Whiff of Joy # 73...A Recipe Challenge...Take time to smell the flowers!

Hey Crafty friends! I hope you are having a great week! It is Wednesday and that means we are a little closer to the weekend! I am looking forward to having the extra days off as I really need to catch up on some sleep and I am looking forward to chocolate too, smile!
Well, it is also Whiff of Joy Challenges day and I have to say that I saw soooo many gorgeous cards with Bev's sketch...wow you all really out did yourselves! This week we have a recipe challenge...I always love the recipes challenges, myself...we would like to see you use 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 papers...and please remember to use a Whiff of Joy image on your creation!

My card this week is rather simple...it is still growing on me, so to speak, as I 'm not so sure I like what I did here but I soooo love this sweet, sweet image!!! I'm totally in love with all the new WOJ spring Gnomes by Norma Fickel...they are absolutely darling! I especially love this one Girl and her Lamb! I'd always get a stuff animal at Easter when I was little and I got a darling stuffed Lamb one Easter, just like the one in this image, that I called Lambchop, smile.

For my card I made the base 6x6 from American Crafts cardstock and used this adorable 3 Bugs in a Rug paper called Savannah. I stamped the Whiff of Joy image on Neenah card and coloured it with my Copics, cut the image with my Nesties and left the image in the die and inked with Broken China and crushed Olive Distress inks. I added some Sakura Stardust pen and spread it around with my finger so there is just a light sparkle on the flowers and I added a few half pearls. I love this cute American Crafts ribbon and my buttons are cut out of cardstock with a QuicKutz die. The sentiment is a Kelly Panacci rub-on. I thought it went well with this image as it looks like the girl is holding the wee lamb up to take a sniff of the pretty flowers, lol!!!

Here is the inside...the sentiments is by C.C. Designs.
well, I hope you can join us this week and please go and see all the fabulous creations the Whiff of Joy Challenge DT have created to inspire you!
Have a stampin' great day!

Totally cased Kathy's fab card & a 3 challenge card...Happy Birthday!

I saw several cards by Kathy the Distressed Stamper and I was just in awe they are so super gorgeous...I am always so inspired by her shabby chic, Distressed and super cute stylings! I just love all her creations but when I saw the cards that she has been making lately with the Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint, I was totally in love and just had to case them......this card in particular! I wanted to recreate the shabby chic feeling of Kathy's fab card for a very good friend and co-worker who has a birthday on Tuesday! I hope you don't mind me casing your card, Kathy, I just love all your cards to bits...you are such an inspiration!

I used this Webster's Pages paper called Postcards from Paris and Prisam Kraft cardstock to make the easel card. I distressed all the edges with my Tim Holtz Distressing tool and then painted the Picket Fence Crackle paint on all the edges of the papers and Prima flowers Essential Shabby Chic collection....love them! Some of the flowers are the White Pillar flowers that I stamped with a flourish stamp and Distress Ink in Broken China. I also inked the edges here and there with Vintage Photo and Antique Linen Distress inks.

One of the challenges that I am entering this card in is Magnolia Down Under...this is the first time I have played along with this fabulous challenge...I don't know what has taken me so long the DT have such stunning creations and inspiration! They are asking for Stitching Real or Fake....I have used a Technique Tuesday stitching stamp and randomly added some fake stitching in Broken China Distress ink...it is rather subtle but there. I stamped Tilda on Neenah card and coloured her in with my Copics and cut her out because I didn't want to cover up the gorgeous paper!

I'm also entering this card in Cute Card Thursday Challenge # 105 Dimensions...to make an easel card or use lots of layers and Colour Create Challenge #41 Pastel colours of your Choice.

Sentiments are Melissa Frances Rub-ons and the ticket stamp is Autumn Leaves. I spritzed all over the card and flowers with Glimmer Mist in Iridescent Gold. I just love how subtle but shimmery it is....love it...Helen from Crop Circles in Peterbrough has totally got me hooked on Glimmer Mist, smile!
I have had a great weekend...yesterday I taught another great class at Crop Circles in Peterborough and today I played in my craft room and made a big mess with paint and my distress tool...and it was so much fun!!! I am really happy with how my card turned......ahhh, it's a beautiful life, smile! Well, Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card!
Have a stampin' great week!!!

Whiff of Joy # 72...A Sketch by Bev...Best Wishes!

