Wanna see what I made?!

Oh I went to the Copic and Pencil class yesterday afternoon at the Bella Boutique. The class was taught by the uber talented and very sweet Linda Heavens! I really enjoyed myself and bumped into some friends that I didn't know were taking the class. So much fun!!!

So, I now love my Prismacolor pencils!!! They just give that extra little sumthin' sumthin' to the image, don't they!? I guess I just needed a little push in the right direction! This is the only image I coloured out of the 3 used in the class...I admit it...I'm a slow poke, smile!

Don't look too closely now or you will see all my mistakes that I tried to cover in hopes that the untrained eye (my girlfriend) won't see them, smile! I'm not totally happy with the yellow shading around her it's too round and defined but not bad for my first time with pencils...love them in conjunction with the Copics and with practice it will start to look better.

Isn't she a cutie patootie...Meridith the Tea Cup Girl! I had to rush home after the class as Chris and I were invited out for dinner at friends house. So, when I got home I quickly used the supplies for this card that Linda provided and added in some of my own stuffs and whipped up this card to give to my friend to thank her for dinner! I used this absolutely scrumptious ribbon that I picked up at the Bella Boutique and I added the yellow AC cardstock scrap that was sitting on my table, a Melissa Frances rub-on and a bling heart! I also added a little Skaura Stardust pen!
Well, thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek at my class card...I had a great time!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 19...Buttons and Bows...Blimey!!!

Hey Krafty friends! Today is the day that I have been waiting for...I'm heading to Toronto to go to the Bella Boutique and take a Copic class with Linda Heavens. I am so super excited I think I might just burst, lol!
We have a new challenge for you at the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge blog! This week Andrea is the Krafty Girl to set the challenge and she is asking us to make card with Buttons and Bows! She has made a super cute card with EmmyLou and the puppies called Puppy Love...and if you join the challenge and use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps image on your creation then you will be entered into the random draw to win the Puppy Love stamp that is up for grabs this week!
Now, did you happen to swing by the KKS blog yesterday?! And did you just happen to read about a KKS Spring Stamp Kit featuring images by Annie Rodrigue?! And did you happen to see the super cute snippets of said Spring Kits images?! If not, you might just want to happen by and take a peek...here!
Now on to my card! I really tried to rein in my need to pile it on! I only used one patterned paper from a 6x6 MME glitter paper pad that I picked up at Micheals and kept the card design very simple! I am rather happy with how this card turned out...a little out of my comfort zone but it was a fun card to make! I really loved colouring this image of Polly the Bar Wench too!!! I took my time and tried to really do a good job of her hair! Not sure if you can see it in the image but I picked up a tip from Krafty Girl Michele and used my Black Glaze pen to accentuate her beauty mark and added some clear glaze pen to her lips for a glossy look! Thanks, Michele!!!
I cut the image out with my Nesties and used one of my new Tim Holtz Distress inks, Bundled Sage, to colour in the background! I just love all the new Distress ink colours they are just perfection! I used some American Crafts cardtstock, Prism Cardstock and American Crafts ribbon and buttons from my stash! the sentiments is from the Kimmie's Pirate sentiments set!

Here is the inside sentiment from the Kimmie's Sassy Sentiments!
Well, I hope you can play along with the Kraftin Kimmie's Challenge this week! Take a stop by the blog and read about the Spring Stamp Kit and check out the fabulous creations by the Krafty Girls!
Hope you have a stampin' great day! I know I am going to,smile!

Just Magnolia # 43...a Sketch by JayJay...Sweet Little Angel!

I'm back with another post this morning! I am so glad to finally get to ink up this sweet Tilda from the Winter stamp club set....it feels like forever since I had the chance to play with my beloved Magnolia stamps! Well, my very good friend and co-worker asked me if I could make her a birthday card for a one year old girl! Of course, I said yes, smile! I knew the perfect stamp too! So, I made this card last night using the great sketch over at the Just Magnolia Challenge designed by JayJay and I am so happy with how it turned out!!! This a fabulous sketch....I just LOVE it and I love this sweet Tilda even more now that I've actually coloured her!!!
I stamped Tilda on Neenah card and made a mask and stamped the Magnolia Butterfly grass. I coloured the image with my Copics and cut it out with my rectangle Nesties. I left the image in the die and inked in the background with one of my new Tim Hotlz Distress inks, Smokey sky and my all time fave Antique Linen.

