So, for my card I have inked up this hard-working, Pure Innocence, Policeman, out there patrolling his beat and saving the day! I coloured him up with my Copics and made my card with BasicGrey Oliver 6x6 papers. I used the New Chevron Stripes Border  Die-namics and tucked it under the panel to replace the scallop on the sketch.  I used the New Circle STAX Die-namics set 1 and 2...they are a staple item for you Die-namics collection. I also added a few Stars with the Stacking Stars Die-namics and I stamped one of the cute sentiments that comes in the set on paper cut out with the ribbon die from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics.

Photobucket
Here is the inside of my card. I stamped the little PI Policeman again and a portion of one of the other sentiment from the set! Photobucket
I have a card to share featuring the Pure Innocence Scientist....she is is super cute and I think would make a fabulous valentines card but really she is very versatile and perfect for any occasion. I used the pretty MME Love Me paper and used the the fabulous new Banner Day STAX Die-namics to make this fun banner. I also used the negative portion after cutting with the new Pinking Edge Die-namics and layered 3 pinked edges and two little bows with some Shore Twinery Twine. I paper pieced the little PI Scientist girl and I stamped a few bubbles coming out of her beaker with the bubbled stamp from the PI Blowing Bubbles Stamp set.  She is pop-dotted on a  panel made with the Dizzy Doily Duo and the new fabulous Circle STAX Die-namics. I also tucked in the larger of the two Chevron Stripes Border Die-namics under the middle panel. I stamped only part of the sentiment from the PI Scientist set and on white card cut with the Chat Bubble Die-namics and stamped the rest of the sentiment on the inside panel.
Photobucket
Here is the inside...I stamped the PI Scientist girl again in Ladybug Memento Ink and made another panel with the Layered Labels Die-namics, the Dizzy Doily Duo, the Circle STAX Die-namics and the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics.

April MFT Die-namics Feature and Pre-Release Pep Rally!

Photobucket

Hello Stampin' friends! Well, now that we've teased and tempted you all week long, it's almost time for you to shop for your favorite Brand Spankin' New products from MFT.

But first... it's time for our Die-namics Feature and Pre-Release Pep Rally!

Our Design Team has been busy creating jaw-dropping and inspiring projects for you, and we've saved the best for last.

We've taken an in-depth look at this month's Die-namics, while re-visiting the amazing sets being released tonight at 10 PM EST RIGHT HERE in the MFT Boutique.
And while we are at it, how about we make your life even easier with a "cheat sheet" of all that's new?  Head over to the MFT Blog to print out a shopping list.

So, for my card today, I am using this little doll, Pure Innocence Dress Up Diva, and I coloured her with my Copics. I really took my time colouring her up, her pretty dress really lent to colouring in some pleats. I worked at getting the highlights just so...still not totally happy with it but will keep practising. I used this pretty, Howdy Doody, MME 6x6 paper, such a lovely colour combo. I made lots of flowers with the Pretty Posies Die-namics, the Regal Rose Die-namics and the new Regal Rose Leaves Die-namics.

I am totally loving the new Die-namics STAX...aren't you!? What a fabulous creation and a must-have item! The STAX Die-namics, stack beautifully leaving a nice thin border when layered alternately from both the STAX1 and STAX2 and they emboss effortlessly! The STAX Die-namics  are a thin metal die and have a plastic backing so you can see through them to get the prefect positioning of your stamped images, HERE is a link to a video by MFT Designer, Jody, giving a tour of the Oval STAX!

I've put together a little photo tutorial showing how to use the Circle Die-namics STAX to make a mask so you can ink the background of your image with Distress inks...one of my favourite things to do!!!
Photobucket
But before I share my photo tutorial, here is the inside of my card. I stamped another one of the sweet sentiments that comes in the PI Dress Up Diva set and I used the Fishtail Flags STAX and stamped the PI girl again too.

 Photobucket
So here's the photo tutorial...it is a bit long, sorry!
First cut a circle from plain cardstock, Eclipse Tape or another masking tape using the same size STAX Die-namics as you used to cut out and emboss your image. I have used a large circle STAX die from STAX set 1.

(Note: I have tried this technique with the 6" wide Eclipse Tape too and it worked beautifully. If you use the Eclipse Tape you can eliminate some of the steps that I have shown here because it has a low-tack adhesive backing. I found this tip works equally well with both the cardstock and masking tape.)
Photobucket
Then using the next size down from the Circle STAX 2, align the smaller die in the centre of the cardstock circle and run it through your die-cutting machine again. You will be left with a thin circular frame that we will use as our mask.
 Photobucket
This is where the Eclipse tape is handy as it has a low-tack adhesive backing on it but I just added some temporary dot adhesive to the cardstock frame mask so I can adhere it over the embossed edge of my image.
Photobucket
adhere the mask around the embossed edge of your image. (I usually colour my image first but this is just a sample)
 Photobucket
Ink around the image with your Distress inks, ink blending applicator tool, ink blending foam pad and a Non-Stick Craft sheet. I find that I get the best results inking when on a slick surface as the foam applicator glides better.