Good morning crafty friends! It is Wednesday and that means another fun challenge over at the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog! This week Bev has designed a gorgeous sketch for us to use! Well, all of Bev's sketches are gorgeous and I always love the cards that I make with her sketches! I hope you can join us and I hope you go take a look at all the beautiful creations the WOJ Challenges DT came up with this week! Just a little friendly reminder...Please make sure you use a Whiff of Joy image on your creation! We have seen many very beautiful cards but unfortunately they did not have a Whiff of Joy image on them and that is a required to enter the Whiff of Joy challenge!

So for my card I went through my ScrapOnizers that hold all my WOJ stamps and decided to ink up this sweet Willow image that I just adore! I had an idea and I knew I wanted to use a Digi embellishment circle from the Shabby Shoppe and I imagined Willow playing...Ring around the Rosy...we all fall down!

I made my cardbase 6x6 from American Crafts cardstock and used my MME Mini Deck Garden Variety paper. I used my Kelly Panacci Stitching stamps and used various Distress inks to ink all the papers and stamp the stitching.

I wanted to use this yummy ribbon in my stash. I used my Fiskars Apron Lace border punch and some pink American Crafts cardstock...just for a Little touch of pink to tie in the pink in the ribbon! I stamped Willow on Neenah card and coloured her with my Copics and cut her out with my Oval Nesties and left the image in the die and inked with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I wanted this to be a birthday card so I added the Melissa Frances rub-on Best Wishes and some Prima flowers and pearls to finish it off!

Here is the inside...another Melissa Frances rub-on, a few more Primas and pearls!
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee look-see at my card! So I hope you can join the challenge this week! I know you will be so happy with this fabulous sketch by Bev and if you need a little inspiration check out the WOJ DT cards!
Have a stampin' great day!

Sketch Saturday #95...Pure Innocence Digi...Just swingin' by to say Hi!

Good Morning! I am just doing up a quickie post this morning to share another PI Digi card...I am totally smitten with this little Pure Innocence girl, let me tell ya! And I am totally loving the digi image thing now that I have a good printer and paper piecing with digi images is so easy, YAY! So, I used the great sketch that they have this week over at Sketch Saturday and I whipped up this card last night!

I Used BG Nook and Pantry, Bassill Basics cardstock and American Crafts cardstock. I coloured this PI Girl on Swing with my Copics and paper pieced her dress and the butterflies' wings. I used Tumbled Glass Distress inks to colour in the background...Gosh I love this new Distress colour it is so gorgeous...and totally looks like sea glass!!!

It didn't show up in the pics but I used Sakura glaze pen on her shoes and they are just the cutest little red patten shoes....love 'em! I added a few Prima flowers and had these stamens in my stash so I used them, some gems and finished it off with some blue velvet ribbon.

Here is the inside...both the front and inside sentiments are by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! The inside is from Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments set and teh front sentiment comes with Swingin' Emmylou!

Well, there ya have it! Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Hope you have a stampin' great day!

Friday Sketchers #94...Pure Innocence Digi...Hey Chick!

Hey! I slept in a bit this morning after a long but wonderfully fun day at Crop Circles teaching 2 Copic Classes. I was so inspired by the amount of talent and creativity that was all gathered in one room...it is so true what "they" say about teaching...you do walk away feeling like you learned far more than you imparted, smile!

I really had a great time yesterday and Helen, Ted, Cathy and Henry did such a fabulous job hosting me and all the ladies! I'm looking forward to going back to Crop Circles next Saturday to teach another Copic class...see the class samples and get all the dets here! If you live in the Peterborough/Durham or surrounding, why not join us?!

So this morning after I got a cup of coffee, I headed down to my craft room and made this card using an adorable Pure Innocence Girl digi stamp that I bought from Heather Ellis' Etsy Shop a few weeks ago. I just adore these PI girls and I broke down and ordered some the MFT PI stamps too! I was so excited to actually use a digi stamp stress free! I finally bought a new Epson printer and the ink is compatible with my Copics, YAY!!! No more fussin' and mussin' with my old printer and digi images...it is sooooo nice!

When I saw this PI girl with chick I just knew I had to have her! How adorable is she?! Perfect for an Easter card! I love her Easter hat!

I used the great sketch that they have over at Friday Sketchers this week! I made my card 6x6 from American Crafts cardstock and used BG Lemonade pp. I paper pieced this little girls dress and coloured the rest of the image with my Copics and Prismacolor Pencils. Then I cut out the image with my Nesties and inked with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I embellished with some American crafts ribbon, Prima flowers, BG buttons that I tied with soft suede cord that I had in my stash and a few gems. The sentiment is from a MFT Easter set called Eggstra Special!

