Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - March 15 - Rainbow...Lucky Me...

Hello stampin' friends! Welcome to the NEW challenge over at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Rainbow!  I knew when I saw the NEW CCIC challenge was Rainbow I had to use my Reverse Confetti Weather it Together Stamp set and coordinating Weather it Together Confetti Cuts. I thought I would do some watercolouring too; inspired by the pretty vases of coloured water in the inspiration photo.

I needed some inspiration for the card design and found this great sketch over at Sunday Stamps...perfect for my rainbow card!

I used a technique that I've coined "Reverse Watercolour".  I made several swatches of watercoloured paper by laying down a watercolour wash with my Peerless Watercolours. I set the sheets aside and allowed them to dry. When dry, I strategically die-cut various shapes from the water coloured paper and stamp over the watercolouring. I cut the circles from various watercoloured swatches of paper with the Reverse Confetti Circles 'N Scallops Confetti Cuts. I stamped the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti A Friend Like You Stamp set  on the large yellow circle. I cut the clouds and sun from the watercoloured swatches and then stamped with the coordinating stamps from Weather it Together Stamp set.  I added a smattering of Your Next Stamp Gumdrops in various rainbow colours. Finally, I used Heidi Swapp Black Velvet Color Shine spray mixed with a little water and spattered the card and added an AC Hemp cord bow to the sun.

Thanks So much for stopping by and havin' a wee peek at my Reverse Confetti rainbow card for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Rainbow.

If you arrived here from Lisa Lara's beautiful blog you are in the right spot....

I got some sweet SPD happy mail the other day and I couldn't wait to ink up the NEW SPD Caffeine Addict, SPD Espresso Yourself stamp sets and pair it with the coordinating SPD Coffee to Go Cup SugarCuts! I was inspired to use the SPD colours for my card...such a great colour combo Pink, Green and Brown - I used Cotton Candy, Sour Apple, Chocolate Brown, Kraft and Primitive White Heavyweight Cardstock. I also followed the fab sketch over at Retro Sketches # 204 for my card layout.

I used the Heart Journal Card SugarCuts and used the "cut and re-cut technique" to make the panel thinner as called for in the sketch. I then stamped the word Latte from the Espresso Yourself Stamp set several times in Hot Fudge Premium Dye Ink. I cut the tag with the Gift Tag Sugar Cuts from Kraft and randomly stamped some "coffee stains" from the Coffee Addict Stamp set. I popped up the Coffee to Go Cup on the gift tag and stamped the "birthday wishes" sentiment from the Espresso Yourself Stamp set on a stitched flag from the Stitched Flags SugarCuts. Finally, I added a heart embellishment cut with the fabulous hearts from the Heart Journal Card SugerCuts. I added a sprinkling of brown Gumdrops and tied the tag with AC brown twine.

I finished the inside of my card too....I added another Coffee To Go Cup and popped it up on a panel cut with the Zig Zag Stitched Circle SugarCuts and stamped another sentiment from the Espresso Yourself Stamp set on a stitched flag cut with the Stitched Flags SugarCuts. I added another cute heart from the Heart Journal Card SugarCuts and sprinkled a few more brown Gumdrops and tied the stitched flag with more brown twine.

Thanks SO much for hopping by and having a wee peek at the SPD birthday card I made to celebrate SugarPea Designs 2nd Birthday with the Coffee Addict, Espresso Yourself Stamp sets and Coffee To Go Cup SugarCuts.
