My Favorite Things Stamps...WSC # 170...Easter Wishes

Hello stampin' friends! I haven't missed a MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch yet this year...I'm hoping I can do them all this time! Here is the card I made with this week's sketch MFTWSC170! I've been admiring all the gorgeous creations by the MFT DT with the gorgeous Lily Die-namics....both coloured with Copics or cut from Heavyweight Card Stock the Lily Die-namics makes beautiful cards. Jeniffer McGuire also has a fabulous video tutorial on how to colour the Lily Die-namics with Copics...I had to give this great tip a try!

Here is the fabulous sketch that I used....definitely one to use again!

We are renovating/redecorating and this colour combo grey with a touch of yellow as an accent is the colour scheme for my living-room/kitchen...the touch of sunny yellow just makes me happy!

I made my card base from MFT Replenishments Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock and matted with Steel Grey, Lemon Drop and cut the Grout Grey Heavyweight Card Stock with the Swiss Dots Die-namics. The rectangle panel is cut with the Pierced Rectangle STAX and Rectangle STAX and I stamped with Grout Grey Premium Dye Ink with the MPD Distressed Background Blocks Stamp.  The sentiment is from the LJD Easter Bunny Stamp set, stamped with Steel Grey Premium Dye Ink on little flags cut with the die from the Blueprints 10.

I cut the Lily Die-namics from Copic X-Press It Blending Card and coloured with my Copics. I really recommend watching Jeniffer McGuire's video HERE. I picked up  several great tips on how to colour the die-cut flower.  I even appreciated her tip on adhering the little die-cut bits and pieces to a larger sheet of cardstock with temporary adhesive so they stay put when you're colouring. I never think of those little time saving ideas that make things just a little easier and less stressful. I added a little Clear Wink of Steela to the flowers and leaves for some sparkle, I tied a yellow AC Hemp cord bow and added some Your Nest Stamp Silver Gumdrops.

I finished the inside too...I added a few more Copic coloured Lilies and sentiments from the LJD Words Of Inspiration Stamp Set.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and havin' a wee peek at my card for this week's My Favorite Things Stamp Wednesday Stamp Cub # 170!

So, for my card I used one absolutely adorable image from the Mimi in Paris Transparent stamp set! The Memento ink didn't give a clean, crisp impression with the Transparent stamps, not sure why but I wanted a really crisp image, so, I stamped Mimi with VersaFine Black Onyx ink on Copic X-press it paper and then embossed the image with clear embossing powder, then I coloured Mimi with my Copic Markers. I love the shine that the clear embossing powder adds to the image too! It is a neat technique to use to get a dark black impression with the detail ink and still use your Copics. I made my card with My Mind's Eye Tickled Pink paper and gems and some Annalee Prima Flowers! I stamped a sentiment from a My Favorite Things Stamp set called Meet me at the Cafe, on a tag cut with a Nestibilites tag and inked with Spun Sugar Distress ink

Here is the inside...pretty simple! I stamped the Eiffel tower image with Versafine Black Onyx ink and embossed with clear embossing powder again! The sentiment is from the My Favorite Things More Essential Sentiments set!

Remember at BG Challenges you must use at least one item of BasicGrey product on you creation and please state in your post what you have used that is from the BasicGrey Range!  At MDUC we need to see a Magnolia product on your creation but it doesn't have to be Tilda or Edwin it can be any Magnolia stamp and or die. For my card today, I used BG Kioshi 6x6 paper pad and I use a clothing tag off a pair of new Capri pants that I bought Hannah. The colours in the tag led me to use this gorgeous Kioshi papers....love them!! I used the tag as the rectangle on the sketch but repositioned it a bit so that you could still read what it says. I also used some Prima flowers and a roses and large rose is from WOC. I used this sweet Will you be my Valentine Tilda. Tilda was stamped on Copic Xpress it blending cardstock with Memento ink and I coloured her with my Copics and then I cut her out leaving a small white border and pop-dotted her on the card. The sentiment is a QuicKutz rub-on on a tag that I cut with a QuicKutz die.  I added some cotton lace trim, ribbon form my stash and a few pearls.

At BasicGrey challenges we have a fabulous prize again offered up by our wonderful sponsor Simon Says Stamp Superstore, a whopping $25.00 gift voucher to the Superstore...whoo hoo....lots of crafty goodies to be had there!!!!

So for my card this week I followed the fabulous sketch that they have at Friday Sketchers # 145 and then I inked up one of the stamps from my new The Greeting Farm Miss Anya Lounge stamp set, that I got from...guess where...yuppers, Simon Says Stamps Superstore, he, he ,he!!! My daughter, Hannah, was wearing her cute black Uggs the other day and this Miss Anya reminds me of her...so I though I would inked her up! I stamped her on my new Copic Xpress It blending cardstock with Memento ink Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copics. I'm still getting use to this paper as I have been using Neenah for a while now but I think I like it! I just need a little more practice with it! It is very slick...kind of like the Prism Simply Smooth paper that I used before I switched to Neenah. Not sure I am happy with how her hair turned out but you know what they say.... practice makes perfect, smile! I cut the image out with my Oval Nesties and inked with Spun Sugar Distess ink.

I used BasicGrey Olivia 6x6 papers and American Crafts cardstock and the velvet ric rac is also by American Crafts. I used a BG Olivia Canvas tag and added a rub-on "smile" that I had in my stash to the centre of it. I added some beautiful Prima flowers with BG painted brads and I stamp a sentiment from a My Favorite Things sentiment set on a QuicKutz tag. to finish it off I sprinkled a few gems here and there.

Photobucket
Here is the inside...I used a sentiment from a new More Essential Sentiment set from My Favorite Things. I also added some more Prima flowers and more bling.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my Simon Says Stamp Birthday challenge card! I really hope you can join us! Please stop by the challenge blog and see all the gorgeous creations the DT have to inspire you too, then join us!