I pulled out this 6x6 MM paper pad called Chloe's Closet that I had in my stash as I thought it was sweet and girlie but not too girlie! I made a 6x6 easel card from American Crafts cardstock and matted in blue Bazzill cardstock. I used the Chloe's Closet co-ordinating flowers and buttons. I wanted to put the age somewhere on this card and I had these die cuts from Daisy D's paper out on my desk as I had used the paper earlier this week so I used this die and I took a small circle stamp and stamped it around the number #1. I also stamped some zig zag stitching with Brushed Corduroy Distress inks and my Kelly Panacci Acrylic Stitch stamps. The sentiments are my fave Melissa Frances rub-ons.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek! Oh, if you scroll down you can see my WoJ Challenges DT card for today we have a lovely sketch by Bev...so go have a peek at that too!

I hope you have a stampin' great day!

Whiff of Joy # 68...A Sketch by Bev...Bla Bla Bla!

Good day crafty friends! It's Wednesday and I always get a wee giggle when the guy on the radio wishes me a Happy Hump Day!!! Yes, I like Wednesday cuz I feel like we are in the home stretch for the weekend, smile! I am looking forward to this weekend as I'm taking a Copic and Prismacoloured pencils class at The Stamping Bella Boutique in Toronto with uber talented Linda Heavens and I'm super excitied! I hope to learn a lot and finally get the hang of those Prisma Pencils!
Well, it is also WoJ Challenge day! We have a gorgeous sketch by Bev this week and I just love this sketch...will definitely be using it again! I needed a Birthday card for a dear a friend and I thought I would ink up Dancing Willow! I have been thinking about this card since I first saw this fun and stylish City Girl stamp! I Love the song Bla Bla Bla by Kesha (you can hear it now playing on my blog) they play it on the radio all the time now and Willow loves it too, lol!

I made my card base 6x6 from American Crafts cardstock and used what little I have left of this gorgeous Pink Paislee Pop Fashion paper and matted with Prism cardstock! The bling scalloped border is a Dollar store find that I've been keeping to use on just the right card. I used some of my a favourite Painterly Prima flowers with MM gem Brads. All the sentiments are Melissa Frances rub-ons!
I stamped Willow on Neenah card and coloured her with my copcis and used the "out of the box" technique and cut her out with my Oval Nesties! Oh I'm soooo excitied too as I got my new Tim Hotlz Distress inks and I used this yummy new colour called Bundled Sage to ink the background....love all the new colours!

Here is the inside...the main sentiment is a Melissa Frances rub-on and the sentiment on the QK tag is a QuicKutz rub-on!
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card and I hope you get a chance to join the Whiff of Joy challenge and use Bev's fab sketch! Also, make sure you have a look at all the gorgeous cards the WoJ Challenge DT have created they are sure to inspire you!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 18...Scene It!!!....Just swingin' by to say...!

Hey Krafty friends! It is time for another fun Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge and Krafty Girl Vicki has set the challenge this week! She would like us to create a scene with 2 or more Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. The Krafty Girls really stepped up to the challenge this week and made super stunning creations! Such creativity and ingenuity! I hope you take a peek and I hope you join us!

For my card I used 2 images from Crissy Cuties collection by Crissy Armstrong. I stamped Gone Fishin' on Neenah card with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured the image with my Copics and added in the grass with my Copics and then cut the image with my Nesties. I also cut a QK cloud from post-it-note and placed it on the panel as a mask and inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Tattered Rose! I them stamped Swingin' EmmyLou and coloured her with my Copics and cut the image out and pop-dotted it on the panel. Then I added a few smaller QK clouds punched from pp and a QK bee and two butterfly rub-ons. I also added a few extra flowers from another EmmyLou image that I coloured and then cut out some of the flowers.
I used BG Lemonade 6x6 paper pad and American crafts cardstock and ribbon. The sentiment comes with EmmyLou and I just put some scotch tape over the word Hi on the sentiment stamp and then inked it up and then removed the tape and stamped it and cut it with a Nestie tag die.

Here is the inside...this sentiment is from the Kimmie's Fun Sentiment stamp! I'm not sure if you can see it but I had these ant stickers in my stash so I added one little ant friend who is going to join the picnic, smile!
Well, I hope you go check out all the gorgeous and creative cards the Krafty Girls made for you this week! I am going to go have another look myself!
Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek!