Photobucket
Remove the mask and remove any little bits of temporary adhesive that my be on your image. If you use the Eclipse tape there is no adhesive residue left behind. You can save your cardstock mask and use it again but I found that when I removed the Eclipse Tape mask it lost its shape because it is such a thin frame and the masking tape is very thin. It may be difficult to re-use a thin Eclipse Tape mask a second time.

 Photobucket
Thanks SO much for sticking to the end of this long post!!! I really wanted to show that you can use your MFT STAX Die-namics to make a mask and then ink the background and have that crisp white embossed edge!

I made a card with one of the new Pure Innocence stamps in the MFT April release! This release we have Policeman, Policewomen, Dress Up Diva, Scientist and this is Pure Innocence, Magician. I just adore her...she is just magical! I coloured PI Magician girl with my Copics and cut the image out with the New Circle STAX Die-namics and cut several circles, layering with the Circle STAX 1 and 2 sets and the Dizzy Doily Die-namics and I love how layering with the New Circle STAX 1 and 2 sets here changes up the look of the Dizzy Doily! I also used the new Chevron Stripes Border Die-namics. I teamed PI Magician up with this pretty Teresa Collins Carolina Breeze 6x6 paper pad for this card and black bling flourishes. The cute sentiment comes with the PI Magician set and is stamped on white card cut with the Oval die from the Mini Tab Foursome Die-namics set.
Photobucket
Here is the inside...I stamped the PI Magician Girl again and used another sentiment from the set. I used the Layered Labels Die-namics set and the ribbon die from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics.

Thanks so much for stoppin' by and havin' a wee peek at my card featuring the Pure Innocence Magician Stamp from the NEW April release! Please pop on over to Kim's blog to see all the cute creations by the MFT Designers featuring the NEW Pure Innocence stamps.

So, for my card today I thought I would take the opportunity to showcase one of the New My Favorite Things, A La Modes stamp sets that will be available in the MFT release on April 3rd 10 PM EST! This New A La Modes, Martinis On Me, was just perfect for a celebratory card for Lily Pad Cards First Birthday Blog Hop! I coloured up this fun ALM girlie with my Copic markers and to add a glossy look to the martini glass I used Viva Decor Transparent Gloss-pen. The papers are Echo Park Victorian Gardens. I also used the new MFT Fishtails Flags STAX Die-namics, the new Chevron Stripes Border Die-namics and the Say What Die-namics dies on my card. To embellish I added a pretty pink pearl and gem flourish that I cut up and sprinkled around the card. The sentiment comes in the great ALM, Martinis On Me stamp set and I stamped it on the Say What speech bubble.
Photobucket
Here is a close up shot of the Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Pen on the image.

Photobucket
Here is the inside of my card...I stamped the ALM, Martinis On Me girlie again and used the MFT New Circle STAX Die-namics, a sentiment from the Big Greetings Stamp set which will be released on April 3rd 10 PM EST at MFTstamps. I also used the Framed Greetings Die-namics die too.

Today we are featuring the new My Favorite Things, A La Modes Stamp sets for the April Release! I have used the sweet A La Modes An Apple for Teacher...I just adore this sweet set. I decided to make a card and K-Cup Teacher Gift set. I thought this would be a nice gift for my daughter's teacher, Ms. George! I teamed up the sweet ALM girlie with the MME On the Bright Side 6x6 paper pad. I coloured her with my Copics, paper pieced her out-fit and her giant apple...SO cute!

I cut her out and popped her up on the panel that I made using the Open scalloped Doily Die-namics cut from corrugated card. I also used the NEW Die-namics Circle STAX 1 and 2 to layer the cardstock and patterned paper on the Doily. The Circle STAXs nest perfectly and make such a nice thin border when you layer both STAX 1 and STAX 2 together. They also co-ordinate perfectly with the various MFT Doily Circle Die-namics too. So, do you love the new Fishtail Flags STAX as much as me???? it's SO on trend right now....I'm seeing the Fishtail everywhere!!! Personally, I've always found it a bit tricky to cut the perfect fishtail "by hand" but that problem is SOLVED with the NEW Fishtail Flag STAX.
Photobucket
So, I'm a little obsessed with my Keurig Coffee maker at the mo and my daughter tells me her teacher,  Ms. George, is too! Apparently they even have one in the teacher's lounge at her school. So, I picked up a few Spiced Apple and Caramel Apple Cider K-cups and wrapped them in a cellophane bag. I used the new Let's Toast Die-namics to create the packaging for my little K-cup gift tag. The Let's Toast Die is intended to decorate a bottle of wine but I love how versatile the MFT Die-namics and stamp sets are. So, I used the Circle STAX 1 and STAX 2 Die-namics to make a little disk so the opening of the bottle tag is smaller to fit around the cellophane packaging and so it won't slide off. I also used the NEW By The Letters Upercase Die-namics to spell out the word "BEST" and stamped the word teacher from the NEW, ALM, An Apple for Teacher set and layered it over one of the mini Doilies from the, New Mini Doily Circles Die-namics, to co-ordinate with the card.

Photobucket
Here is the inside...I stamped the ALM girl again and the rest of the "Thank you" sentiment from the ALM, An Apple for Teacher Set.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card and K-Cup teacher gift set! Please pop by Kim's blog to see more samples featuring the new MFT A La Mode sets for the April release by the fabulously crafty MFT Designers!

Happy Stampin'!
