WOJ Guest DT Call....Santa Stop Here!!!!

Well, when I saw that Katharina has a call out for a Guest DT spot for WOJ Stamps, on the WOJ group page, over at Paper Craft Planet, I just had to give it a go!!! Just follow the fabulous sketch that Katherina created that is posted on PCP....go check it out!!! Entries will be accepted until Saturday Dec. 6 th at 8:00 pm GMT and all the deets are here!!!
So, I thought I would continue with my run on Christmas cards. I hope you aren't all sick of them! I just have so many to make that there is not time to deviate from my Christmas card production!!! Now, I think I have a wee glimpse, into the stress Santa must be feeling, right about now, he he he!!!
Again, I used my beloved BG Wassail pp, Kraft cardstock, Bazzill Basics Pomegranate cardstock, and some new white Bazzill cardstock that is embossed with a Swiss Dot pattern...just love this paper! I inked the edges of my pp and cut the QK Digital Design, apple border, on my Silhouette and cut the QK Christmas tag with my Squeeze.

I stamped Willow with Cookies on Georgia Pacific paper with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers and Twinkling H2Os. I add some highlights with white acrylic paint and sparkle with lots of Stickles!!! I sponged Metallic rub-ons around the main image. The sentiment is a QK rub-on that came with the Vixen alphabet gift set a few years ago!!!

Willow has baked up some lovely Apple Hermits for Santa, smile!!! So, I thought it would be only fitting to include the recipe for the Apple Hermits in the card, YUM-O!!! I cut the recipe card on my Silhouette and downloaded the recipe from allrecipes.com , printed it, adhered it to the recipe card (the recipe continues on the back of the card) and clipped it to the American Craft ribbon with a fancy paper clip!!!

Well, there you have it!!! It would be so unbelievably, fabulous to be a guest DT member for WOJ stamps!!! But I know there is some real stiff competition out there, as so many talented ladies, have already uploaded there cards to the PCP WOJ group...go check it out!!! Now, I will just have to keep my fingers crossed and maybe eat a few cookies too!!!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look-see! Don't forget to go check out the WOJ group on Paper Craft Planet!!!

BG Challenges # 12.....Ho Ho Ho...Hurry Charlotte! Santa is here!!!!!

Well, I finally made a card for the BG challenges # 12....embossing! I have been using my Cuttlebug embossing folders on all my Christmas cards this year so this was the perfect challenge for me!!! This is # 15 out the 40 cards that I have to make. Somehow this list just keeps getting longer and longer, smile! I hope I can get them all made in time!!!

Well, isn't Charlotte trimming the tree just the cutest image!?I loved colouring it and I am so glad that I decided to use these WOJ stamps on my cards this year!!! They are just so sweet! I coloured this image with my Copics and Twinkling H20s. I added white highlights with acrylic paint and lots of Stickles for some bling!!!

In my blog hopping travels I came across a really great idea for the Qk Goosebumpz dies. Now I can't remember for the life of me, who's fabulous blog it was that I saw this on. Soooo sorry!!! I have several of the Qk embossing dies but I don't really use them that often, so, when I saw this brilliant idea, I knew I had to give it a go!!!! So, I embossed here and there around the edges of the main image and rubbed gold metallic rub-ons over the embossing to make it stand out a little more!!! I think it looks like Charlotte has left trimming the tree to the last minute and Santa is announcing his arrival!!!!

To finish the card off I added some American Craft ribbon and I used the new Star Ribbon slider die. It's one of the Christmas QK 1$ Cookie Cutter dies.

Well, there you have it!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look!

BasicGrey Challenge DT call sketch...Christmas Memories!

Well, I thought I would share the layout and card I made following the fabulous sketch Martine posted for the BasicGrey Challenge blog DT call! Now, I still used Christmas paper but not Wassail, smile! This time I used the Mistletoe and Pear BG 12X12 pp and the Bazzill cardstock pack that co-ordinates with it! I had to get it when I saw this tartan paper. Now, "me ol' Da" is originally from N. Ireland, Co.Down and he wears a Saffron kilt not a tartan, of course, smile! But we had many Scottish friends who had emigrated to Canada, just like him. And I just love different tartans they bring back good childhood memories of our very close family friends, the MacDonalds! Now, I can't tell you the name of this tartan or if it is even an official tartan but I love it just the same!

This is one of my favourite pics of my DD Hannah on Christmas day 2003, at my parents house and I hadn't scrapbooked it. So, I used this fab sketch by Martine. I can't believe my baby has grown up so much! Hannah loved looking at this old pic and she couldn't believe she was actually wearing a turtle neck cuz she hates them (I love them)! I told her that she was only 4 so I could "make" her wear what I wanted then, lol! Not any more, she is 9 years old now and has a mind of her own!

