Well, perhaps you have stopped by over the last few weeks and noticed that I have been rather delinquent in my stamping/posting duties. Well, its not like I'm a daily blogger like my good friend
Kraftin' Kimmie (I honestly don't know how she does it all and
soooo fabulously, I might add, smile) but I was making a concerted effort there to post at least once a weekend. Now that summer is finally here I think I may have to reevaluate that stamping/blogging goal. You see, we camp, well, the kids and my husband camp and I trudge along somewhat begrudgingly. Yes, it does have some good points, I will admit, I get to take some great pics of the kids and us convening with nature and frolicking on the beach (well, they frolic, I read) and I guess we get to spend "quality" time together, if that is what you would call all that sibling bickering, fighting and squabbling (I do hope this stage passes soon) but really I guess it isn't that bad
cuz I insisted that
dh buy a trailer or it would have been a no go for sure. I am not sleeping on the ground...yuck!! So, that is where I have been, camping not stamping, sigh! So, we still have a few more stints at various other provincial parks here in beautiful Ontario...if you see that I fall behind in my posting duties again, go stamp up something real cute and think of me, smile!
So, now do you wanna hear about the darn card or what, he he he!!! I made it following along with this weeks
FS sketch #9 by
Carole from England! Great sketch as they all are, smile! So, I thought I would do something a little different and try to shake up the creative juices, so to speak. I have been dying to use these cute Magnolia angle wings stamps that I got in my last big order but have been struggling to come up with a good way to use them on a card. I thought I would do a little
blurffing for some inspiration and see how others have used these angle wings. Well, no luck, I didn't find one card that actually used the magnolia angle wings stamp, strange, but I did get inspired by
Luaren Meader's post about the mother load of Magnolia stamps she just got (can we say jealous!!!) and her beautiful creations that she made with them. Especially, this adorable
card that inspired me to NOT use a magnolia "angle" but just the angle wings. I stamped the wings with Archival Brilliance Black Graphite ink on a cloud like blueish sheet of pp from the
Prima Marketing
Shasha Collection 5X7 pack, cut them out and add crystal
stickles. I made the card according to the
FS sketch again using the
Prima pp
Shasha collection and the
cardbase from
Bazzill Basics fuchsia
bling cardstock. I inked the edges of the pp and
cardstock and then cut the heart from some fuchsia felt (get it heart-felt, chuckle) with my
QK and stitched around it with embroidery floss. I then added my old trusty Melissa Frances rub-
ons, oh, the word "thanks" is actually a
QK rub-on...I love them too. I then assembled it all and used some pop-dots to give it some dimension and I am quite happy with how it turned out,
yay!!

The best part is that my daughter told me she really, really likes this card and I know it's true
cuz then she asked me who I was going to give it to, smile. Sometimes she offers up some rather harsh criticism of my cards and for some strange reason she isn't that fond of the little Magnolia angles like me (she is weirded out that they don't have mouths, whatever, I love them!) so, I am thankful to receive that heartfelt compliment from her!!! I also, have to say that my dear Hannah is growing up. She turned 9 when we were on our camping trip last Thursday...I can't believe it...wow,the time has just flown by!
So, I thought I would sign off with a few pics from our camping trip at
MacGregor Point in Midwestern Ontario...it was beautiful and in spite of the squabbling, bugs and not such great weather (I like it real hot and it is windy on Lake Huron) we did have a great time together as a family and even though I didn't get to create anything crafty we created some wonderful memories and for that I am truly thankful!

Well, I am going to check the mail...I'm crossing my fingers that my Magnolia summer
stampclub kit is here. I have seen a few other stamper out there have got theirs already. I hope it at least comes before we go camping again.
Thanks for stopping by!
