Well, I thought I would share the layout and card I made following the fabulous sketch Martine posted for the BasicGrey Challenge blog DT call! Now, I still used Christmas paper but not Wassail, smile! This time I used the Mistletoe and Pear BG 12X12 pp and the Bazzill cardstock pack that co-ordinates with it! I had to get it when I saw this tartan paper. Now, "me ol' Da" is originally from N. Ireland, Co.Down and he wears a Saffron kilt not a tartan, of course, smile! But we had many Scottish friends who had emigrated to Canada, just like him. And I just love different tartans they bring back good childhood memories of our very close family friends, the MacDonalds! Now, I can't tell you the name of this tartan or if it is even an official tartan but I love it just the same!
This is one of my favourite pics of my DD Hannah on Christmas day 2003, at my parents house and I hadn't scrapbooked it. So, I used this fab sketch by Martine. I can't believe my baby has grown up so much! Hannah loved looking at this old pic and she couldn't believe she was actually wearing a turtle neck cuz she hates them (I love them)! I told her that she was only 4 so I could "make" her wear what I wanted then, lol! Not any more, she is 9 years old now and has a mind of her own!

Now, this is the card that I made again with the Mistletoe and Pear 12X12 pp and coordinating Bazzill Basics cardstock pack and following Martine's sketch. I used one of my new Magnolia stamps for the Winter Stampclub....just love Tilda and Edwin skating....so sweet!!! I stamped it with Memento ink on Georgia Pacific paper and coloured it with my Copic markers and Twinkling H20s. I used white acrylic paint for the highlights and lots of crystal Stickles. I stamped one of the Magnolia snowflakes from last year around the edges of the image. I loved this blue velvet ribbon for this card. Again inspired by more childhood memories...I Irish danced competitively as a young girl and we also went to Highland dancing competitions to see the dancers. Their costumes often had velvet vests. I think the velvet is sooo pretty with the tartan!

I wonder if the Mistletoe and Pear will come out in a 6X6 pad....wouldn't that be fabulous!? The sentiment is a QK 1$ acrylic stamp that I got at the Scrapbook Academy!

Well, since I was reminiscing about my childhood, I thought I would add this pic of a 8X8 scrapbooking layout that I did for my "All about Me" album. I am about 10 0r 11 years old in these pics. My mom had no idea what she was getting into (she isn't Irish) when I started dancing. Little did she know she was going to learn how to embroider by hand and that she would have to embroider all the designs on my 6 0r 8 panel dress and the cape. I think she did a fabulous job!!!! My grandmother was a furrier and seamstress so she made my dress. I don't know why I have white tights and ballet slippers on instead of my proper soft shoes and socks....too funny! I must have just put the dress on to get some pics. Now, this was before Irish dancers started with the big curly hair pieces and neon costumes...thank god, lol! what's up with that anyways!???? Not all Irish girls have curly hair....I guess I just don't get it.lol!!! Any other fellow Irish dancers out there!?

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look-see!
Oh, I have also received a fabulous new award from Poppy and Tab! I will post it separately later as I think this post is long enough, smile! I am rambling again..as me ol da likes to say "I must have been vaccinated with a gramophone needle", ha ha ha ba haaaaa ha ha!
Hugs,
