BasicGrey Challenges # 47 and Magnolia Down Under Challenge # 102...Happy Birthday!!!

Photobucket
Me again! Yup, I am back with another card to share with you this morning! Today we have more fun challenges over at BasicGrey Challenges and at Magnolia Down Under Challenge. I thought I would combine my cards this week as the challenges went perfectly together! Over at BG Challenges we would like to see Stitching on your card or creation and at MDUC the challenge is Stitching and Swirls. Sounds like fun, eh!?

Well, I hope you can mange to squeeze in some stampin' time and join both challenges! Just remember that at BasicGrey Challenges you must use at least one BasicGrey product on you card or creation and please list that item in your post so it easy for the DT to see what BG product you have used as there are so many gorgeous BG products available now! Over at MDUC the requirement is to use a Magnolia stamped image on your creation ( it doesn't have to be Tilda or Edwin it can be an accessory stamp)!

If you join us at BasicGrey Challenges we have a fabulous prize....a random winner will be selected to receive a $25.00 gift voucher for the Simon Says Stamp Superstore....Whoo hoo!!!!!!
Photobucket
For my card I used BasicGrey Life of the party 6x6 papers. I stamped my stitiching with trusty and beloved Kelly Panacci Acrylic Stitching stamps. I stamped around the edges of the papers with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The image I used is this cute Tilda with Heart Package from the Magnolia Spring 2008 release. I think I have only inked her up once before, which, is a real shame as she is just soooooo cute! It's nice to use our older Tilda stamps too, isn't it!? So, I coloured her with my Copics, of course and cut the image out with my Nesties and inked with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I cut a smaller mat from red American Crafts cardstock with my glass mat and Fiskars Finger Tip Craft knife and cut around the outer edge of the die. The swirls were cut on my Silhouette Digical Craft Cutter and I added a few red half pearls on the swirls.  I tied some crinkled seam binding around the card and tied a double bow and added a BG button and some twine. The label sentiment is from Catslife Press stamped with Ladybug Memento Ink on Kraft cardstock and the other sentiment is a Melissa Frances Rub-on.

Well, thanks so much for swingin' by again and having a wee peek at my BG Challenges and MDUC card today! I hope you can join the challenges! Please pop by the challenge blogs and have a look at all the gorgeous inspiration by the BG and MDUC DTs too!

Have a Stampin' Great Day!

The MDUC DT have gorgeous creations to inspire you this week so please stop by the MDU Challenge blog and have a peek and leave them some love!!!

Photobucket
I used more Hello Luscious paper and I coloured up this absolutely adorable Tilda with Flower Pot, from the Butterfly Dreams collection, with my Copics! I just love her to bits....sooooo cute!!!! I stamped a Magnolia sentiment on a tag cut with a QuicKutz die and I also used one of my CatsLife Press seal stamps, Officially Spring. I used two Making Memories metal butterflies to comply with this week's challenge to use some metal....I thought they were the perfect little embellishment too and I even bent up the wings a bit to add some dimension. To finish it off I add some gorgeous satin ribbon, green half pearls and some Stickles.

Photobucket

Here is the inside...pretty simple, as always. I used a sentiment from the My Favorite Things More Essential Sentiments set and I used a MFT die-namics die

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 68....Twine or Floss.

Photobucket
Oh happy day! YAY!!! It's Saturday can't wait to get krafty today!!! It is also time for another fun challenge this week over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge! Jeanne has set an awesome challenge this week. I am totally loving the new Baker's Twine trend! Have you jumped on the Twine bandwagon too!? Love it!!! Well, Jeanne would like to see Twine or Floss or any type of string, for that matter, on you card or creation.  Jeanne has used Stella Strawberry on her stunning card and if you join in on the challenge this week and you have used a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamped image you will be entered into the random draw to win a Stella Strawberry stamp of your very own. How cool is that!? Very, I know!!!!!

Photobucket
So, my card didn't exactly turn out how I had envisioned it!  I was going to put both Richie and Judy on the front of the card together but they didn't fit and I didn't want to not use Richie. Especially, after I coloured him up and he was lookin' so cute and all, so I put him on the inside of the card.

