I flipped the sketch that we have this week and used the super cute Pure Innocence Bear Hugs Stamp set. I coloured her with my Copics, cut her out and popped her up on the card. I used the pretty BasicGrey Konnichiwa 6x6 papers...one of my all time favorite BG pads!  I used the Medium Simply Scallops Border Die-namics and the Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Layers STAX Die-namics. I wrapped the card with some Hemp cord and added a Berrylicious Button.  I then stamped one of the sweet sentiments from the set on Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock with MFT Kraft Premium Dye Ink and cut it out with the Sentiment Strips Die-namics. Lastly, I tucked in a few "sprigs" of the Leaf-Filled Flourish that I cut from Sour Apple Heavyweight Card Stock with the Leaf-Filled Flourish Die-namics

Here is the inside...I stamped the shadow image of the PI Bear Hugs girl with MFT Wild Cherry Premium Dye Ink and used my all time fave Layered Labels Die-namics for my sentiment panel. The sentiment is from the PI Bear Hugs Stamp set and stamped in Kraft Premium Dye Ink.

I made two cards with the NEW LJD Embellished Eggs Stamp set and the NEW Easter Elements Die-namics. First up, I made a card with Patter Paper from the We R Memory Keepers Cotton Tale 6x6 paper pad and matted with Hot Fudge, Grape and Grapesicle Heavyweight Card Stock and cut the main panel with the fabulous NEW Die-namics Hexagon STAX.  I then stamped out various cute embellished eggs, sweet flowers and used the "chick's wing" stamp and die-namics to double as leaves for the flowers. I also added the wee chick from the NEW LJD Embellished Eggs Stamp Set on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock cut with the Easter Elements Die-namics. I used MFT Premium Dye Ink in, Kraft, and Lemon  Drop and used the gorgeous NEW Grape, Sour Apple and Pink Lemonade Premium Dye Ink that we are releasing this month.  I tucked in a few cute eggs and the wee chick in some grass cut with the Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics cut from Sour Apple Heavyweight Card Stock. I stamped the sentiment with Kraft and Grape Premium Dye Ink on Whip Cream Heavyweight Cardstock and cut with the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics.  I wrapped the card with Hemp cord and tied an bow and added a few mauve half-pearls.

I stamped two separate sentiments stamps from the NEW Embellished Eggs Stamp set and added a little Hemp cord bow.

For my second card, I used the absolutely adorable and very versatile NEW Woven basket Die-namics. I used it as my main panel and tucked in more Sour Apple grass at the base of the basket and inside the basket. I then tucked in the larger chick cut with the Easter Elements Die-namics and stamped in Lemon Drop Premium Dye Ink. I also added several large and small stamped Eggs and flowers. I cut out a few jellybeans with one of the dies from the NEW Woven Basket Die-namics. I stamped the sentiment from the LJD Embellished Eggs Stamp set on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock and cut the tag with the Traditional Tags STAX Die-namics.

My Favorite Things Stamps...January Creative Challenge...Circle STAX

Photobucket

Hello stampin' friends! Welcome to the MFT Design Team Creative Challenge for January! This is a monthly feature, where the MFT Design Team members are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create with our Circle STAX.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

Photobucket

I've been in a very scrappy mood lately so I thought I would make a layout using the Circle STAX and show how you can really make a great page with such a basic go-to shape.  The Circle STAX Die-namics 1 and Circle STAX Die-namics 2 offer such versatility and are an important foundational Die-namics set to have in your tool kit. Stacking various sized circles and adding open circles adds a playful feel to any scrapbooking page.

I started by picking one of my favourite pictures of my daughter and I. It was taken when she was 4 years old by my friend Chris Ward who is a talented photographer. I then selected some soft pretty MME papers, The Sweetest Things, Tangerine and Honey 12x12 papers.

Photobucket

I started by cutting various sized circles using the Circle STAX 1 and 2.  I used the High-Rise Alphabet Uppercase and Lowercase Die-namics from corrugated cardboard to and my daughter's name as the title.  The various sentiments are from the You Make My Day Stamp Set, Document It - Off the Chart Stamp set, the Lovey Dovey Sentiments Sets, Document It - Days and Dates and Journal It - Calendar Basics. I stamped everything with MFT Wild Cherry Premium Dye Ink.  After I laid out all my elements and had everything positioned, I took  a quick picture of the page and printed it out. Then when I was ready to stick everything down I had the picture to refer back to, to ensure everything went back in the right spot.

Photobucket

I cut the tab from the Accent It - Labels and Tabs Die-namics from corrugated cardboard and stamped the date with the numbers from the Journal It - Calendar Basics layered the NEW Heart Doily cut from Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock over the gingham pattern paper cut with the largest die from the Circle STAX 1 Die-namics. I love this sentiment from the NEW You Make My Day Stamp set. I stamped it on pattern paper and cut it out with the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics.
Photobucket

I love the NEW Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics and I cut several roses from Sweet Tooth Felt. I added Red Hot and Wild Cherry Buttons to embellish some of the flowers in place of the rolled rose portion. I added a red half-pearl to the flowers with the rolled rose.  Here you can also see a cute little element...I cut a circle with the Circle STAX 1 from pattern paper and then used the size down from the STAX 2 set to cut out the middle of the circle leaving a circle frame that I layered over another circle and the mini tab. I stamped the sentiment "I Heart You" from the NEW Lovey Dovey Stamp set on Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock cut with the round Mini Tab Foursome Die-namics.

