Just Magnolia Challenge...Heart and Flowers and Friday Sketchers # 87!!!

I hope you are keeping warm! It finally feel likes winter here! The temperature has really dropped and we have a little snow now too! I am not really enjoying it though, smile. I was getting used to the mild temps were were having. I won't dare venture outside today...I think I'm best to just stay in and play with my stamps and pretty paper,he, he, he!
Well, I made two cards this morning that I wanted to share with you! I wanted to join the Just Magnolia challenge, the theme is Hearts and Flowers and I used the great sketch that Jeanette designed for Friday Sketchers Challenge.

I am still loving this cute K&Co. paper that I bought at Micheals and I have been using my new found love, American Crafts cardstock and my old love, American crafts ribbon, smile!
I have been mulling over these valentines cards all week as I really like using the tear out valentines that came in the K&Co. Kazoo paper pad! So, I decided that I would use this cute Khaki Tilda to go with the Monkey valentine and I would use Jungle Edwin with the cute Lion Valentine! I coloured Edwin and Tilda with my Copics and cut them out and adhered them with pop-dots!

To finish off the cards I used some Prima flowers, roses from the dollar store, a QuicKutz tag die and QuicKutz rub-on and a little bling and Stickles!

Well, Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! Have a great weekend!
Hugs,

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 15...You Color My World!

Hey Krafty friends! I hope you are all set for another great Kraftin' Kimmie challenge this week! Krafty Girl Melanie has set the challenge and she would like to see you make an aperture/window card! She and the other Krafty Girls have made really beautiful cards this week, well they always do!!!! Please go have a peek at the Kraftin' Kimmie blog and you will be inspired! If you join the challenge and use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp on you creation you will be entered into the random draw for the Bird Fairy stamp by Crissy Armstrong, that Melanie used on her stunning card!!!!

I am not really happy with my card that I have to share with you today! This card nearly ended up in the bin a few times and please don't look to closely as you will see all my mistakes! I really struggled with making the aperture on the front of the card!!! But I do think Lola Davinci and her accessory stamp are totally adorable!!!! She is from the Moonlight Whispers collection by Annie Rodrigue. I coloured her with my Copics, cut the image out with my Nesties, left the image in the die and used Distress inks to colour in the background! The sentiment on the front of the card is from Kimmie's Fun Sentiments set and the inside sentiment comes with the Shy Emmylou stamp!

Well, blogger is giving me trouble doing up this post so I am going to make it a quick one! Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek! I really hope you get some "krafty" time this weekend and can join the KKS Challenge!

Whiff of Joy # 64...A sketch by Gio....Love Letter!

Good morning crafty friends! I am so glad that you could pop by! We have a new challenge over on the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog today and Gio has designed a beautifully balanced sketch that I just love and will be sure to use again! The DT has made just gorgeous creations to inspire you! So, be sure to check them out over at the WoJ Challenge blog and hopefully you can join the challenge too!

So, for this card I made my cardbase 6x6 from this fabulous new American Crafts cardstock that I've just discovered. I just love the fab colours and great texture! I also cracked open my brand new pad of BG Sugar Rush too and teamed it up with this adorable image form the new Whiff of Joy January release called Happy Mail! This is Charlotte on Carpet and I coloured her with my Copics, of course!!!! I cut the image out with my Nesties and left the image in the die and used Distress inks to colour the background! To finish things off I used some American Crafts ribbon, Prima flowers with BG brads in the centres, and some bling sprinkled here and there. Oh, I also pulled out my QuicKutz collection and used this cute heart die.

Here is the inside...both sentiments are from the WoJ new release and come with Charlotte riding Pigeon!

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek! I hope you can join us at the Whif of Joy challenge this week!

Have a stampin' great day!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 14...Time Passes...!

Thanks for coming back to see my Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge card! Today the uber talented Krafty Girl, Donna Wardle from sunny Australia has set the challenge and I have to say that it was definitely a challenge for me!!!! I sure did struggle with this one!!! Donna is asking us to "keep it simple"...that means NO embellies....NO flowers, No buttons, No brads and NO ribbon!!! Only hand made paper embellies and you can use your punches and stitching. Okay now if you felt a little light headed at the sounds of that, then have a seat...that feeling passes, trust me! Now if I can do it, you can do it too, lol!!!! Now, Donna has used the sweet Lavinia on her card so if you join the challenge and use a KKS image on your creation you will be entered and could be the random winner of a KKS Lavinia stamp from the Steampunk collection by Annie Rodrigue!

