Kraftin' Kimmie's Magnolia Challenge...The Lazy days of Summer!

I started colouring the Tilda image for this card and had a Copic colouring emergency, lol!!! I started to run out of ink in my Skin White Copic marker. I know it isn't the end of the world but let me tell you I was freakin' out!!! I couldn't refill it cuz I haven't bought any of the refillers yet! I guess I will be making a trip to Curry's Art Supply store today and then I will have to figure out how to refill my marker. I didn't want to throw in the towel on this card, so, I used some other copic markers, like, babyskin pink and milky white, for the skin tone instead. I am pretty happy with how it turned out!

I made this card to enter Kraftin' Kimmie's Magnolia Challenge! It was sooo much fun and she has great Magnolia blog candy for the lucky person! Go check out her blog if you haven't already!!!

I have to tell you I just love Kimmie's style!!! It is so fresh, with clean-lines and understated beauty! Every embellishment is placed just so, I love her colour combos and her colouring technique is just flawless. She is a great inspiration!!! I pretty much lifted everything from her original design that she used to make her date book.

Again, I used the new 6X6 pad of BG Euphoria pp and Bazzill Basics Monochromatic cardstock in Maraschino for the base and Sweetheart for the mat and scalloped oval. I cut out the oval and scalloped oval on my Silhoutte. I used my Tim Hotlz Tonic paper distressing tool to rough up the edges of the pp and added some grosgrain ribbon. (The ribbon was from the dollar store and was very wrinkled from the way the package it. A quick tip for "ironing" wrinkled ribbon is to run it through your flat iron a few times. I did it and it worked like a charm and took no time at all!) I stamped Tilda with Lace Skirt on Georgia Pacific paper with Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers then cut her out. I added the Prima flowers that I got a Micheals and a big MM brad. I love the white frosting stuff on some of the flowers...they look so yummy! The sentiment is a Mellisa Frances rub-on. They are the best rub-ons on the market. I just love the "font" that is used for these rub-ons and I discovered that it is actually Sherelle Christensen's handwriting, WOW! She is my favourite DT member for Melissa Frances. You should check out her blog she is an amazing photographer and papercrafter/scrapbooker.

I hope you have a great sunny week and hopefully you will have your own lazy day of summer!!! Not sure when I will be able to stamp and blog again with all the business of summer so but I sure hope you have lots of fun stampin'!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look-see!