Now, this is the card that I made again with the Mistletoe and Pear 12X12 pp and coordinating Bazzill Basics cardstock pack and following Martine's sketch. I used one of my new Magnolia stamps for the Winter Stampclub....just love Tilda and Edwin skating....so sweet!!! I stamped it with Memento ink on Georgia Pacific paper and coloured it with my Copic markers and Twinkling H20s. I used white acrylic paint for the highlights and lots of crystal Stickles. I stamped one of the Magnolia snowflakes from last year around the edges of the image. I loved this blue velvet ribbon for this card. Again inspired by more childhood memories...I Irish danced competitively as a young girl and we also went to Highland dancing competitions to see the dancers. Their costumes often had velvet vests. I think the velvet is sooo pretty with the tartan!

I wonder if the Mistletoe and Pear will come out in a 6X6 pad....wouldn't that be fabulous!? The sentiment is a QK 1$ acrylic stamp that I got at the Scrapbook Academy!
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, since I was reminiscing about my childhood, I thought I would add this pic of a 8X8 scrapbooking layout that I did for my "All about Me" album. I am about 10 0r 11 years old in these pics. My mom had no idea what she was getting into (she isn't Irish) when I started dancing. Little did she know she was going to learn how to embroider by hand and that she would have to embroider all the designs on my 6 0r 8 panel dress and the cape. I think she did a fabulous job!!!! My grandmother was a furrier and seamstress so she made my dress. I don't know why I have white tights and ballet slippers on instead of my proper soft shoes and socks....too funny! I must have just put the dress on to get some pics. Now, this was before Irish dancers started with the big curly hair pieces and neon costumes...thank god, lol! what's up with that anyways!???? Not all Irish girls have curly hair....I guess I just don't get it.lol!!! Any other fellow Irish dancers out there!?

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look-see!

Oh, I have also received a fabulous new award from Poppy and Tab! I will post it separately later as I think this post is long enough, smile! I am rambling again..as me ol da likes to say "I must have been vaccinated with a gramophone needle", ha ha ha ba haaaaa ha ha!

Better late than never BG #11...Edwin caught peeking!!!

Well, I am too late to officially enter this card in the BG challenge # 11 which was to make "one for the boys" but I though I would still share what I made with you! It is yet, another Christmas card with my fav Wassail paper! I hope you aren't getting sick of it!?

I have been trying to use some of the stamps that I already own on my Christmas cards. I thought this Edwin, dressed rather dapper and with is cute specs, from the Magnolia Back to School collection, would go nicely with this sentiment!!! I also used the note paper stamp from the Magnolia Back to School collection and stamped the Kelly Panacci sentiment on it.
I stamped Edwin on Georgia Pacific paper and coloured him in with my Copics, Twinkling H2Os and white acrylic paint for the highlights.
All my cards are made with kraft cardstock and Wassail BG pp, this one is no different. I have been keeping the layouts rather simple so that I can easily reproduce them. I embellished it with American Craft gold ribbon, Prima poinsettias, BG Wassail brads and lots of Stickles.
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!!!
Oh, by the way, I was just over at the BasicGrey challenge blog and they have a DT call for two DT members. Go check out the deets!!! I think I might give it a go!

CCT # 36 Red and Green....Tilda caught peeking,giggle!!!

Here is another card, from my Christmas card making marathon, last weekend. It just so happens to meet the required challenge of Red and Green for challenge # 36 at Cute Card Thursday! Although, the embossed strip is look more grey than green in this pic. I guess it is a grayish green and not a really a true Christmas green...but I think it still works!!!

Well, I haven't bought any of the new Magnolia Christmas stamps and my winter stamp club set hasn't arrived yet. Oh how I wish, I could have every new adorable Magnolia stamp that comes out but, unfortunately, I'm not independently wealthy, ha! So, I guess I need to try and use some restraint, lol!!! I thought I could still use some of my other Magnolia stamps on my Christmas cards, if I just got a little creative!

So, I thought laughing Tilda looks like she just got caught peeking at her Christmas gifts. The Kelly Panacci Christmas stamp set from last year had the perfect sentiment to go with this idea.

I used a QK embossing die called curls on the middle strip of paper. I sanded the paper a little and added some metallic rub-ons to it too.I coloured Tilda with my Copic and I also used my Twinkling H20's to add a little more depth and a subtle twinkle to the image. I am really loving how the H2O's look over the Copics....so glad I gave this a try,YAY!!!!

