prima flowers, half pearls and the sentiments are Melissa Frances rub-ons.

Here is the inside!

Whiff of Joy Challenge # 82...A fab Sketch by Kim...Lazy Summer Days!

Good morning! It is time for another fun challenge over at the Whiff Of Joy Challenge blog. This week Kim has designed the most beautiful sketch for us to play with! I really hope you can join us...just one rule though, you must use a Whiff Of Joy image for the challenge!
I was super excited to ink up this sweet image of Willow Reading from the WOJ June Kit all the stamps and sentiments in this set are fab but this Willow is my fave! I thought she would look good sitting on the rose swing from the WOJ Wedding collection, like she is in the garden reading! I coloured her with my Copics and cut the image out with my long rectangle Nestie. I inked the background with Spun Sugar distress inks.
I made the card 6x6 from Bazzill cardstock and used BoBunny Jazmyne papers that are so sparkly and beautiful...just love the colours in this collection! For embellishments I added Prima flowers and bling, one BG fabric brad and punched my MS butterfly punch from QuicKutz cork material. I stamped the sentiment with Memento ink on a QK tag cut form BG paper.

Here is the inside..the sentiments on the QK tags are Kimmie's Beachy sentiments and the word friend is from a clear stamp set that I have had kickn' around in my stash for a while...it actually said "friends" I just didn't ink up the "s".

Well, I am really happy with how this card turned out with Kim's gorgeous sketch to inspire me and I love this Willow to bits. I know I'm going to get a lot of use of her...she is soooooo sweet!
I hope you can join us and I hope you can take a few minutes to pop over the WOJ Challenge blog and see all the stunning creations from the DT! You will be sooooo inspired to join to us!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Whiff of Joy # 81...An inspirational Photo Challenge.

Hello Friends! Thanks for stopping by today! We have another wonderful challenge for you at the WOJ Challenge...an inspirational photo challenge. I hope you can join us...you have 2 weeks to make your card and play along! There is lots of room for interpretation on this kind of challenge too. Maybe you will be inspired by the colours or an element or two in the pic...whatever bit of inspiration you take from the picture just make sure that you use a Whiff of Joy stamp image on your creation to be eligible for the prize.
For my card I used the main colours in the pic...green, red and black. I made the card 6x6 from black AC cardstock and matted with red and green carstock and used my Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety 6x6 pad. I also wanted to incorporate the kitchen element into my card so I decided to use Melinda the helping Angel. I coloured her with my copics and cut her out with my Nesties and inked the background with Old Paper and Vintage Photo Distress inks. I think she is so pretty and very sweet to lend a hand with the dishes, smile.

I thought these wood flowers that I had in my stash would be a perfect embellishment! It incorporates the wood table and chairs from the pic and I sponged them with Pine Needles, Barn Door, and Brushed Corduroy Distress inks. The scalloped edge was cut with my MFT Die-Namics die. I added a Mellisa Frances rub-on to the QuicKutz Market tag cut from Kraft cardstock and the gem represents the crystal vase in the pic.
Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my WOJ card today! If you get a chance to get crafty over the next 2 weeks, we would be happy to have you join us and look forward to seeing you WOJ creations!
Happy Stampin'