I made my card base 6x6 from Kraft cardstock and used October Afternoon scraps of paper from the Fly a Kite, Cherry Hill and The Thrift Shop collections. I used some cotton lace trim and Maraschino Twinery Twine with a BasicGrey button. I stamped up Judy from the New Moonlight Whispers 50's inspired release and coloured her with my Copics. I love her to bits and wanted to colour her with dark hair this time as she reminds me so much of Katy Perry!!! I used my Tim Holtz paper Distressing tool to rough up the edges of the red American Crafts cardstock and I also used my Kelly Panacci stitching stamps with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Photobucket
Here is the inside of my card...I think Richie from the new Moonlight Whispers, 50's Inspired release is super cute too...love him in his letter Jacket!! The sentiments are Melissa Frances rub-ons and I also used a Catslife Press label. Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I hope you can join us this week at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge. Please swing by the KKSC blog and take a look at all the gorgeous cards the Krafty Girls have whipped up!

Happy Kraftin'!!!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 63....Reduce, Reuse, Recycle...Sending my Love!

Photobucket

Good morning Krafty friends! Is it just me or did this week just zip by at breakneck speed or what? I didn't even get around to visiting all my lovely krafty peeps like I wanted too. I will make sure to pop by and say hi very soon though!

Well, today I'm sharing the card I made for the fun challenge that we have this week at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge blog! Firstly, I wanted to say, I did take a look at all the gorgeous cards submitted for my KKStamps Fiary Tale challenge last week. WOWZERS!!! You all made such beautiful cards and it was amazing to see all the beautiful and creative uses of the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Well, I hope you join us again this week as the uber talented, Krafty Girl, Melanie, has set the challenge and this week Melanie would like us to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle...this is such a fun challenge!!!  Melanie has used the gorgeous Stella Strawberry from the new January release, on her creation, you must check it out, her project and her colouring are simply divine and what a fabulously krafty project! If you join us and use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp on your creation then you will be entered into the random draw to win a Stella Strawberry stamp of your very own.

Photobucket
So, onto my card....I have to admit I wasn't all that creative with my 3 R's for this one but I am still quite happy with how my card turned out. I coloured up this sweet image, Rebecca Rasperberry with my Copics and I used my PrismaColored pencils and OMS to add in the blue shadowing and grass, à la Krafty Girl, Michele Boyer. I also used my new beloved "splotch" stamp from Frog's Whiskers ink stamps and stamped with Memento Dessert Sand ink. I love the way this splotch looks and have always admired this effect on Inge's beautiful cards where I've "lifted" this idea from, hope you don't mind, hun! I decided to team up Rebecca with some 12X12 BasicGrey Bittersweet papers that I had in my stash for a while and I also thought this brown grosgrain ribbon would be perfect for my card!  It was from the packaging of my Prima Painterly flowers and was perfect for my recycled item, in keeping with this week's challenge. I also, "reused" or more like "repurposed" some ugly dollar store chipboard photo turns and covered them with the BG Bittersweet paper.  I already had this Catslife Press stamp label stamped out on BG Bittersweet paper so I used it too and I added some Pretty pink Prima Painterly flowers with brown glittery domes and some Sakura Stardust pen to finish it off. The bottom sentiment actually comes with the sweet Stella Strawberry.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I really hope you can join us this week! Please make a stop by the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge blog for links to all the Krafty Girls cards. They have made stunning creations, as always, and they are sure to inspire you to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!

Have a stampin' great weekend!

Just Magnolia #84.... Believe and No Peeking!

Hey crafty friends! I made a few more christmas cards for the Just Magnolia challenge, Anything Goes with Sparkle!

Photobucket
I love this stamp, Tilda with Fir, she is so sweet and I love her Uggs, (I soooo want a pair, lol)! Again, I made yet another easel card with BG Jovial and a Magnolia Tree stamp embossed with Northern Lights embossing powder! I have to say keeping a similar style to all my Christmas cards has made the process easier. I used some AC ribbon, cotton lace trim and a Melissa Frances Rub-on and a Catslife Press label stamp.

