New BasicGrey Challenge # 25...Stitiching Real or Faux...Cool Oakley!!!

Hello crafty friends! I've missed you all terribly! It feels like such a long time since I've blogged or visited any of you and I am afraid my crafty mojo has upped and left me too! Perhaps, I lost it while we were camping, lol! We had a good time camping at Arrowhead Provincial Park but there were active bears in the park and that is always a little off putting for me, yikes! The kids did some fishing which was fun! Kieran caught 3 fish and Hannah caught 1! We had lots of fun at the beach and also going into Huntsville...such a cute little town in Muskoka! We have a few more camping trips coming up soon so not a lot of time for crafting but it is good to be outside enjoying the summer!

Well, It is time for another great challenge at BasicGrey Challenges! We would like to see stitching, either real or faux! Just remember that you must follow the challenge and use at least one BG item on your creation to be eligible for the generous prize, a $25 Voucher for Simon Says Stamp, our fabulous sponsor!!!!

For my card I decided to ink up Oakley from the Whiff of Joy June Stamp kit. I think he is such a cool dude! I also made a joy fold card that I found the fab tutorial for by Beate on Splitcoast. I modified the dimensions so that I had a 6x6 cardbase and I used American Crafts cardstock and Bazzill kraft cardstock! The pp is not actually BG it is We R Memory Keepers called Show & Tell. I thought it was perfect for a boy card! I stamped the faux stitching all around the various panels for the card with my Kelly Panaci Stitching stamps and Black Soot Distress ink. For my BG item I used a Max & Whiskers Stitched Brad and I cut a QK tag from Max and Whiskers pp and stamped the Kraftin' Kimmie Sentiment stamp from the Kimmie's Holiday Sentiment set on it!

For the inside of the joy fold card I stamped and coloured the sand castle also from the WOJ June kit. I cut it out with my Nesties left the image in the die and inked with Tumbled Glass and Pumice Stone Distress ink.

I stamped another sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie's Mermaid Sentiment set on the inside of the card.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek! I hope you get some crafty time in and you have 2 weeks to play along with us! Please pop on over to the BasicGrey Challenges blog and have a peek at the stunning creations the BG DT has designed! You will be so inspired to pull out your sewing machine or to get those stitching stamps out or both!
Have a stampin' great day!

Perhaps the bears growled at your mojo & he decided to come back to you as it is much safer with you. This is absolutely stunning & has encouraged me to have a go at a Joy Fold. The combination of papers is superb - have never had any Basic Grey so that's a gap to plug. Thank you so much for a delightful eye feast.

Tara, so glad to have you back in blogland ;D This card is so fantastic, I don't even know where to start! Many times, masculine cards can be somewhat boring (at least the ones I make are), but this one is wonderful. Super details, rich colors, cool folds...perfect! Hugz, Cheryl
