Reverse Confetti & Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Birthday - You're Fintastic

Hello stampin' friends! I am SO happy that I was able to get crafty again! I made this FUN birthday card with the NEW Reverse Confetti, Oceans of Love Stamp set and Oceans of Love Confetti Cuts. I ordered this sweet stamp set from, Simon Says Stamp, along with some other Reverse Confetti Stamps from the new release. I am entering my card, You're Fintastic, in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Birthday Celebration!

I used my "Reverse" water-colouring technique on this card....I just love doing this and find it much less time consuming than water-colouring each image. I used the "smooshing" technique with my Distress inks to create sheets of water-coloured paper and then strategically stamped the images on the paper to get the desired watercolour effect. I did go in with my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Watercolour pens and add some extra definition/contrast to the adorable little sea-turtle...I've been calling him Squirt, lol and some of his friends!  I also stamped some images from the Reverse Confetti Mermaid Kisses Stamp set from my stash.

I embellished with some hemp twine tied to the sentiment strip where I stamped the sentiment from the Oceans of Love Stamp set and I added a sprinkling of sparkly blue YNS Gumdrops.

I created the water-coloured background for the scene again using the "Smooshing" technique with my Tim Holtz Distress inks and then strategically cut out several different colours with the NEW Circle of Waves Confetti Cuts. I also created a frame using my MFT Circle STAX Die-namics cut from MFT Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock and popped it up with foam adhesive.

It doesn't show in the photos but I added some sparkle with my ZIG Wink of Stella Clear glitter pen.

I finished the inside of the card too. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from an old Reverse Confetti Stamp set - Monkey Business. I don't know if you are like this but I really like all the fonts on a card, inside and out, to match.  I also used a sentiment from the NEW Oceans of Love Stamp set that is super cute.

Thank you SO much for stopping by and having a little look at my card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Birthday Celebration using the NEW Reverse Confetti Oceans of Love Stamp set and Confetti Cuts.

Simon Says Stamp...Splitcoast Love Fest 2014 & MFTWSC164...Everday Blessings!

Hello stampin' friends! I made my card for the My Favorite Things Stamps Wednesday Stamp Club - MFTWSC164...they have a fabulous sketch again this week! It was also a great opportunity to join the FUN Die Crazy Challenge that Simon Says Stamp is having for the Splitcoast Love Fest 2014!

I love this sketch...it made quick work of this card!

Have you ever found inspiration from random object in your home? Well, this morning I found inspiration from a bottle of Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion that was on my bathroom counter. So, I pulled out some MFT Replenishments Heavyweight Card Stock Olive, Natural and Primitive Cream for my colour scheme. This week's MFTWSC164 sketch is fabulous and since it made quick work of the layout I decided to try some "techniques". I used my MFT Fishnet Stencil to emboss the Primitive Cream Heavyweight Card Stock and I loved how it looks but I thought I would add a little more colour and left the paper in the stencil and inked with Tim Holtz Forest Moss Distress Ink. I cut the embossed and inked paper with the large rectangle from Blueprints 11.

 photo MFTWSC164LOVEFEST2014ID_edited-1RS4_zpscfe5c384.jpg

I used lots of dies on this card...my Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Layers STAX, the Heirloom Label Die-namics and Pierced Oval STAX. The Aveeno bottle had a silhouette of a flower on it that reminded me of the beautiful Lisa Johnson Designs Peaceful Wildflowers Stamps set. So, I cut the Primitive Cream Heavyweight Card Stock with the LJD Wildflowers Die-namics and then stamped the Wildflowers in Natural Premium Dye Ink.  I stamped the swatch of paint from the Abstract Art Stamp set in Natural Premium Dye Ink and then stamped the sentiment from the LJD Cheerful Blessings in Olive Premium Dye ink. To finish it off I added some splatters with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Chartreuse.

I finished the inside of the card too....I added more LJD Peaceful Wildflowers and another sentiment from the LJD Cheerful Blessings Sentiment set.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and having a little peek at my card for this week's MFTWSC164 Sketch and for the LOVEFEST2014I Simon Says Stamp - Die Crazy Challenge over at the Splitcoast Love Fest!

Also, Sunday is my daughter, Hannah's 12th b-day and I can't believe how grown up she is now...where has the time gone!? She is almost as tall as I am now...how did that happen!? Well, I am kinda short so that isn't too difficult, smile! Well, the time sure flies by doesn't it!?

Well, today I have a card to share for the new challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp Challenge! last week you all made such gorgeous creations with Jane's beautiful sketch!  So for my card today I have used one of the sweet PB Transparent stamps from the Mimi in Paris set. I love Mimi she is absolutely adorable! I love colouring her with my Copics too. She colours up  quickly and she always looks so cute! I stamped Mimi with VersaFine Black Onyx ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to get a good crisp stamped image. I then coloured her with my Copics, cut the image out with my Circle Nesties and inked with Mustard Seed Distress ink. Don't colour with your Copics and VersFine ink as it is not compatable until your emboss with clear embossing powder. I matted the image using my Lacey Circle Nestie. I used LilyKate BasicGrey 6x6 pad. I stamped all the papers with my Kelly Panacci Stitching Stamps with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I added some yellow crinkled seam binding with a BasicGrey button! I added lots of purple bling here and there and all the way around the image. The sentiment is from a My Favourite Things Stamps set called Meet Me at the Cafe.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I hope you can squeeze in some crafty time and join the fun challenge that we have this week! Please stop by the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog and check out the beautiful Lemon and Lavender creations by our wonderful DT!

I coloured him up with my Copics and cut out the image with my Circle Nesties and left the image in the die and inked with Pumice Stone Distress ink. I then cut a circle a little bigger than the image with my circle cutter to make a mat and distressed the edges with my Tonic Tim Holtz Distressing tool. For the card I used the My Minds Eye Lime Twist Happy Go lucky 6x6 paper pad. I added a little twill tape some Prima  flowers and the sentiment is made with the My Favorite Things Say What Die-namics Stamps and Die Set. I also cut a butterfly with the MFT Butterflies Die-namics from cork material. To finish the card off I sprinkled some green gems here and there and added some Stickles to the wee butterfly!

So, just pick a line from the Bingo card either horizontally, vertically or diagonally and then use those items on your card or creation. The DT is also featuring The Greeting Farm stamps today. It is not a requirement of the challenge but if you have any TGF stamps we would love to see them in combination with the Bingo challenge!!!

Here is the Bingo grid for this week's challenge!!!
For my card I have used the 3rd vertical row...Flowers, Brads, Sentiment! I used my new and fave BasicGrey 6x6 Sweet Threads papers and brads for this card. I am afraid you will be seeing a lot of it as I just love the colours in these papers! I finally inked up this sweet Ebony stamp that I have had in my stash forever. She is so cute and I'm so happy with how she turned out. I'm especially happy with her hair....I don't always get the hair looking right. I coloured her with my Copics and cut out around her and for the sentiment I thought it would be fun to use this phrase circle that I cut on my Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter. I cut two scalloped borders with my MFT Die-namics Simply Scallops border die and layered them. I added the BG Sweet Threads brads to dot the "i"s and the exclamation mark. I added a few prima flowers with more brads to finish it off. I inked all the edges of the papers with Amaretto Powder Puff ink....love, love, love these Powder Puff chalk inks.