Photobucket
For this card I coloured my favorite stamp, Secret Tilda, from the Magnolia Merry Little Christmas collection this year. I am totally in love with my new toner Copic markers too. I got T1, T3 and T5 at Scrapfest and will have to get a few more. They are absolutely fabulous for toning down some of the more vibrant colours. Adding the toner marker on Tilda's outfit gave me a grey teal colour that matched the paper better. Also my new fave Copic colour combo for Hair is E41, E42, E43, E44, E49....I have been using it a lot lately.  I used BG Jovial papers, an Elements sticker tag, a sheet from Capella pad and an Olivia fabric brad.  I embellished with Prima Flowers and lace trim. The sentiment stamped on the BG Elements sticker is from the Kelly Panacci Christmas stamp set.
Photobucket

I once again used the Magnolia tree embossed with Northern lights embossing powder for the sparkle and I also used my MFT large Scalloped border Die-namics die.

Photobucket
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my cards! I still have a few more to make, oh boy, remind me next year to get cracking on the cards earlier, will ya, he, he, he!

Happy stampin'!

My Favorite Things...WSC Challenge...A Sketch...Snow Day!

Photobucket
Good morning crafty friends! We got some snow yesterday late in the afternoon and even though it was getting dark I let the kids go out in the front yard and play in it for a bit. Well, I have been pumping out cards left right and centre. I made 5 teacher cards yesterday, yes you read correctly 5 teachers. Kieran has 4 teachers this year, between the Reading program he attends and his regular class, this is one of the 5. I also picked up some tea lights from Bath and Body Works and wrapped them in pp and added some ribbon and a tag. I was going to make those cute tea light cards that everyone is making but I just didn't have the time to do it and these tea lights already came in a neat package so I thought I would just dress it up a bit.
Photobucket

For the card I used the great sketch that they have this week for the MFT WSC MFTWSC12012010  challenge. I decided to use some different pp, so I used my MME Holly Jolly paper pack. I coloured the image Merry KISSmas with my Copics and paper pieced it. I used a sentiment from one of the other PI stamp sets called Snow Day, a Catslife Press label and a sentiment from SCAC. I added a few Prima Poinsettias and some AC ribbon and cotton last trim. I also pulled out the old Liquid Applique again and this time added Stickles to it so it is rather sparkly IRL! I also added some Viva Decor black Pearl pen for the snowman's buttons.

well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card!

Just Magnolia #84....snuggle!

Photobucket

Hey crafty friends! I have a sick kiddo on my hands so I am home from work today with our wee Kieran! I got my house tidied up which is good and I am going to make some more Christmas cards this afternoon. I have a card to share with you this afternoon...yes, another Christmas card, smile! I have discovered liquid applique and I am going a bit crazy with the stuff, lol! It is lots of fun though and I love the look of it. I inked up this sweet image of Snowy Hugs...Tilda with her Snowman friend! I coloured the image with my Copics and I cut the image out and added my Liquid Applique and puffed it up with my heat gun. I pop dotted the image on the Nestie heart cut from BG Jovial papers. I added some sparkly red snowflakes and the sentiment "snuggle" is a Melissa Frances rub-on. I also used one of my Catslife Press label stamps. The sentiment on the bottom of the easel card is from Stamping Bella.

Photobucket

I am entering my card in the challenge over at Just Magnolia this week the challenge is Anything Goes with the option of sparkle!!! I added red Stickles to my QuicKutz snowflakes...very sparkly IRL!

Well, thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #74....Summer-time theme....Memories of Summer!

Photobucket

Hello friends! it is time for a new challenge over at Magnolia Down Under challenges and this week the challenge is....Summer-time! What a nice departure this was from all the Christmas card making that I have been doing. I really enjoyed this challenge! I hope you can join us this week! Just remember that you need to use at least one Magnolia stamped image on your creation! The MDUC DT has gorgeous creations to share and to inspire you. Pop on over to the MDUC blog and visit the DT to see all their gorgeous creations!

Photobucket

I used a mixture of October Afternoon papers...very summery, I think. I also wanted to ink up this sweet image called Circus Tilda...to me she looks like a proper, Southern Belle, all dressed up, perhaps sitting out on the veranda, sipping a lemonade. I thought she would be perfect for this card. I used the Magnolia Summer background stamps to set the summery scene. I coloured all the images with my Copics and I cut the background image out with my circle Nesties and cut out Tilda and pop dotted her on the card. I used a little cotton lace trim and AC ribbon. I stamped one of the Catslife Press label stamps on craft card and the other sentiments are Melissa Frances rub-ons.

