Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge...Guest DT...Distressing...Merry Christmas!

Photobucket

Good morning crafty friends! I am so excited to share the card that I made for the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge! My sweet blogging friend, Ingrid, asked me if I would be a guest designer for this week's challenge, and, of course, I said,YES! What an absolute honour! Thanks so much for asking me, Ingrid!
Ingrid has set the challenge this week and she would like to see some Distressing! Well this is right up my alley!

So, for my card, I reached for some of my fave new BG Jovial papers and distressed the edges with my new favourite tool, my Distrezz-it-All! I also, painted the edges of the paper with Picket Fence Crackle paint and inked with Distress inks. I then decided to use this Magnolia tree stamp that came in my stamp club kit. I just love silver Tinsel Christmas tress so I decided to make one for Tilda. I stamped the tree with Tim Holtz embossing ink and then used Northern Lights embossing powder to get this beautiful silver tinsel tree. I then inked up this sweet Tilda. I think she is from last years Christmas stamps but Ijust got her! I coloured her with my Copics and I used my toner Copic markers for the first time and I love them!!! I used them on Tilda's dress to get a more subdued blue green colour and it worked. I used my VersaMagic pen and went over the tinsel in Tilda's hands and then embossed it with the Northern Lights embossing powder too....love this stuff...think you will be seeing a lot of it,smile!

I embellished with some satin ribbon and lace dyed with Glimmer Mist. The bingo card is by Making Memories and I added a Melissa Frances rub-on and a few pearls here and there. I finished it off with some Prima Poinsettias and used a BG Jovial Glazed Brad.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I want to thank Ingrid and all the fabulous designers at Spoon Full of Sugar for letting me join them this week! I hope you get a chance to visit all their blogs and see their gorgeous creations and then join the fun and get distressing!

Happy Stampin'!

Just Magnolia # 71, MDU # 62, A Spoonful Of Sugar, #120...You're Fintastic!

Hey crafty friends! Hope you are well...it is rather overcast and dull and dreary here! This weather is so not good for my head...its one of my major migraine triggers, ugh! Oh well, I have a quick post this afternoon with a card that I made for a few challenges. I was super excited to join the Magnolia Down Under challenge #62 as they would like to see, feathers, fur or fins on your Magnolia creations. It was the perfect chance for me to ink up my Summer StampClub stamps that haven't seen ink yet...shameful, I know! I also made this card for the Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge #71...Cracked Glass or Anything Goes. I did a very lose interpretation of the Cracked Glass...as I tried my Rock Candy Stickles for the first time it doesn't actually crack, which I originally thought it did, but it does give an antiqued glass like appearance. I also made this card for A spoonful of Sugar # 120 Challenge...Animal Crackers...hope Tilda's Seahorse friend counts for that, smile!

I made a 6x6 easel card from Colorbok cardstock and used Echo Park It's a Good Life which is just gorgeous paper and I am so in love with it. I can't wait to get the Christmas ranges of Echo Park they both look scrumptious. So I used the Magnolia Doohickey tag and cut it from craft cardstock I stamped the Magnolia Seahorse and then distressed the tag, crumpled it up and inked it with Tumbled Glass Distress inks. I then applied a thin coat of Rock Candy Distress Stickles and let it dry...it is very sparkly IRL and has a very cool affect IRL, unfortunately it didn't photograph well...I think I'm going to get the Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint though because that would actually crackle and give the Cracked Glass effect. I stamped Tilda as a Mermaid and coloured her with my Copics and cut her out with my Circle Nesties and then inked with Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Shabby Shutters. I then put a thin coat of the Rock Candy on Tilda's Tail and shell bikini top. I also added some Colorbok rain dots stickers and bling on the bubbles.

I added a few Prima flowers, American Crafts ribbon, and lace trim, and lots of bling here and there. The sentiment on the tag is a Melissa Frances rub-on and the other two sentiments are Kraftin' Kimmie sentiments stamps. Now, have you noticed my larger pics on my blog...I just figured out how to do this. It has been a long process for me to figure this out, I'm so not computer savvy but I am thrilled that I finally have bigger pics...although some of them have been too big, me thinks, but I am getting the hang of it so bare with me, lol!

well, Thanks so much for popping by and having a wee peek at my card and thank you so much for all the sweet comments you leave me, friends...you are so thoughtful and they mean so much to me!

Spoon Full of Sugar # 49 Blue and Green.......Oh Happy day!

Just a quick post this evening to show you this card that I have been working on a little bit every night for the last few nights. I wanted to play along with the challenge over at A Spoon full of Sugar again this week cuz I had so much fun with last week's sketch!
The Challenge this week is Green and Blue...well this colour combo always reminds me of a little saying my Mum would tell me when I was little "Blue and Green should never be seen except inside the washing machine", lol! I actually really like blue and Green together but I also I like red and pink together too and apparently that is another colour combo no-no, smile! Well, after I knew what colour combo I was going to use I went searching for a sketch. I just wasn't in the mood to come up with the card design either a bit lazy in fact, smile!
Well, I had no luck finding a sketch so then I got sidetracked and started blog hopping...I went and visited my blogging pal Kathy the Distressed Stampers!!! Well, I just fell in love with this stunning card! OMG!! It is so stunningly beautiful! I can't even tell you how long I just sat and stared at every little detail...absolutely brilliant! I just love it!!! So, I printed it and decided to use her fabulous card design as my sketch and inspiration for this card!!!!

Well, I am pretty happy with how mine turned out! Thanks Kathy for the fabulous inspiration!
I used some scraps of this BoBunny paper that I had left over from a scrapbooking page that I did last year and this new yummy American Craft ribbon that I picked up at Micheals! I cut the big label shape on my Silhouette and the "play circle label" is from Shabby Shoppe and I printed it on Kraft cardstock for a little different look!
I stamped Tilda and the butterfly on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock and coloured them with my Copics and added lots of Shimmerz! I also inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks Antique Linen and Scattered Staw and added the Melissa Frances rub-ons directly to the main image and the label on the inside of the card.

I finished my inside too...this card will going in my sale bin at work! I have raised $240 for The Canadian Hearing Society and I am so excited but my card pile is getting low! I would like to see if I can reach $300 by the end of May!!! I will have to get busy and make more cards, lol!!!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! Now I am off to pack up all my crafty stuff as I am going to my friends house tomorrow for a girls scrapping, stamping cardmaking day and hope to make lots of cards!
