Well, I am here to share a card I made for the My Favourite Things Wednesday Stamp Club. They have a gorgeous sketch this week but I'm not sure if I missed the deadline to enter the challenge or not I did finally manage to get the card uploaded to SCS last night so I might have made by the skin of my teeth...oh well, it was great to use this new MFT WTG Well Read set, regardless! I also made this card for the the fun challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges...Celebrate books!

I made my cardbase from Prism cardstock and teamed it up with some yummy October Afternoon dp and Paper Pieced the WTG image. I cut out the image with this Nestie Die as I always think it looks like an open book and left the image in the die and inked with Old Paper Distress ink. The gorgeous crochet ribbon is a RAK from my sweet blogging and BG DT member Tara W. I printed the sentiment on the computer using the same Wendy Medium font the MFT uses and this is my favorite font...love it bits! Hannah was watching a kid movie the other night and this was the title of it. I thought it would be a great sentiment for this Well Read set.

I'm not sure if you ever felt that you just didn't want the book you were reading to come to an end. I often have a little let down after I'm done a good book. I almost miss the characters that I have grown to know and love while reading the book! Well, I thought this card would be the perfect companion with the gift of a great book to a friend!
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having wee peek at my card!
Have a stampin' great day!

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge # 9, FS #118 and CCT# 128...Attitude..!

Hey Krafty friends! I hope you are enjoying Labour Day and your day off work! We were camping but the weather was just awful...rainy, damp and COLD...I was absolutely miserable sitting in the trailer...did a lot of reading to pass the time and hardly slept a wink with the rain pounding down on the roof of the trailer. Well, when I woke up yesterday morning I wasn't in a pleasant mood, to say the least and I had a splitting headache to boot...well, hubby got the picture that I wasn't a very happy camper and we packed up early and come home last night, YAY!!!
Photobucket
So, this morning I decided to get a little krafty time in and I made a card for a few of my fave challenges...I made this card for the Swirls and Pearls challenge at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz, I used the ROCKIN' sketch at Friday Sketchers by Inge...absolutely love this sketch to bits...love Inge's multi-layered cards and I am entering this card in the challenge...Material Girl to use fabric over at Cute Card Thursday.

Photobucket
I have been dying to use this fabulous Pink Paislee 6x6 paper pack that I picked up at Crop Circles in Peterbrorough and I wanted to use this sweet digi image of "All That" from Kenny K's Glam Gang collection too. I coloured her in with my Copics and used the "Out of the Box" technique and cut her out with my square Nesties and I used Old Paper Distress ink and ink the image while it was still in the die. I used some half pearls from the dollar store and QK Swirls, Prima flowers and a WOC Gardenia to embellish. For the fabric I used some white cotton lace trim and I'd kept a clothing tag that came on a pair of Hubby's new jeans as it had this fabulous piece of jean material with a snap on it...it was perfect for this card and the fabric challenge over at CCT.

The sentiment is a Melissa Frances rub-on and I gave it a Little sparkle with my Sakura Stardust pen and just smudge the glitter around with my finger to soften the look.

Here is the inside...sentiments are a Catslife Press label and a Melisa Frances rub-on.

So, for my card I decided to use the new BasiGrey Olivia 6x6 paper pad and I teamed it up with this adorable My Favorite Things Who's that Girl stamp set called Baby Bump. I paper pieced the WTG's clothes and shopping bags with BG Olivia papers and coloured in her skin and background with my Copics. I added some cotton trim and ribbon from my stash and used this fabulous new MFT Open Scallop Di-namics border die. The sentiment is just one of the many cute sentiments in the Baby Bump set and I stamped it on a Nestie tag. I had a little mishap with this image...these WTG images have a black border around them and when I trimmed this image down I accidentally cut a part of it off on one side. Well, instead of throwing out the image and starting all over. I just went around the image with the chisel top of my Permapaque Opaque Marker and saved the image from the trash bin, smile! So, to finish off the card, I added a few Prima flowers but not too many and just a touch of Pink bling...I think this card is my version of a Clean and Simple card, smile.

and here is the inside...I used one of the great sentiments in the MFT Clearly sentimental About Babies set and stamped it on paper cut out with the Di-namics Framed Greeting die then stamped "Congratulations" from the Baby Bump set on the QuicKutz tag.
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! I hope you can join the challenge and I hope you enter the BG DT Call too!
Happy stampin'!

