Dottie's World Sunday Challenge....For a Teen by Adele...Happy Birthday ~16 Totally a Teen!!! & Some Sad News!!!

Well, yesterday was a busy day and today will be too! I helped Chris build a shed in the backyard from a kit that he got at Costco. It was actually kinda fun...Shhhh...don't tell him I said that or I will have to help him out like that more often, smile! I was actually pretty good at following the directions and visualizing how it was suppose to go together from the pics in the instruction manual...kinda proud of myself!!! It was a beautiful day to be outside and I even got a little sun...I didn't think to put any sun screen on so I am a little burnt. I also tried to get around and say "hi" but my computer (or blogger) wasn't cooperating...not sure what's up with that...eeekk! Hope it isn't my computer! Kieran has his First Communion so another busy day today!!!!

Now for the sad news....I unfortunately had to let Louise and Karen know that I was steeping down from Dottie's World Sunday Challenge...I was really sad to have to do that as I do love the Holly & Madison images soooo and Mikey is such a cutie!!! I have been having printer issues (so I need a new one soon when the budget allows) and it is a laser jet printer which means the ink is not compatible with my Copics! This has been the major issue for me!!! I have been spraying my images with a fixative and the fumes are killing me...not to mention all the stress of my printer working on and off!!! So, this is, very sadly, my last DT card for Dottie's World..sniffle, sniffle! Karen, Louise and all the ladies at DW Sunday Challenge have been just fabulous to work with and I will miss them and the fun chit chat at the DW DT Forum!

This week's challenge was set by Adele and it was great fun! I really enjoyed making this card!!!! I used this fabby new American Crafts Teen paper collection. The cardbase is 6X6, cut from some Black Bazzill Basics cardstock! I was yackin' on the phone with my mum when I was making this card and I was rummaging around on my desk and saw this fancy label that I'd cut on my Silhouette months ago! It was a perfect fit for Madison and I was so happy with how it looks on this card. I ran the black piece through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and did the same to the number 16 and the QK photo corner! the ribbon is American Crafts too!!!

I printed Madison on Prism Simply Smooth White cardstock and coloured her with my Copics! I sponged around her with some pink Metallic Rub-Ons to give her a bit of a pink glow and It doesn't show in the pic but I used my Sakura Glaze pen and added some gloss to her lips and went over the cord, ipod and her bracelet! It looks fab IRL!!!

Well, that is a very sad post for me!!!! I will really miss the Dottie's World Sunday Challenge DT they are just the kindest ladies!!! I have to tell you my 9 year old daughter, Hannah, is totally bummed out too! She just adores Holly and Madison, so there are two very long faces here at the Godfrey household!!!!

So, a big, big thank you hug to Louise, Karen, Juliet, Adele, Nicola, Kat and Vanessa for making my very short time on DW so much fun!!!! Go check out their fab DT cards!!!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! Hope you have a great day!!!!

Dottie's World Sunday Challenge...Hand Made by Nicola...You Made My Day!

Happy Easter everyone! I just quietly snuck down here to type up my Dottie's world Sunday Challenge post, as my kidos are still in bed! I managed to eat all the chocolates that the Easter Bunny put around my computer...I think it is safe to say he left them for me...well, I hope so, lol! I will ask him when he wakes up, smerk!!!

For this week's challenge Nicola set a tough one, for me anyways, and I am not totally happy with this card but it is starting to grow on me! I cut my cardbase 4.5X6 from some Bazzill Basics cardstock and embossed it with my Cuttlebug folder and embossed some lines to frame the embossing with my Socr-Pal. To make the embossing stand out a little more I add a touch Metallic Rub-ons here and there!

I printed Madison in Asia on Georgia Pacific cardstock and coloured her with my Copics and add lots of Stickles! I cut the image with my Curvy Rectangles Nesties and embossed it too and again went around the image with more Metallic Rub-ons. Then I cut a few QK 2X2 flowers and sprinkled them around and add some American Crafts ribbon from my stash and the sentiment is from My Favourite things.

Well, I better go see if any one wants to hunt for chocolate eggs before I eat them all, he, he, he!!!

Hope you have a beautiful Easter Sunday with family and maybe after your big Easter dinner you can squeak in some crafty time!!!!

Dottie's World Sunday Challenge....All things Bright and Beautiful...Happy Easter!!!

It's Sunday again, folks! That means time for Dottie's World Sunday challenge! This week our lovely and talented, Juliet, set the challenge and she has provided great inspiration but also lots of room for interpretation....
"All Things Bright a Beautiful
.....evoking thoughts of Spring and Easter I hope. This week's challenge is simply to make a project using 'bright and beautiful' colours and embellishments - of course featuring one of the Charmed downloads too. Lots of scope there then on this bright and beautiful morning!