For my card I used the beautiful Tree Fairy image from Crissy's Cuties collection and the sentiment is from the Steampunk sentiments set! I coloured the Tree fairy with Copics and Twinkling H2Os and cut it out and pop-dotted on the oval! I used American Crafts cardstock and BasicGrey Origins 6x6 pp and my Fiskars Apron lace border punch!

Well, I did mange to survive this challenge and actually enjoyed it....you will note there is not an inch of American Crafts ribbon and not even one little Prima flower on this card, smile! I did attempt some faux stitching which is a bit wonky...just pretend like you didn't notice, lol!

Here is the inside of my card! I really did have fun with this one...thanks Donna for really making this challenge a tough one but lots of fun, smile!!!

I am really looking forward to seeing all your cards sans embellies and make sure you check out all the other Krafty Girls cards too over on the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges blog!

Thanks for coming back for another wee peek!!!!

Hugs,

New BasicGrey Challenges # 12...Animals...Puppy Love!

Good Morning, friends! I am so glad that it is the weekend! How about you!? Well, I have had a long and busy week and I could really use a little rest and some crafty time!
It is also BasicGrey Challenges day too!!! We have a "wild" and crazy challenge for you to play with...Animals!!!! So, I really hope you can join us! I know I had a lot of fun with this challenge and the BG DT has really gorgeous creations this week, as always! So head on over to the BasicGrey Challenges Blog and check it out!!!

For this card I made the 6x6 base from Bazzill Bling and used American Crafts cardstock for matting! The pp is K&Co. KaZoo and I just had to use one of the cute tear-out valentine cards that comes in the 12X12 KaZoo paper pad. So, I teamed this up with this sweet Tilda with puppy that I coloured with my Copics! I used a BasicGrey Pearl Opaline flourish that I cut up and sprinkled around the card...I just love doing that! To finish it off I used some yummy Caboodles Prima flowers, American Crafts ribbon and MM metal tag and heart brad! I'm going to give this card to Hannah for Valentines day!

Here is the inside! I was so excited to finally get to use this cute Studio G stamp that I bought at Micheals.

Well, Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek and I'm really looking forward to seeing your Animal creations! Oh and make sure you come back as it is also Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge day and I have another DT card to share with you!

Whiff of Joy #63 A Recipe....Sweet Wishes!

Hey crafty friends!!! I hope you all got a good start to your week! Today is what they guy on the radio calls "hump" day so that means we are half way done the week and the weekend is in sight, YAY!

Well, I have my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge to share with you today! We have two choices of a recipe for you this week! I hope you can join us and if you need a little inspiration make sure to check out all the fabulous creations the Whiff of Joy Challenge DT have made with one of these great recipes!

Here are your 2 choices for the recipe challenge...4 papers, 3 bling, 2 flowers OR 3 papers, 2 bling, 1 flower!!!

I went with the 3 papers, 2 bling and 1 flower recipe for my card! I used this yummy BasicGrey Indian Summer paper and used Melinda with Muffin Basket! I love this stamp but can you believe this is the first time I've used it! I know shocking isn't it...and shameful, I know, smile! I also used a few of the Whiff of Joy Spring Swirls stamps and a WoJ sentiment too!

I used some yummy American Crafts ribbon from my stash and some new American Crafts cardstock that I've used for the first time and I really love it! It comes in some great colours and I love the texture too! My bling are these cute brown glittery domes that I got at Micheals and 1 Prima Caboodles flower!

Just Magnolia Challenge...Thanks a Bunch!

Hey!!!! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I am getting lots of crafty time in! Chris just took the kids skating and to MacDonald's. I am enjoying the peace and quiet as Kieran had a friend sleep over and well, boys are just naturally a bit loud, smile and especially when they are having Nerf gun wars, lol!!!!

Well, I wanted to share this card that I started before the Christmas holidays and finished up today by adding all the embellies! I had the panel made up and the image coloured but I didn't get it done in time to send out as a Christmas card but I didn't want it to go to waste as I just adore this sweet Tilda! I saw that the lovely and talented Minxy used this same Tilda on a Valentines day card, so I thought I would re-purpose this card too! Thanks for the inspiration, hun! So, I have turned it into a Thank you card to enter this week's challenge over at Just Magnolia and when I started making this card I used the great sketch that they had at the Just Magnolia blog for Week 38!