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge # 8....Music....A friend...!

Good morning Krafty galz! I have a quick post this morning to share a card that I made for the challenge over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge blog. This week the challenge is MUSIC...love my tunes, love this challenge and I'm totally loving Kenny K digi stamps!!! The Glam Gang images are my fave and are so much fun to colour!

Well, for my card I just had to colour up this cutie, Rock Chick! Did you know that I was totally a Rocker/Heavy Metal chick in High School...OMGosh these images are bringing back memories, lol!
Well, back to the card...I used some MME papers and teamed it up with some AC cardstock and some Prima flowers with "metal" Making Memories flower brads in the centers. I had to add some ribbon and bling too...I just can't seem to make a card without it,smile! I coloured up Rock Chick with my Copics and cut her out with my Nesties and inked with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I left the image in the die and used it as a stencil! Oh and I found a really great little tip (I can't remember where I saw it...sorry...EDITED I found the link to the YouTube Video here) for cutting a small mat for your image. I use my Finger Grip craft Knife and cut going around the outside of the die! This is much better than how I was doing it before just tracing the outer edge and then cutting with the scissors.

Here is the inside....I thought this C.C. Designs sentiment was perfect for this card!
Well, Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card!
Have a Rockin' day!

My Favorite Things...WSC Challenge...Floral Fantsay!

Good morning crafty friends! I am back again with another card to share with you! This time I made this card for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge which is Floral Fantasy! I used one of my adorable little Pure Innocence Girls for this card. This cutie is actually from the Easter stamp set, My Basket of eggs, but I covered the eggs in her basket with Flower Soft. I also paper pieced her dress with Scenic Route pp and coloured the rest of the image with my Copics and cut her out and pop-dotted her on the Nestie rectangle.

I used this gorgeous Scenic Route paper that I had in my stash....not much of it left now. I will be very sad when it is all gone...love it soooo much! I also used some more of my new found love, crinkled seam binding! This is MS Seam Binding from Micheals that I have had in my stash forever and I just crinkled it myself which was super easy to do! There are a few great YouTube videos available if you are interested here and here. I tied this messy double bow with a button and I think it kind of looks like a flower. I stamped part of the sentiment from another MFT PI set (don't know the name off hand) on the front.

and then stamped the rest of the sentiment on the inside panel.

Thanks for stopping by and having a week peek at my card!
Have a stampin' great day!

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge # 7....Donna's Sketch....You're one in a Million!

Hey Krafty Girlz!!! This is my first Kenny K challenge with my very first Kenny K Digi Stamp and I'm totally in love...don't know what took me so long to get some of these cuties but I am so glad I finally did! I absolutely loved colouring Download Diva with my Copics and can't wait to colour up some of the other images I got! I made this card following Donna's fabulous sketch over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge!

I have been really admiring the gorgeous vintage crinkled seam binding that I have seen on so many fabulous cards lately. I spotted some recently on Kathy's gorgeous cards and I e-mailed her about it. Well, I went in search of some on Etsy as Kathy told me she had found some there and then I discovered that I had some Martha Stewart seam binding in my stash all this time....score! I also found videos on YouTube on how to crinkle your own seam binding and you can also dye it with Glimmer Mist too....check it out here and here....it's super easy and looks fabulous!

So, I made this card with Echo Park pp again and added some bling, Prima flowers and Mellisa Frances rub-on sentiments to finish it off.

Here is the inside...I think I'm going to give this card to my friend's teenage daughter for her b-day...I think she is really going to like Download Diva!

Well, thanks for stopping by and having a peek at my first Kenny K card...I think you will be seeing more as I definitely love these funky images.

Have a stampin' great day!

I added a big gorgeous WOC gardenia with with some Prima flowers and roses. I used some AC ribbon and sprinkled a few gems here and there. The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Here is the inside and this sentiment is also a KKS sentiment.
