SugarPea Designs - Mix It Up # 5 - Whisky Business

Hello Stampin' friends! I made a card yesterday for Hannah's 17th B-day...which is today and I still can't believe she is 17 years old...where has the time gone?!....Well, I think getting inky yesterday  sparked up my crafty spirit or magically rekindled my absent mojo. So, I headed back down to my craft-room this afternoon on a mission to make a card for the SPD - Mix It Up # 5 Challenge (LOVE the concept of this FUN challenge) with this sweet SugarPea Designs Whisky Business Stamp set...ADORE her to bits!

I took inspiration from both the sketch and the from some of the beautiful and vibrant colours in the yummy inspirational photo!

I started off by making some watercolored paper with my Peerless Water Colors inspired by some of the yummy colours from the Mix it Up inspirational photo. While, my water colour paper was drying I coloured up the Whisky Business girl, the KitchenAid stand-mixer, whisk attachment and the layered cake with my Copics and cut them out with the coordinating Whisky Business Sugar Cuts.

I used the largest and second largest die from the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles Sugar Cuts to create the frame and popped it up on the card with foam adhesive. I cut the fishtail banner from the Stitched Flags Sugar Cuts and stamped a sentiment from the Whisky Business Stamp set on water-coloured paper with a smaller stitched fishtail flag also from the Stitched Flags Sugar Cuts. I wrapped the stitched sentiment flag with purple AC Hemp Twine and popped up the adorable little stand-mixer. Finally, I sprinkled around some pretty purple YNS Gumdrops

And I finished off the inside of the card, as per usual, with a water coloured tag cut with the Gift Tag Sugar Cuts,  stamped another sentiment from the set and then popped up the layered cake on the tag.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and havin' a little look at my Whisky Business card for the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge # 5!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - March 15 - Rainbow...Lucky Me...

Hello stampin' friends! Welcome to the NEW challenge over at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Rainbow!  I knew when I saw the NEW CCIC challenge was Rainbow I had to use my Reverse Confetti Weather it Together Stamp set and coordinating Weather it Together Confetti Cuts. I thought I would do some watercolouring too; inspired by the pretty vases of coloured water in the inspiration photo.

I needed some inspiration for the card design and found this great sketch over at Sunday Stamps...perfect for my rainbow card!

I used a technique that I've coined "Reverse Watercolour".  I made several swatches of watercoloured paper by laying down a watercolour wash with my Peerless Watercolours. I set the sheets aside and allowed them to dry. When dry, I strategically die-cut various shapes from the water coloured paper and stamp over the watercolouring. I cut the circles from various watercoloured swatches of paper with the Reverse Confetti Circles 'N Scallops Confetti Cuts. I stamped the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti A Friend Like You Stamp set  on the large yellow circle. I cut the clouds and sun from the watercoloured swatches and then stamped with the coordinating stamps from Weather it Together Stamp set.  I added a smattering of Your Next Stamp Gumdrops in various rainbow colours. Finally, I used Heidi Swapp Black Velvet Color Shine spray mixed with a little water and spattered the card and added an AC Hemp cord bow to the sun.

Thanks So much for stopping by and havin' a wee peek at my Reverse Confetti rainbow card for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Rainbow.

I've been seeing so many beautiful cards with a watercolour wash background that I thought I would give it a try! So, I set my Copic markers aside, pulled out my Peerless Watercolours, watercolour paper and the NEW The Buzz Stamp set. I used the Watercolour Wash Technique to make the background panels and added some splatters with Heidi Swap Teal Color Shine. I stamped the bee hive, large bee and tiny bee with VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink, watercolored them too, cut them out with the coordinating The Buzz Confetti Cuts and popped them up on the panel cut with the Documented Confetti Cuts.

I stamped this sweet sentiment from the NEW The Buzz Stamp set with VersaFine Vintage Sepia Ink directly on the background panel. I cut out the sun with the NEW Sun'n Clouds Confetti Cuts from some water colour paper that was painted with yellow Peerless Watercolours and added a little circle to the centre of the sun that I cut with the small circle die from the Donut You Know Confetti Cuts. I embellished with some brown cord layered over a little flower from the NEW The Tweet Life Confetti Cuts and a sprinkling of yellow Gumdrops fished it off.

I finished off the inside of my card too...I stamped another sentiment from the NEW The Buzz Stamp set and added another watercoloured bee hive and stamped a shadow image of the tiny bee with VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink.

Thanks SO much for buzzing by and having a little peek at my card with the NEW The Buzz Stamp set and coordinating The Buzz Confetti Cuts. All the stamps and Confetti Cuts are NOW Available over at the Reverse Confetti Store

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Preview Day # 2...Puddles of Love!!!!

Oh Happy Day!!! It's Friday, it's the weekend and we are having a long weekend here!!! Monday is Family Day...hope you all have a very happy Family Day long weekend! I am also excited to share another Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Preview card with you toady! But before I do, I want to thank you all for the very sweet comments that you left for my Alicia card yesterday! WOW...I knew Alicia would be a fan favourite! She is just too cute for words!

Well, this next stamp is equally as cute and it is from Crissy's Cuties collection illustrated by Crissy Armstrong and comes with a very sweet sentiment, Puddles of Love!

For this card I used BasicGrey Origins and coloured this sweet image with Twinkling H20s! I didn't have a yellow Twinkling H20 so I pulled out my Peerless Transparent Water colours that I have had for a while now and hardly even touched because they just seemed so intimidating. Well, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to use and I'm quite happy with the results. I used some ribbon from my stash, Prima flowers with BG brads and my Fiskars Apron Lace border punch! The co-ordinating sentiment was stamped on a Nesties tag.

Here is the inside...this sentiment is from the Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments set!

Well, Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek! Tomorrow is Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge day and it is also another sneak peek at the February release and Sunday is out big blog hop release day! So, make sure you come back to visit and also visit the KKS blog and check out all the other fabulous previews that the Krafty Girls have to share...they are just stunning!

Hugs,