Well, it is another quick post tonight!!! I am really trying not to ramble on endless and state the obvious, in a attempt to keep my posts a little shorter!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek, *giggle*!

WOJ # 8 Boy & Girl Christmas but no blue!!!

Well, I am back from the scrapbooking retreat!!!! I had a great time with all my girlfriends! We ate well, scrapbooked and stamped our little hearts out to the wee hours and chit chatted too. We even got some snow, so, it looked very pretty on the trees and the lake. But I am still not a fan of the white stuff, smile! Then it turned to freezing rain and slushy snow. That lead to a little excitement as the hydro went out, do to the freezing rain bringing the hydro lines down. So, we scrapbooked in the cold and poor lighting all Sunday morning. We were all very glad to have the hydro come back on at lunch!

I missed not being able to post any of my Christmas cards that I was making over the weekend and I missed blog hopping around to see all your creations too. But I got a good start on them but not as many as I wanted to get down, sigh!

I also experimented with using twinkling H20s' to add highlight and depth over my Copic markers. I really like how it looks! I think I will be doing this all the time now. It just adds a nice subtle twinkle and it really brings out the colours! I also, love how it softens the rouge of the cheeks on my little friends here!

I have two cards to show you today that meet the challenge at the WOJ challenge blog this week. I am using my WOJ stamps for most of my Christmas cards this year and I am really happy with how they are turning out. I have totally fallen in love with Charlotte and Charlie and they were such a joy to colour!!!

So, for all my cards, I am using kraft cardstock and BG Wassail pp. I also picked up two packs of Bazzill Christmas cardstock at Micheals that coordinates with the Minds Eye Christmas pad but it also goes very nicely with the BG Wassail. I am using American Craft shimmery ribbon, BG brads and buttons and lots of Stickles and Prima pointsettias flowers to embellish. Oh , and some QK shapes too...can't forget my beloved QK, smile!!!

Well, I know this post hasn't been very exciting but I am pooped!!! It has been a long weekend and I really need to hit the hay!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look-see!

FS #27 and House Mouse # 13.....Baby Doll!!!!!

Well, I had so much fun with last week's, House Mouse & Friends Challenge, that I thought I would join in again this week! I also wanted to use this weeks fabulous sketch over at Friday Sketchers by Kristine....it was the perfect match!

Now, when I saw that this week's HM&F challenge was to use "JUNK" I was very excited!!! I know that sounds a little strange but I knew exactly how to "JUNK" up my card!!!

You see, I have been saving "JUNK" just for this kind of thing, smile!!! There was just one little problem! I don't own any House Mouse, Happy Hoppers or Gruffies stamps. Well, I soon rectified that problem with a trip to my LSS....he, he, he!!!

So, I inked up my new Happy Hoppers stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured it with my Copic markers. I cut it out with my square nesties and embossed it too. I distressed it with Walnut Distress Ink and Metallic rub-ons. The card base is made with kraft cardstock and the pp is Kelly Panacci baby paper that I have been hording forever. The "JUNK" is an Old Navy tag that was on a dress that I bought for my daughter last year. I just loved the ribbon and the tag that I couldn't possibly throw it out!

Well, I am pretty happy with how this card turned out! I finally got to use this old tag that I have been hanging on to for a year, I used some old Kelly Panacci pp and even managed to use a sticker from the co-ordinating sticker sheet.

I want to thank everyone for all the kind and supportive comments that you have been leaving for me! I really appreciate it!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look!!!

House Mouse & Friends Challenge # 12, BG Challenge # 10 & Sketch Saturday #24....Happy Holidays Snowmouse!!!

I discovered the House Mouse & Friends Challenge on Chris' blog, yesterday. I just loved her adorable card with this sweet little Happy Hopper eating a bushel full of apples. It was coloured so beautifully that it was the first time I was tempted by these sweet stamps. Unfortunately, I don't own any House Mouse stamps. Then, I remembered that my good friend Tara sent me a few House Mouse images. So, I picked this cutie, Making a Snowmouse and decided to give it a go!

The House Mouse challenge this week is a recipe (I must say, that this is a very cool idea for a challenge) to use Ribbon, two buttons, felt, and a scalloped edge. I followed the sketch on the Sketch Saturday Challenge and added lots of glitter to play along with this week's challenge over at BasicGrey Challenges....three in one...Whoo hoo!!!

I started with a 6X6 card base in red Prism cardstock and BasicGrey Wassail patterned paper. I coloured the image with my Copics and used my Sakura Stardust Gelly Roller pen and added a little glitter here and there on the snow, snowmouse and holly leaves and then spread it around with my aqua brush. This gives a really nice shimmery, glittery effect!!!