New BasicGrey Challenges # 14..A colour Combo...Celebrate You!

It's Saturday and time for a new challenge over at BasicGrey Challenges! We have a very pretty colour combo for you to try!

I decided to start my Disney scrapbook with this layout that will be the first page in the album. It has been so long since I've scrapbooked as stamping has become my new passion and obsession but we went to WDW in July for Hannah's 10th Birthday celebration and I really want to make this scrapbook for her! When we were in FLA I bought a Lemonade 12x12 paper package I thought I better crack it open and get to work!

I also used American Crafts cardstock, some Prima flowers with BG Lime Ricky brads, some ribbon and a bling flourish that I cut up and sprinkled around the page. I stamped an Autumn Leaves label stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on BG Sunshine paper and cut it out and added the Melissa Frances rub-on "celebrate" and used BG Letter stickers for the "you". I cut a QK tag from the same BG Sunshine sheet and added anther Melissa Frances rub-on. I also used an EK Success border punch!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek at my page! I hope you can join the BG challenge and I hope you can pop over to the BG Challenge blog and have a look at the stunning creations the DT has made to inspire you!

Have a great weekend!

Whiff of Joy # 67...Pearls and Swirls...A little ME time!

Hey! So glad that you could pop by and have a wee peek at my Whiff of Joy Challenge card today! We have another great challenge for you this week, Pearls and Swirls! I really enjoyed it myself and I was so excited to use one of my favourite new City Girls, Willow Shopping. I think they are so chic! I was inspired to make a chic, understated card this time and really tried to control my urge to pile on the stuffs, smile!
Well, I hope you can join us and I hope you can stop by the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog and visit the DT blogs as they have stunning creations to inspire you! They will have your head "swirling" with creative ideas, smile!

So, I made my card 6x6 from this pretty buff pink American Crafts cardstock that I'm totally in love with and I pulled out ALL my 6x6 BG pads to have a good look-see and this Sultry paper just jumped right out at me...it was perfect! I only used two sheets of it can you beleive that?! well that's not including the paper pieced shopping bags, smile! I added some AC ribbon, a few Primas, pink half pearls and found these QK flourishes that I had already cut from brown cardstock in my stash. The sentiment is a Melissa Frances rub-on!
I stamped Willow Shopping on Neenah card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copics. I really wanted to paper piece the shopping bags with the Sultry pp and I used a little tip that I saw in a paper piecing video tutorial on Joanne B's blog Just a little something. I inked all the edges of the cut out pieces with Chestnut Roan ink. I think it made a big difference in how the paper piecing looks...it's definitely worth checking out her fab tutorial!

Here is the inside and I used another Melissa Frances rub-on and this adorable "little" Thank you stamp that I found in my Whiff of Joy package, yay! Now I think you all know how much I LOVE WoJ stamps but I also love the fabulous service that Katharina offers. I am always so impressed with how quickly she gets my beloved stamps to me but to also get a little extra something in my package is just soooo special and thoughtful! Thanks Katharina!!!! I love this mini-stamp! It's perfect for the inside of a card...I stamped wee Willow in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.
Well, thanks again for stopping by and having a wee peek! I hope you can join us this week at Whiff of Joy Challenges!
Have a stampin' great day!

Good morning Krafty friends! It's KKS Challenge day and our lovely and talented Guest Krafty Girl, Melanie, has set the challenge this week! In keeping with our Pirate theme in this new release, Melanie, has cleverly come up with "Stash the Booty" or include a hidden or secret component on your creation for this week's challenge! Sounds like fun, eh?! Well, to get the creative juices flowing the Krafty Girls have some fabulous creations to share with you! So make sure you go take look-see!!!! I really hope you can join us and if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp on your creation you will be entered into the random draw to win a new stamp form the Febuary release, Cutthroat Lizzie stamp, Moonlight Whispers collection by Annie Rodrigue!

So, for my card this week, I decided to use the the sweet new stamp from the new February Release that will be available at the KKS on-line store tomorrow February 14th, Happiness is... by illustrator Crissy Armstrong. This is such a sweet image and I just adore the puppies! Don't you?!

I made my cardbase 6x6 from American Crafts embossed cardstock and used BasicGrey Sugar Rush 6x6 paper pad. I stamped Emmylou on Neenah card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured the image with my Copics and cut it out. I had this cute mini-file folder in my stash and it was a perfect match so I stamped half of the sentiment on the file folder tab. I added a chipbaord photo turn with a BG Brad, some American Crafts ribbon and Prima flower and dollar store flowers.