Here is the inside....this sentiment and chick is from the Eggstra Special MFT set. I stamped the chick on Yellow BG patterned paper and cut him out and pop-dotted him!

Well, thanks for stopping by having a wee peek at my card!

Hugs,

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 22...Here and eyelyet, there an eyelet...You're such a Doll!!!

Hey Krafty friends!!! I am back with another post this morning! This is my Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges card! This week the super krafty and super duper sweet Michele has set the challenge...An eyelet here, an eyelet there...he he he! Well, I asked the "regulatory board" (aka the Krafty Girls) and we will accept snaps for this challenge as they fall under the eyelet category in the crafting code book, lol! I just made that up there isn't really a crafting code book...it just sounded so official and all, he, he, he!!!
From the KKS Blog....One more important note! **This challenge will be open until April 2nd! We've been so busy with all the new stamps (I know, poor us!) that we're taking a Saturday off from the challenge, so this one will be open for TWO whole weeks! **
So I hope you can join us this week and remember if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp on your creation and link your post on the KKS Challenge blog then you will be entered into the random draw for the prize, which is the adorable, Lola Da Vinci, that is featured on Michele's adorable card!

So, I saw this tutorial to make a tent card on the JM Challenges blog that Dena created and it was a lot of fun and quite easy and quick to make! I love how it turned out and my hubby Chris really liked this card too which was nice of him to say...I did make a few errors as it was my first time making one but now I know what not to do, next time, smile! I sent sweet Charlotte here all the way to England to wish my BG DT member and sweet friend Tara W a very happy 40 th birthday!!!
I used American crafts cardstock, Crate paper called Paper Dolls, American Crafts ribbon, Prima flowers and a flower eyelet, a regular eyelet and some jumper rings to suspend Charlotte and then I used snaps in the centres of my Prima flowers. I just had to use sweet Charlotte with the Paper Dolls paper and I used one of the coordinating stickers and I even added a snap to the flower on the sticker! Charlotte is coloured with my Copics and then I cut her out leaving a white border around her. I used a lot of Sakura Startdust pen on Charlotte and spread it around with my finger...she is very sparkly IRL!

I put the "inside" sentiment on the back of the card and I used one of the great sentiments from the Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments set and I coloured and cut out the dolly accessory stamp that comes with Charlotte and pop-dotted her....oh and a few more snaps!
Well, thanks for popping by again today and I really hope you can join the challenge this week!
The Krafty Girls have really outdone themselves again! They have used the eyelets in their stash in such creative ways...I am sure you will be inspired to pull out the eyelets at the bottom of you stash and use them on a card!
Have a stampin' great day!
Hugs,

So, I made an easel card from American Crafts Cardstock and used BG Lemonade 6x6 papers, as there a lots of Tutti Fruitti colours in this paper and I used this cute Magnolia image of Tilda with her Tutti Frutti ice cream cone!
I stamped Tilda on Neenah card and coloured her with my Copics and added some grass, sky and shading with Prismacolor Pencils and then cut the image with my Nesties and used Spun Sugar Distress ink and inked the background colour! I used a Martha Stewart Trellis border punch, QuicKutz dies for the tags and nameplate and Melissa Frances rub-ons and a Melisa Frances glitter chipboard heart! Well, It is Wednesday already....can you believe it? Boy, this month is just zippin' along isn't it? Well, it's time for a new Whiff of Joy challenge. This week we would like you to make an easel card! I love them they are so easy to make and look fantastic and people that I have given them to are always so impressed with them! I tend to pile on the embellies too so my cards can be extra heavy and fall over at times but making an easel card solves that problem! The WOJ Challenge DT has made gorgeous cards this week to inspire you so I really hope you can join us and just remember that you must use a WOJ stamp on your easel card! And don't forget that we are picking top3 cards and the top 3 winners get a WOJ Top 3 blinkie for their blog!
So, for my card I used Bazzill Basic Cardstock and this beautiful Heidi Grace Designs paper called Forever Love. I also matted with American Crafts Damask cardstock. I used some ribbon from my stash, some a BG Bling-it-On embellie frame and bling and the sentiments are Melissa Frances rub-Ons and the Happy Birthday sentiment is a QuiKutz Rub-On and the tag was cut with a QK die.
I stamped Willow Dressing Up from the City Girl Collection on Neenah card and coloured her in with my Copics, then I cut out the image with my label Nestie die and left the image in the die and inked with Milled Lavender and Victorian Velvet Distress inks! I added a little Sakura Glaze pen to Willow's jewelery for some shine.
Thanks for stopping by and having a week look-see at my card today! Please check out the other cards by the fabulously talented WOJ Challenges DT. They are sure to inspire you and then join us!

