Say what you need to say!

Well, I have been musing about this layout for a few weeks now and it has finally evolved into this....ya like? I absolutely love the song "Say" by John Mayer. The lyrics have such a great message for my daughter, for myself, for all of us, really. I want Hannah to be able to "say what she needs to say"...to say it with out "fear"...to know "that it is better to say too much, than to never say, what you need to say"! I want her to learn this lesson now, as, it is a hard lesson to learn...something I still struggle with everyday. Countless times I have walked away not saying what I needed to say. Left with hurt and regret because of my fear to say what I feel or my fear of what people will think or fear of reprisals. But then I am left wishing I had said this or that...."but we would be better off instead if we could only say what we need to say...with a heart wide open". Well, I really enjoyed the process of making this layout...I felt all creative and artsy, lol...I used new Sweet Spring Fancy Pants paper and the new Fancy Pants stamp set Little Star (love it) and In My Words, the title and lyrics are printed in the 2 peas font Beautiful Mess. I pulled out my chalks and used a paper stomp to high light various words in the lyrics and to add a titch of colour in around the stamped images. I used Tim Holt's distress inks for the stamping. I also, used a few snippets from my Melissa Frances rub-ons...i love hackin' them all up and recreating my own phrases, smile. The little tag is from the dollar store...i painted it, sanded it, inked it, and sanded it again, phew! Then I printed out "say what you need to say" in mirror image on the glossy side of a transparency and pressed it onto the tag while the ink was still wet; transferring the phrase...home made rub-ons! It is subtle (code for hard to see) but i like it.

Here is a card I made earlier this week for a friend. She is expecting her second child very soon and is feelin' uncomfortable...like she might just explode, smile....been there, done that! So, I made this little card to cheer her on...you're in the home stretch, now! I used BG paper and a new Magnolia stamp and QK clear acrylic stamps and die set. Sentiment is from the Serenity Now MFT stamps.

Thanks for stopping by!