For the hidden component...just turn the photo turn...

WOW...I knew Alicia would be a fan favourite! She is just too cute for words!

Well, this next stamp is equally as cute and it is from Crissy's Cuties collection illustrated by Crissy Armstrong and comes with a very sweet sentiment, Puddles of Love!

For this card I used BasicGrey Origins and coloured this sweet image with Twinkling H20s! I didn't have a yellow Twinkling H20 so I pulled out my Peerless Transparent Water colours that I have had for a while now and hardly even touched because they just seemed so intimidating. Well, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to use and I'm quite happy with the results. I used some ribbon from my stash, Prima flowers with BG brads and my Fiskars Apron Lace border punch! The co-ordinating sentiment was stamped on a Nesties tag.

The Krafty Girls have some stunning creations to tease you with this week and I know you are going to totally fall in love with this new release! Well, I'm totally excited to share this card with you as it features one of my faves in this release!!! This spunky young pirate is Alicia the Strawberry Pirate and she comes with her feathered friend accessory stamp, Alicia's Parrot! I love what Annie has done with Alicia and the juxtaposition of this "twisted" pirate girl with sweet strawberries on her dress! Just love that!!!

Alicia the Strawberry Pirate is the first stamp that has been produced based on one of Annie's original illustrations! To celebrate this, Kimmie is giving away a 5x7 print of the illustration, Alicia the Strawberry Pirate that can be seen here! Isn't that totally cool!!!! So, every order placed on Sunday, February 14th and Monday, February 15th is eligible to be the random winner!

I'm really happy with how the colouring turned out on this card...oh gosh I just love Alicia!!!! I added some cotton lace trim that I had in my stash, some Nook and Pantry brads, a few half pearls, Prima flowers and dollar store roses to finish it off. Whiff of Joy # 66...A Sketch by Jane...Hello, Tweetie Pie!

Hey crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by today! We have a great sketch for you to try this week by the lovely and talented Jane over at the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog! The WOJ DT have made really super creations with this weeks sketch and I hope you can give it a go! Remember there is just one rule, you must use a Whiff of Joy stamped image on your creation!

Well, for my card this week, I once again, pulled out this cute Valentine's paper pad that I'm just loving and getting so much use out of by K&Co. called KaZoo! I used one of the tear out Valentines cards too and teamed it up with one of the new Charlotte images from the Happy Mail release! I coloured Charlotte Kissing Pigeon with my Copics and cut around the image leaving a white border. I wanted a really crisp card and wanted the white to really pop so I didn't ink any of the edges of my paper! I know shocking isn't it! Well, this has got to be a first for me, smile! It was my own little challenge to break out of a long standing habit of inking the edges of my papers! I used some American Crafts ribbon, Prima flowers with BG Brads and a QuicKuts tag and rub-on to embellish.

Well, Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card for the Whiff of Challenge this week. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create with Jane's beautiful sketch! Make sure you can stop by again tomorrow as I have a little Kraftin' Kimmie Sneak Peek for the new February Release to share with you and I just know you are absolutely going to love this new KKS Release...it is just gorgeous, a little quirky, super cute and lots of fun!!!

Have a stampin' great day!

Thanks for stopping by again! It is Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge day and I have another card to share with you! This week Krafty Girl, Nana Diana, is hosting the challenge and she is asking us to "Be a Little Ripper"...ripping and tearing....what a great idea!
I love how tearing looks on a card but rarely think to do it myself! Well, I guess I do pull out my Tim Holtz Distress tool from time to time and do a little ripping around the edges, smile!

Diana has also made a fab card with Emilia from the SteamPunk collection by Annie! If you join the challenge this week and rip and tear up you creation and include a KKS image then you will be entered into the random draw to win an Emilia stamp!

So, for my card I used this sweet image by Crissy Armstrong called Shy EmmyLou! I just adore her and I had so much fun colouring her with my Copics. I also used this yummy K&Co. valentines paper called KaZoo and American Crafts cardstock! I sure am getting a lot of use out of this 12X12 KaZoo pad....love it! Again, I used a Shabby Shoppe Round Label Digi embellishment, American Crafts ribbon, Prima flowers and some roses and gems from Dollarama.

Here is the inside...this sentiment is from the Kimmie's Holiday Sentiments set!