Photobucket

I cut corrugated cardboard using the scallop die from the Jumbo Christmas Stocking Die-namics and inked it with Mixed Media Inx in Jasmine.  I tucked the layered scallops under the sentiment and added a felt Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose and added a bow with white cotton trim tied with red twine.

Photobucket

Here you can see the open circles...I cut circles from pattern paper and then re-cut them using a smaller Circle STAX Die-namics, leaving a ring or open circle. I made a simple little embellishment by layering two circles and adding a Red Hot button.

Photobucket

I love circle tags and I used my Circle STAX Die-namics to make my own tag that is just the right size to fit my sentiment. The sentiment on this tag is from the NEW Make My Day Stamp Set. I cut the circle with the Circle STAX from Pattern Paper and corrugated cardboard and then punched a hole in the top of the circles with my Crop-A-Dile. I layered them and then tied the tag with some red twine and adhered it with dimensional adhesive squares.

Well, thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee look at my 12x12 layout using the very versatile Circle STAX 1 and 2 Die-namics. Please take a moment to pop on over to Kim's blog for links to the MFT Designers with creative ideas using the Circle STAX Die-namics.

Happy Stampin'!

I just adore the super sweet NEW Pure Innocence Around the World - Netherlands Stamp set. I coloured her with my Copics and paper pieced her dress and hat. I pulled out one of my all time fave BasicGrey 6x6 paper pads, What's Up...love the purple and red colour combo! I matted with MFT Replenishments in Red Hot, Grapesicle and Sno Cone Heavyweight Card Stock. I used Repleishments Grapesicle Grosgrain Ribbon and Grapesicle Buttons tied with Hemp cord.  I created a little scene using one of the pattern papers and I added a  little extra dimension with a few clouds cut with the Jumbo Cloud STAX Die-namics and the wee clouds are from the You Move Me Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth Replenishments Felt. I stamped the sentiment with Wild Cherry Premium Dye Ink from the PI All Occasion Sentiments Set on Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock and cut it out with the Chat Bubbles Die-namics. I also cut the sweet little tag from the Christmas Ornaments Stamp Set from Sweet Tooth Heavyweight Card Stock and stamped just two of the XO from the All Occasions Stamp set to fit the tag. I adhered it and added a cute little Grapscile button tied with a hemp bow.

Here is the fun sketch that we have for you to use this month!

Photobucket

I decided to scarp some more photos from our cruise that we took on Royal Caribbean's, Allure of the Seas, this past Fall. While on the ship we went to the DreamWorks Character breakfast one morning and we had the opportunity to have our pictures taken with some of the DreamWorks Characters.  It was SO fun to see the various DreamWorks characters like, Mort, skipper, Private, Po, Gloria, Alex, Shrek, Fiona and Pus N' Boots around the ship. While on board we watched Madagascar 3 - Europe's Most Wanted in 3D and one day we shared the elevator with Po...that was SO cool!
Photobucket

So, for my page I needed to flip the sketch as I wanted to add as many photos to this page as possible. I used MME Ginger 12x12 papers and MFT Replenishments Heavyweight Card Stock in Orange Fizz, Steel Grey and Natural and stamped with MFT Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.  I used my Circle STAX Die-namics 1 and 2 to cut 3 photos and the mats from Steel Grey Heavyweight Card Stock. I used the NEW Document It - Off the Charts Stamp Set, the NEW Journal It - For the Record and the NEW Accent It - Labels and Tabs. I also used the Insert It - 3X4 Insert Die-namics. I cut the title from Orange Fizz Heavyweight Card Stock with the By the Letters Uppercase Die-namics

Photobucket

I also added several arrows with the Lead the Way Die-namics and stamped sentiments from the Document It - Off the Record and Document It - Captured Memories Stamp sets on the arrows. I also used the Journal It - Graph Paper Notes Stamp Set as the Stencil-styled sentiments were perfect for my page and I used the Accent It - Story Starters Die-namics and also used the letters from the Story Starters Die-namics to spell out the word "and" for my title.

Well, thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my page for this month's MFTSCRAP4!  I hope you have some time this month to get sketchy and scrappy with us! Here is the great sketch that we have for you to use this week!!!

Photobucket

So even thought this week's sketch has a simple design this card took me FOREVER...not sure what happened to my mojo but I was definitely suffering from some "stamper's block" on this one. I also revisited colouring on Copic X-press It blending paper and inked up this super cute NEW MFT Doddle Garden - Far Out Stamp. This one is probably my fourth or fifth attempt...the others all ended up in the bin. I am not totally happy with this attempt either but it is much better than the others...don't look too closely :) please. I will just have to keep practicing on the X-press It paper as I do love the results that everyone else gets with it.

Photobucket

I made the card with BasicGrey Lucile 6x6 paper pad and matted with MFT Replenishments Heavyweight Card Stock in Steel Grey, Orange Fiz and Sno Cone. I popped the NEW Doddle Garden - Far Out girl up on the oval panel cut with the Oval STAX Die-namics and the Oval Open Scallop Doily Die-namics. I added a Steel Grey Grosgrain Ribbon and a Orange Fiz button tied with Hemp Cord. The sentiment from the Doodle Garden - Far Out Stamp Set was stamped with MFT Black Licorice Premium  Dye Ink on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock cut with the Howdy Frames Die-namics.

Photobucket

Here is the inside...I stamped the Doodle Garden - Far Out girl again in MFT Sno Cone Premium Dye Ink and added the Open Heart Border Die-namics and stamped a sentiment from the Gift card Greetings II Stamp Set with MFT Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card for this week's MFTWSC106. Please take a sec to pop on over to Kim's blog for links to all the MFT Designers with cards today!