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my MDUC DT card!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Belles 'n Whistles Stamps Challenge...Red and Sketch Saturday # 109...Happy Birthday to Our Sweet Angel!

Good Morning crafty friends! I thought I would share the card that I made last night for Hannah's 11th Birthday that is this Saturday...yes, I said it...11 years old...my gosh, where has the time gone! I was racking my brain as to what image to use for her card and then I saw the challenge yesterday at Belles 'n Whistles...Red...and I thought it would be fitting as Ruby is Hannah's birthstone and I remember like it was yesterday, going into labour on July 1st, Canada day, but she didn't make her special appearance until the 3rd!
Then I decided this cutie called Cupcake would be perfect...Hannah loves cupcakes and cats (well all animals, really! She knows the name of every dog that lives in our neighbourhood, smile!) I coloured the image with Copics and cut it out with my Nesties and used Old paper Distress ink for the background and I stamped a Kelly Pannaci flourish stamp with Antique Linen Distress ink.

I also used the beautiful sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week...I hope you can still see it under all the embellies but I do tend abundantly embellish,he, he, he! I made my easel card with AC cardstock and used this yummy October Afternoon paper. I used my Catslife Press stamps and Melissa Frances and QuicKutz rub-ons. I used my new and gorgeously scrumptious Wild Orchid Crafts roses and MS butterflies punched out of silver glitter paper and lots of red bling!

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at Hannah's B-day card! I hope she likes it! She has been band from visiting my blog until Saturday, lol! We will see if she can resist.
Hope you have a stampin' great day!

Just Magnolia # 61...Bev's Sketch...Hoppy Birthday!

I'm back again to share the card I made today for the Just Magnolia Challenge! Bev has designed a great sketch for us this week and I really enjoyed using it. It's definitely one to use again!
I made an easel card with American Crafts cardstock and Imaginisce Princess paper that I've had in my stash for a while. I finally inked up this adorable princess Tilda! I've been dieing to use my princess sentiment stamp from Catslife press with her. I coloured Tilda with my Copics and add a lot of Glamour Dust to her wings...wish I could have got a better pic of her...she is very sparkly IRL!

I also used the frog stamp as well and I printed the bottom sentiment on the computer.

I also used one of Kraftin' Kimmie's sentiments too. I'm just posting this quickly as we are going out to dinner and then going to see Toy Story 3 in 3D at the show.

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Just Magnolia #60...Tilda In the Garden!!!

Good morning crafty friends! I played in my craft room quite a bit this weekend and I made this card for the Just Magnolia Challenge...it sounded like a great theme...In the Garden...I just couldn't resist playing along! I decided to use this sweet Tilda picking strawberries from her vegetable garden and I used the Magnolia spring fence to make a little scene.
So, I'm not a gardener at all but my Dad sure is...boy, does he love his garden! He was at my house the other day and said "awk, I best get home to make me tae" (with his Irish accent I must add) and then he says with a sly look on his face "me compost tae, that is! I got the recipe off the Internet." lol! Well, I think that is just too funny! I didn't even know there was such a thing as compost tea...did you!? Well, get this, my Mum informs me he uses her old pantyhose to strain it through, rofl! Sounds like too much work to me,lol!
Well, enough story telling...now about this card...I used some new October Afternoon papers from Scrappin' Great Deals and I am soooooo in love with them. They are just gorgeous and so fun to work with! I added some eyelet trim that I picked up at a quaint little sewing shop on my travels to Lindsay, some Prima flowers with gems and I punched MS butterflies from QuicKutz cork material.

I coloured Tilda with my Copics, of course, and cut the image out with my Nesties and inked the background with Tumbled Glass and Old Paper Distress inks. The Garden Notes sentiment is from Catslife Press and the other sentiment is from Stamping Bella and is stamped on a QK tag.

Here is the inside...I used a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sentiment from Kimmie's Beachy sentiment set!
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I am off to make me a tea but not compost tea, that is for sure, smile!
Hope you have a stampin' great day!
Hugs,
