My Favorite Things...WSC Challenge a sketch & Crazy4Challenges...Read it and Weep...!

Good morning...well it is the first day of school, whoot, whoot!!! I know my kiddos are very excited about heading back to school and hitting the books, smile! It will be nice to get back into a regular routine again but I just dread the thought of packing lunches, yuck!

Well, I am here to share a card I made for the My Favourite Things Wednesday Stamp Club. They have a gorgeous sketch this week but I'm not sure if I missed the deadline to enter the challenge or not I did finally manage to get the card uploaded to SCS last night so I might have made by the skin of my teeth...oh well, it was great to use this new MFT WTG Well Read set, regardless! I also made this card for the the fun challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges...Celebrate books!

I made my cardbase from Prism cardstock and teamed it up with some yummy October Afternoon dp and Paper Pieced the WTG image. I cut out the image with this Nestie Die as I always think it looks like an open book and left the image in the die and inked with Old Paper Distress ink. The gorgeous crochet ribbon is a RAK from my sweet blogging and BG DT member Tara W. I printed the sentiment on the computer using the same Wendy Medium font the MFT uses and this is my favorite font...love it bits! Hannah was watching a kid movie the other night and this was the title of it. I thought it would be a great sentiment for this Well Read set.

I'm not sure if you ever felt that you just didn't want the book you were reading to come to an end. I often have a little let down after I'm done a good book. I almost miss the characters that I have grown to know and love while reading the book! Well, I thought this card would be the perfect companion with the gift of a great book to a friend!
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having wee peek at my card!
Have a stampin' great day!
Hugs,

  6. So much lovely detail & I love the paper piecing. That nestie works so well too as do all the papers. The buttons are a super embellishment so apt for the rest of the colour scheme.