I used Prism Kraft cardstock, Bazzill Basics cardstock for matting and BG Eskimo Kisses...I'm still totally love with this BG paper even after using it for most of my Christmas cards. Good thing too cuz I still have a ton of it left over, lol...well, at least it can be used for other things other than just Christmas cards!!! I might have gone a little overboard on the flowers but I love 'em and the half pearls too! I love sprinkling them here and there! The red velvet ribbon is American Crafts and the blue velvet is from Micheals! I also added some Icicles Stickels for some shimmer!
I stamped Tilda on ATS Copic Quality card and coloured her with my beloved Copic markers and cut the image with my oval Nesties! I left the image in the die and inked the background with Tattered Rose Distess Inks. The "Angel" sentiment is chipboard piece from a dollar store set and the other sentiment is WoJ stamp.

Well, there you have it! It was so good to finish up this "half-made" card! Thanks for stopping by for a wee peek!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 13...Flyin' High on Love!

Good Morning my sweet Krafty friends! Yes, I am feeling rather chipper and cheerful this fine morning, smile! It is the weekend and that brings a big ol' smile to my face and it's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge day too! Another fabulous reason to be cheery, me thinks!!!! You too will be chipper if you go and have a look at all the fabulously gorgeous creations by the Krafty Girls at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog! They have really put their heart and soul into this week's challenge,he, he, he!
Well, Kraftin' Kimmie, herself, has set the challenge this week and it's a yummy colour combo...Pink, Red and Chocolate...YUM-O!!!! We've also added an optional element to the challenge this week and that is.....hearts either in your image, your dp, a punch, chipboard, brads, bling, whatever!
Kimmie has made a super adorable card featuring Bonnie and Clyde from Crissy's Cuties Collection. So, I hope you can join the challenge this week because the lucky random winner will receive Bonnie and Clyde! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join the challenge, but in order to be eligible for the blog candy, you must use a Kraftin' Kimmie image on your creation. We are really looking forward to seeing your lovin' creations this week!

For my card I made the base 6x6 from pink Bazzill Bling cardstock and used this fun Ka-Zoo K & Co. 12x12 patterned paper that I bought at Micheals with a coupon the other day! I inked all the edges with ColorBox Chestnut Roan chalk ink! I add this lovely American Crafts ribbon and a few chocolate Prima flowers with BG brads. I bought a Cigar Box of Cosmo Cricket chipboard letters and shapes at the dollar store and have had it kickn' around in my stash for a while! So, I traced around this chipboard heart onto the dp, cut it out, adhered it and then sanded the edges with my BasicGrey precision files set, then inked the edges. I punched a hole in the chipboard heart with my Crop-O-Dile and add a BG brad.
Then, I stamped the stylin' Genevieve from Annie's Steampunk Collection on ATS Copic Quality cardstock and coloured her with my Copics, cut the image out with my Nesties, left the image in the die and used it as a stencil. I then inked the image with Distress inks and added a little Shimmerz here and there! The sentiment is from the Steampunk Sentiments.

Here is the inside...this sentiment is from Kimmie's Holiday Sentiments!
Well, Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! I really appreciate it and all of your sweet comments too! I hope you get some krafty time this weekend and join us for this weeks Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge!

So, I made my very first DT card following Jane's beautiful sketch! I really enjoyed using this sketch and will definitely keep it on hand to use again! I made the cardbase 6x6 from blue Bazzill bling cardstock and used this great Fancy Pants valentines patterned paper that I had in my stash. I stamped Henry the mouse hugging heart on ATS Copic Quality paper and coloured him with my Copics, then cut him out and pop-dotted him on the circle Nestie cut from the Fancy Pants pp. I added a few Prima flowers and sprinkled pink gems here and there. The ribbon is American Crafts and the sentiment is WOJ Summer Stamp Kit 2009.

Here is the inside of the card. I have used a Kraftin' Kimmie Everyday Phrase sentiment stamp.

I've used one of Crissy Armstrong's stunning fairies. I have totally fallen head over heels in love with them and think they are just absolutely gorgeous! She has really out done herself with this collection! This is the Forget Me Not Fairy. I stamped her on ATS Copic Quality paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copics and cut out the image and pop-dotted it. I wanted it to look like she was fluttering up out of this gorgeous bunch of flowers and has collected her own little bouquet! I added small red half pearls to the centres of the flowers on the image and added a lot of Stickles for a little sparkle!
I made the cardbase 6x6 from Bazzill Bling cardstock and used BoBunny Press Persuasions pp again...I'm loving this paper!! I didn't want to cover up the pretty flowers on the paper with ribbon so I used some red cord that I had in my stash, some flowers and lots of red half-pearls from the dollar store.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 12...Heavy Metal & Another Sneak Peek!

