Today I am sharing a chalkboard frame that I made for my daughter, Hannah, to put in her room, so she can make little notes and reminders of upcoming events or important dates and it's cute...I think! I have taken the opportunity to write a little message on it myself, smile!

So, I saw this cool chalkboard paper at the craft store and thought I could make a little message board with it. The frame was only $10 from Homesense and I used this gorgeous 12X12 My Minds Eye, Indie Chic, Ginger papers, the super cute NEW Pure Innocence Hula Girl, the NEW Hibiscus Die-namics and Designer Label 2 STAX, along with several other MFT Die-namics.

First, I stamped out 3 Hula girls, coloured them with my Copics and cut them out and then assembled the inside panel to create a little scene using the Simply Scallops, Fresh Cut Grass, Large Leafy Flourish, and Photo Corner Die-namics. I stamped a sentiment from the PI Hula Girl set on pattern paper cut with the ribbon die from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics.  This panel is under the glass of the frame.

I then cut some chalkboard paper with the largest of the beautiful NEW Designer Label 2 STAX...LOVE the Designer label STAXs. To make a small mat for the chalkboard paper I cut around the outer edge of the same die with my Fingertip Grip Craft Knife on a glass mat. I ran the chalkboard paper and cardstock mat through my Xyron to get a good overall coverage of a strong, permanent adhesive. Then I adhered them together and then to the top of the glass of the frame.

Here you can see the chalkboard paper Designer Label 2 is on top of the glass. This is so you can wipe off your old message and write a new one with easy access.

You can write on the chalkboard paper with regular old chalk but I found fabulous chalk markers at the teacher supply store. They work much better and don't rub off unless you wipe it off with a wet paper towel.

I cut several flowers with the NEW Hibiscus Die-namics and the gorgeous leaf that comes with it. I also used my Botanical Beauty Die-nmaics and Large Leafy Flourish Die-namics to create the floral spray on the bottom left and top right corner of the frame. I assembled the flowers and used a couple Ginger epoxy brads in the centres of two flowers. Then arranged and adhered all the flowers with my glue gun so they are adhered securely. I also sprinkled yellow gems here and there for some sparkle. I stamped the sentiment "Just a Note" from the MFT More Essential Sentiments stamp set on pattern paper cut with the ribbon die.
