My Favorite Things Stamps...Splitcoast Love Fest...Home Sweet Home!

Hi stampin' friends! I was over at the MFT blog today and they are hosting a Heartfelt challenge LOVEFEST2014H for the SCS 2014 Love Fest! The MFT challenge is to use Heartfelt Greetings as the inspiration for your project. Get sentimental on a card or layout, create a simple "just wanted to say hi!" card that features a heart, or simply use some felt to create an element on your project! There are so many directions this challenge can take you. LOTS of wonderful inspiration here and so I thought it was the perfect challenge for a housewarming card that I needed to make.  

For my card I followed the top left sketch from the Blueprints 12 PDF.

I made the card from MFT Replenishments Heavyweight Card Stock in Sweet Tooth, Sno Cone, Bubblegum Pink, Pink Lemonade, Steel Grey, and Grout Grey. I used Blueprints 12, Stitched Circle STAX and the Swiss Dots Die-namics. The sentiments are from the Western Sentiments set and Homespun Birdhouse Sentiment Set (retired) and stamped with MFT Steel Grey Premium Dye ink. I added a little heart on the stitched banner from the NEW Smart Phone Die-namics. 

I finished the inside too...I used the Celebratory Greetings Die-namics and layered the Stitched Circle STAX and the Heirloom Label.

Splitcoaststampers LOVEFEST2013G - MFT - Make My Day!!!

Hello Stampin' Friends!  I made valentine's cards and gourmet Jelly bean filled treat cones, for my family. Valentine's day sneaked up on me this year, after a stressful and scary month...it's been a bit of blur. My husband, Chris, very unexpectedly started having abdominal pain and ended up in the hospital for a week. We are SO glad that he is home, feeling better and after much worrying, waiting to see the specialist, he says it was a one-of event...phew! What a huge relief!!! I thought they could all use a special valentine card!

For my project I made a large 6x6 card for my husband, Chris, with the Doodle Garden I'm Raptor Around Your Finger Stamp set. I was inspired to try the "Pointillism" colouring technique featured by MFT Designer Michele Boyer in the recent MFT Academy tutorial ...SO much fun!!!  I used Echo Park - Love Story 6x6 paper pad and matted with Wild Cherry, Cotton Candy and Black Licorice Heavyweight Card Stock.  I cut the image out with my OVAL STAX Die-namics and coloured in the ground and grass with my PrismaColor Pencils and inked with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I also cut the Layered Heard Border Die-namics from Wild Cherry Heavyweight Card Stock and Steele Grey Heavyweight Card Stock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Doodle Garden - Raptor Around Your Finger on Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink and cut with the ribbon die from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics. I also added a flower cut from MFT Replenishment Felt, Wild Cherry, Bubblegum Pink, Steel Grey I added Red Hot button tied with Hemp Cord. 

Here is the inside of the card...I stamped the little Raptor from the Doodle Garden Raptor Around Your Finger stamp set in Wild Cherry Premium Dye Ink and a sentiment from the Doodle Garden Sweet Friend Stamp set and added a Bubblegum Pink Felt heart cut with the Rustic Hearts Die-namics.

I cut the Cone Treat Box Die-namics from acetate and filled them with gourmet Jelly beans. I embellished the cone treat boxes with Hybrid Heirloom flowers cut from MFT Wild Cherry, Bubblegum Pink and Steel Grey felt with the Large and Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics and added Red Hot buttons tied with Hemp cord. I stamped the XOXO from the PI All Occasions Stamp set on Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock cut with the Howdy Frames Die-namics.

I also made two smaller, A2, CAS-like cards for my children, Hannah and Kieran. The first one is for Hannah...I made the cards from Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock and stamped and coloured the image on with my Copics and added in the grass with my PrismaColor Pencils. popped up the white panel on the base. I added a few pattern paper strips cut with the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics. I added a Red Hot Button tied with hemp cord and a heart punched out from the Layered Border Die-namics. 

Here is the inside...very simple! 

This card is for my son, Kieran...I added a few more fishtail strips and a round tag from the Howdy Frames Die-namics stamped with the XOXO sentiment from the PI All Occasions Stamp Set.