Good Morning Krafty friends! I am so glad that you could come by today and see another sneak peek of the Kraftin' Kimmie January Release. All the new stamps will be available in the KKS on-line shop tomorrow, Sunday, January 10, 2010! Today is also our Kraft' Kimmie Stamps challenge day and I am the hostess with the mostest this week! This week I challenge you to let your hair down and be a little "Heavy Metal"....I was a total Heavy Metal chic in High school, lol! Well, I don't expect any head banging or anything too extreme, like that, smile! Just add any kind of metal embellishment or accent to your card or creation! I really hope you can join the challenge this week, as the random winner of the challenge will win this adorable stamp of Cindy & Mindy Called Dance Recital and a coordinating dance sentiment stamp that I have used on my card.

So, as I said, I picked this absolutely adorable image of Cindy and her furry friend, Mindy called Dance Recital created by Krafty artist, Jean Grant. I stamped Cindy & Mindy on ATS Copic Quality paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it with my Copics. I cut the image out with my Nesties, used the die as a stencil and inked around the image with Distress Inks.
I made my card base 6x6 from Bazzill Basic Cardstock and used this super cute and girly BoBunny Press Love Bandit paper. I inked all the edges of my paper with Chestnut Roan chalk ink and then after the card was assembled I dry-brushed around the edges with pink acrylic paint. I added a Making Memories Vintage Metal accent and dry-brushed it as well. I can't seem to make a card without a few Prima flowers and I put MM metal flower and heart brads in the centres. To finish it off I added some pink tulle and a BG pearl flourish that I cut up and placed here and there on the card.

Here is the inside of the card. I used an element from the BoBunny Love Bandit 12x12 cut out sheet and stamped this dance sentiment which comes with the Dance Recital stamp.
Well, thanks for stopping by and having a wee sneak peek! I really hope you can join the challenge this week and make sure to pop on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge Blog and see all the gorgeous kreations by our Krafty Girls and I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge our two new, super talented Guest Krafty Girls Donna Wardle and Melanie Holtz! Cute Card Thursday # 94 and Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Sneak Peek!

Hello Krafty friends! I am back from my little getaway with my hubby, Chris! After Kieran's 8th birthday on the 28th, Chris and I went to Las Vegas and we had a great time but didn't win any money on the slots this time, rats! My feet hurt from all the walking and I missed my kidos and I am so glad to be back home with them, but all-in-all we had a great time!

Today, I have another sneak peek of the January 2010 release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps that will be available this Sunday January 10th and Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is the sponsor of this week's challenge over at Cute Card Thursday! The challenge this week at CCT is "NEW" so that means anything new that you got in you stash, new stamps or make a card for a new baby or new year!!!! Now, if you join in the CCT Challenge a random winner will get 3 KKS stamps of their choice and you can even pick from the new January release.

So let me introduce you to Emelia...doesn't she have it goin' on!? I wish I looked this good on our flight home from Las Vegas, lol! Emelia is one of the "NEW" KKS stamps by Annie Rodrigue. Do you know what Steampunk is??? Well, Kimmie has described it perfectly here so hop on over to her blog and learn more about Steampunk...it's very cool!!! I just learned myself from Kimmie's explanation that the new Sherlock Holmes Movie is Steampunk...how cool is that!!! I'll have to go see it now for sure!

I also used my "NEW" stash on this card. I used this Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Mini Deck paper pad and Earth Love co-ordinating ribbon that I bought on Boxing Day. I used BG buttons tied on with hemp twine and the sentiment is from the New KKS Steampunk Sentiment Set that will be released on Sunday.

I stamped Emelia and her airplane accessory stamp on ATS Copic Quality cardstock and coloured her in with my Copics. I cut the image of Emelia out with my Nesties and I have been asked how I colour in the background. It is very easy! I just leave the image inside the die after I cut it out and use the die as a stencil. Then I use the Inkssentials Ink blending tool and foam pads by Ranger Inks on the Inkssentials Non-Stick Craft sheet. I make circular motions well inking around the image with Tim Holtz Distess inks or sometimes I use Metallic Rub-ons! On this image I have used Distress inks.

Well, Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek at one of the NEW Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps that will be available this Sunday January 10th. Make sure you come back and check out all the fun stuff we have planned for the new release!

Hugs,