For my card I used these Valentine's papers from Scenic Route called Loveland Line. They were my bright and beautiful jumping off point! I just love Scenic Route papers they are right up there with my first love....BasicGrey!!!!!
I printed Holly in the Garden from Charmed Cards & Crafts on Georgia Pacific paper and coloured her with my Copic Markers. I used my Metallic Rub-ons to make the blue background! I then roughed up the edges of the image and the red Bazzill Cardstock mat with my Tim Holtz distressing tool thingy!
I made the mistake of checking to see if there were any new Quickutz Digital Downloads available for my Silhouette and there was, yay!!! I just had to have the new Scalloped borders! I was so happy with this particular one. it looks just like the new Fiskars Apron Lace border punch and now I don't have to buy a big 'ol punch! The cool things is that it came in different sizes too. So, I cut a small one for the bottom and the large one is along the top!

Then I added the yummy frilly ribbon that I got at my LSS a while back and I decided to staple it on...nice and easy and added the cute green felt bunny from the dollar store and some Prima Flowers with a big MM brad!
I stamped my MFT sentiment on a Quickutz tag that I cut from a scrap of the pp. The tag has a little slit to run ribbon through but I decided to tuck that edge under my main image! I added some Stickles here and there for a little extra sparkle and I out linted the sentiment with my Sakura Stardust pen!
Well, there you have it! Another fun challenge awaits you, over at Dottie's World Blog!!! You should also take a trip to Charmed Cards and Crafts and see all the fab downloadable images Karen has for you!!!
Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by and having a wee look!!!

Dottie's World Sunday Challenge...Twice as Nice by Adele...Time for a Mani-pedi, Cutie!!!

This week at Dottie's world Challenge blog, Adele, has set the challenge and it is.......
Twice as Nice!!!! "I want your creations to include two or more of the Charmed Download images, mix and match, resize, whatever you fancy but I need to see two images."

So, for my card I decided to use my Holly and Madison download images from Charmed Cards and Crafts! I am just loving the World Tour images designed by Louise! So, for this card you need to use your imagination a bit and pretend that Madison is really Holly, lol!!!!
I'm really getting sick of winter and being all bundled up! The other day I had one of those, "Note-to-Self-moments" and thought, I really should book an appointment with the Esthetician, ASAP! Once, spring is here and I shed my tuque, winter parka, and Ugs, God only knows, what is lurking underneath all the gear I have been wearing for the last 6 months, lol!!!! Yes, 6 months we have long winters here in Canda, smile!!!!
So, I cut a 6x6 cardbase from Bazzill Bling cardstock and used some Kelly Panacci pp that I have had in my stash for a while now! I stamped a Fancy Pants flourish stamp on the pp with chalk ink!

I printed Madison in the Mountains and Holly on the Beach. I resized Holly to make her a little smaller and printed her on Georgia Pacific paper that I had cut into a thought bubble shape on my Silhouette! So, this is where you have to use your imagination and pretend Madison is really Holly with her hair tucked up under her tuque and she is envisioning herself at the beach!!!!

I coloured both images with my Copics and used a little Metallic Rub-ons around Holly on the thought bubble! The sentiment is computer generated and I inked the edges and added lots of Glamour Dust. I just discovered Glamour Dust recently and love it!!! Unfortunately, it doesn't really show up to well!
So, there you have it! Now, I really need to go give, Meridith, my Esthetician, a call and see if she can pencil me in for a Mani-Pedi,lol!
Hope you have a great week and hope that you can join us at Dottie's World Challenge and make your creation Twice as Nice! Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look!

Dottie's World Sunday Challenge....Get the feeling...Country Chic!

Howdy! Today is my first official DT card for the Dottie's World Challenge blog! The challenge this week is "get the feeling"! So, Nicola would like to see fabric incorporated into your design. It can be ribbon, felt, lace cotton etc. etc. So, print of one of your downloaded images from Charmed Cards & Crafts and giddy up, partner!
I decided I would use Holly in the USA! Isn't she fab! I thought this Making Memories Sabrina pp would be perfect! I liked the juxtaposition of the the chic paper against Holly in her country attire...Country Chic, lol!!!! I went looking on-line for some sentiments and found this quote in the pea soup at 2peas, (one of my favourite scrapbooking websites)!!!
So, I am not really into line dancing, myself, but I thought this would make a cute card for a "girls night out" invite. I think the closest I get to line dancing is doing The Slosh with my Mom at weddings, lol! Does that count? he, he, he! So,
I made my cardbase 6x6 with Bazzill pink Bling cardstock and the Making Memories Sabrina 6x6 pad! I printed Holly on Georgia Pacific paper and coloured her with my Copic markers. I cut her out with my Curvy Nesties and sponged around the edges with Metallic Rub-ons!
So, to "get the feeling" on this card,I use black velvet ribbon, Prima fabric flowers mixed with some matching MM Sabrina flowers. I cut the QK photo Corner out of a Technique Tuesday Textile circle and inked the edges. The flowers are set with co-ordinating MM Sabrina brads. I added a little Stickles for a little bling!!!
Well, there you have it my first Dottie's World DT card! I hope y'all like it,he, he, he!? So, go have a look at all the other fab cards the DT has in created for you and then join us!!!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look!
