This is the beautiful inspirational photo - June 1 - Succulent
I was inspired by the photo that we have for the June 1 Curtain Call Challenge. I really wanted to see if I could make my own sweet little succulents. I searched through my stash of MFT felt and MFT flower Die-namics to create a bunch of different "succulents". I used the Royal Roses Die-namics, Rolled Roses Die-namics, Rolled Daisy Die-namics, Rolled Mum and Rolled Gardinea Die-namics. I also used the leaf dies from Blueprints 14 and Poinsettia Die-namics. I sponged with Distress inks on the edges of the petals to get the variation in colour that is seen on many succulents. I was originally going to make a card with the felt succulents but I had too many to pick from and they were a little too big and bulky for a card. I shifted gears and decided to make a 3D project and used the MFT Trapezoid Treat Box Die-namics and the Flower Basket Die-namics cut from Snow Cone Heavyweight Cardstock.
Here's a detail shot looking down on the Flower Basket filled with felt "succulents". I stuffed the basket with tissue paper and then added some burlap and then adhered everything in place.
The sentiment was rather serendipitous....the sentiment caught my eye as it was on a treat tent (with a root-beer sucker) sitting on the shelf in my craft room. I decided to "re-purpose" this sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Sugary Sweet Sentiments Stamp set for this basket full of felt "succulents".
I stamped the sentiment with Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink on Whip Cream Heayweigh Cardstock cut with the Reverse Confetti Folded Tag Confetti Cuts. I Embellished a sprinkling of mint green sequence tied the Folded Tag with Hemp cord.
Thank SO much for stopping by and havin' a little look at my card for the Curtain Call Challenge June 1 - Succulents! I hope you can join this FUN challenge!