I used my MM ribbon slot tool to punch a hole in the image and laced through this gorgeous, American Craft, ribbon that I bought at Micheals. I can't get enough of this yummy, sparkly, ribbon! I have it in almost every colour....love it!!! I used my Stampin' Up! scalloped border punch and I cut two poinsettias with my QK Squeeze in burgundy felt and added a little more glitz with some diamond Stickles.

I took this pic while holding the card at an angle so that you could get a better look at the Sakura Stardust wash effect!

There you have it! My very first House Mouse card! Yay!!!! I may just have to get a few of these sweet stamps. The only problem, I don't know where I will put them. My scrapbooking room is teeny tiny and it's already full to the rafters with stash, smile!!!

Well, I hope you have a lovely day! I am off to visit my Mom and to get my hair done...time for a little trim and time to cover up the grey, lol! I'm so lucky to have such a fabulous Mom and hairstylist, all wrapped up in one, smile!!!

Thanks for stopping by to have a wee look!

WOJ Challenge # 7 & CCT #35....Domestic Goddess...like whatever!!!!

Well, I combined two challenges with one card again! I used the WOJ sketch by Heather and paired it up with this week's challenge to use fairies or Angles for the CCT challenge!
This card has put me through the ringer this week!!!! I really struggled with getting all the layers just so. I stuck paper down only to rip it back up again. I did that more times than I care to count and came very close to just "throwing in the towel" he, he, he...get it! Instead I decided to walk away and come back to it a little later with a fresh perspective! That seemed to do the trick. So, in the end I think it didn't turn out too badly!

I made this card 6X6 using Coredinations cardstock and BG Urban Prairie patterned paper. I stamped Melinda the Helping Angel with Memento Tuxedo black ink on Georgia Pacific paper and coloured her in with my Copic markers and add lots of Diamond and Crystal Stickles here and there. I inked all the the edges of the pp and used Metallic rub-ons to add a little extra sparkle to the distressing. Then I ruffed up the edges of some the Coredinations cardstock with my Tim Hotlz Tonic paper distressing tool thingy.
I really like that little shot of black that the snaps added to the card. The snaps were a breeze to set with my Cropidle and I really like how they look. I think I will have to pick up some more in various colours for future use!

Well, I have a confession! I'm no domestic goddess! No, far from it, in fact! Frankly, I think domesticity is over-rated!! Now does that mean I don't clean my house!? No, of course I begrudgingly clean it but maybe not as often, as, I should, *smirk*! That is cuz I would much rather make a card, lol!!! Well, I thought my new Vintage Women, Mellisa Frances transfers would make for a great sentiment for this card!

So, who wouldn't like to have Melinda the Helping angle magically appear and do the dishes or fold the laundry!? I know I would! Now, I just wonder if she can clean up my scrapbooking room for me too? It is totally wrote-off after making this card, lol!!

Scrapbook Acadamey DT project!

I was quite happy with how my DT project for The Scrapbook Academy, turned out and I thought I would share my creations with you!

I used BasicGrey, Offbeat collection 12X12 patterned paper , Elements Sticker sheet, Offbeat Olio Rub-Ons, fibres and glazed brads. I also used my beloved Melissa Frances rub-ons, my QK Silhouette and squeeze 2X2 dies.

The paper has a very modern feel to it and I decided to use the co-ordinating stickers and rub-ons for the focal image instead of a stamped image. I really like how they turned out...my favourite is the thank you card...the fresh green and brown go so nicely together!

Then I worked on my 12X12 layout. All the kids albums and our Family Yearbooks are 12X12. I also have a series of "all about me books" that I call "Pieces of Me" that are 8X8. I really enjoy scrapbooking about me. I have tried to jounal over the years but I can never stick to it so the 8X8 books are like my "photo Journal" and it gives me a reason to stand in front of the camera from time to time.

For this page I focused on my son, Kieran, the apple of my eye! He is such a sweet guy and a real ham too. He always has me crackin' up and I think both his sweet and silly side came out in theses pics that I took of him outside playing after school!

I really love this paper....well, I love all BG paper but I think this paper will be perfect for another great layout idea that I have. *Note to self...get some more of this fabulous BG pp!

I only added a bit of journaling on this layout that I printed on my computer and cut into strips. I also cut Kieran's name in the same font on my QK Silhouette! Now, I have to point out my favourite thing that I did on this page. I used the border stickers to be the ground as the orange things looked like the leaves of veggies poking up through the dirt. I stuck the garden marker with the beet on it into the "ground" and made a little puny comment..."nothing "beets" loving you!" he, he he...I'm really quit proud of myself for coming up with that, lol!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee look-see!