We are also releasing one of Annie’s fabulous paintings as a stamp....it’s Angry Ballerina! You’ll get to check out all the new stamps throughout our fabulous blog hop!!

If you want to start from the beginning, just head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie Challenge Blog! If you have come from Vicki's blog then you are in the right spot and the next stop on the list is Krafty Girl Andrea! Now, as you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stampers will win stamps from the new release!! And when you’re done hoppin’, be sure to head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie store, because ALL the new images are NOW available! OH and did I mention? Each and every order placed on Sunday, March 14th and Monday March 15th is eligible to be entered into a draw to win a 5x7 print of Annie’s original painting of Angry Ballerina!!

For my card I used Gwendolyn, one of Crissy's exquisitely gorgeous fairy images and I have to say that this one is my fave at the moment! I think the fairies have a very Celtic feel to them and I thought this one would be great for a Celtic inspired St.Patrick's day card for my Mom and Dad! My Dad is from N. Ireland and he will definitely be celebrating on Wednesday! He plans to go into Toronto and meet up with friends...I'm sure he will be frequenting some Irish pubs, smile!
So, I made my cardbase 6x6 from American Crafts embossed Damask cardstock and used BasicGrey Origins 6x6 pp as I thought the patterns had a bit of a Celtic looking pattern and I used a co-ordinating fabric tag that I stamped the sentiment on...this sentiment comes with Gwendolyn.
Gwendolyn and her beautiful horse are stamped on Neenah card and coloured with Copics. I used the "out of the box" technique to cut the image out with my Nesties and left the image in the die and used Distress ink to colour in the background. I also added some sparkle that unfortunately, isn't visible in the pic with a clear Sakura Stardust pen and a Yellow Stardust pen was added to the ribbon around the horse...it looks very sparkly and pretty IRL! I used this gorgeous green basket weave ribbon that ties in nicely with my Celtic inspired card and some green velvet ribbon.

Here is the inside...I printed this on my computer...it says Happy St. Patrick's Day to you in Gaelic! I think my Mom and Dad are really going to like this St. Patrick's day card!
Well, thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card and remember to leave a comment so that you can be entered into the draw for stamps from the new releases! Now hop on over and visit Krafty Girl Andrea!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 21...Just Bead it!...Butterfly Kisses!!!

Good Morning, Krafty Friends! YAY...it's the weekend and I hope to get some krafty time in although I should probably clean my house a bit too! That just isn't as much fun, smile! Well, if you are looking for a fun challenge to play along with we have a new one for you over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges blog! I am the hostess this week and I would like you to use beads on your creation in some way! So just Bead it! he, he, he!

For my card I made the base 6x6 from American Crafts cardstock and used this gorgeous Crate paper called Bliss that I bought at Stamping Bella when I took my Copic colouring class with Linda Heavens at the end of February! I also picked up this delish ribbon when I was there too in a few colours but I love this shimmery green! I knew I had to use it on this card with this fabulous new Fairy from Crissy's Cuties collection! This is Victoria and I just think she is sooo gorgeous...I love all the fairy images in this new March release...there are 4 new incredible fairies including Victoria!

So, I stamped Victoria on Neenah card with Memento ink and coloured her in with my Copics. I left the Nestie die on the image after I cut it out and inked with Mustard Seed Distress inks! So for my Just bead it part of this card...I decided to use some beads that I got at the dollar store a while ago and I strung them on a wire and then adhered them to the card with Scor-Tape. I added a few Prima flowers with these pretty green pebble in the centre centres. This is one of the sentiments that comes with Victoria!

here is the inside and the other sentiment that comes with Victoria! I just love this sentiment! Jeanne does such a fabulous job creating the sentiments for the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Well, I hope you get a chance to get out your beads and play around and see what you can come up with! The Krafty Girls have come up with absolutely fabulous ideas so if you are looking for some inspiration make sure you stop by the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges blog and visit the other krafty Girls to see what they have come up with! Also, tomorrow is our March Release blog hop and the release of all the new stamps...I hope you come back for a visit and have a little hop around with us!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!
