WOJ #32 and Friday Sketchers # 54....Thanks for Being You!

Here is the card that I made today for the challenge over the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog! The challenge this week is a colour combo...Blue and Brown and I used the sketch over at Friday Sketchers for the layout!

I got this scrummy ribbon at Micheals and so I picked my paper to match it! I used more of the yummy papers in the My Minds Eye paper pack that I got at Winners...this time I used Wild Asparagus papers. The blue in the ribbon is more of a turquoise blue so I hope it still qualifies for the challenge. I used Shy Willow and the bowl of apples for this card. I am trying some new paper with my Copics. I bought the Bee Artist Marker pad at Curry's to try and I quite like it! I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it with my Copics markers. I ordered some new WOJ stamps and boy did they get here quickly! I used the Swirls...love 'em (they are on sale...just thought I would mention it, smile)!!!!

I Inked the edges of the papers with Distress inks and stamped the stitching with my Kelly Panacci Stitches stamps with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink!

To finish it off, I used a few Prima flowers, BG brads and gems from the dollar store that I coloured with my Copic marker to co-ordinate.

Here is the inside!!!

Hope you are having a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Cute Card Thursday # 62...Bit O'Bling...Bliss!!!

Here is a card that I made as a sample for a private Copic Class that I am teaching to a fab group ladies on Monday night! They are super excited and so am I!!!!! This is the second time I have been asked to teach a private class! If you live in the Durham/Peterborough area and want to get a few friends together and have a Copic class just send me a quick e-mail and we can arrange something!!!

Now about the card.....This Tilda is so much fun to colour...perfect for a class! I won Tilda in the Sea from my blogging buddy Kraftin' Kimmie in some fab Magnolia Blog Candy last year at the end of the summer! So, I pulled her out and inked her up....just adore her to bits!!! I am also entering this card in this week's Cute Card Thursday challenge....Bit O'Bling!

The cardbase is 6x6 Bazzill Basics Cardstock called Mud Pie and I used Bazzill Tangelo Blast Smoothies cardstock for matting. The pattern paper is from My Minds Eye Magnolia collection. I stamped Tilda on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copic, of course, smile! I added a little extra bling with some Angles Wings Shimmerz!

The yummy Prima flowers came in a RAK from my sweet blogging friend Judy and so did the ticket sentiment. The paper roses are from the dollar store and the ribbon is American Crafts from Michaels and for a bit O'bling I used a MM gem brad and lots of pearls!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Sketch Saturday #52 Colour Create Challenge #17...Sweet Wishes!

Here is the card I made with the great sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week. I just flipped it so I could use the rectangle in portrait instead of landscape! I also played along with the Colour Create Challenge as the colours combo sounds so delicious Lemon, Pink Sorbet and Chocolate! YUM-O!!!!
I started riffling through my patterned paper to match the colour combo and I decided to go with these Scenic Route papers again. I just love this collection! I stamped Willow from the WOJ Summer Stamp set on Prism simply Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink and masked her and stamped the beautiful WOJ fruit tree! I decided to make it a lemon tree...well, I guess it could be a golden apple tree too, smile! I coloured the image with my Copics markers and sponged the background with Distress inks.
The puffy yellow Prima flower is from a pack of flowers that I got at Micheals on sale...they're so delish...love them too! The pretty rose bud were the perfect colour and so pretty too! They came all the way from Scotland from my very sweet blogging pal, Judy! Thanks Judy, they are gorgeous! The sentiment is from the WOJ Summer stamp set and the pearls are from the dollar store.
Thanks for stopping by and having a week peek and thanks for all the great comments too! I really appreciate them!!!

Friday Sketchers # 53, CCT # 61, WOJ GD...I {heart} Sports!!!

Good Morning folks! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

I just wanted to update you on Morgan (my daughter's friend and our neighbour) as so many of you left such kind comments of concern and well wishes for her! Morgan is recovering very nicely. She is very stiff though but I am sure she will make a full recovery very quickly as kids do bounce right back! Many were hoping that this incident will be dealt with. I just wanted to let you all know that Morgan's parents will be having a meeting at the school with the Principal first thing Monday morning! The Police were also contacted and are involved. I have every confidence that the school is taking this incident very seriously and I know Morgan's Dad will know what steps to take as he is a Police officer, himself! Thanks everyone for you kind comments and best wishes for Morgan, smile!!!!!

Now to the card......I made this card with the fabulous sketch over at Friday Sketchers. This sketch is by Heidi and I ALWAYS love, love, love her fabulous sketches...this one just ROCKS!!! I also, thought I would enter this card in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge this week! The theme is..."A Sporting Challenge".

I made the 6x6 card base from some orange Bazzill Smoothies cardstock and teamed it up with this fabulous Cosmo Cricket patterned paper Collection called Lil' Man!

I stamped Oakley from the new WOJ Summer Stamp set on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him with my Copics and cut him out! I stamped the tree stump from the WOJ Spring set too and cut it out with my new oval Nesties, which I just love and don't know why I waited so long to get them, smile! The sentiment in the sign that Oakley is holding is a Melissa Frances rub-on. The twill says Just a note on it and it's from my stash. The for my Dad and plane are cut out from the Cosmo Cricket Elements sheet!

So, there you have it...another card with the new WOJ Summer Stamp set. I just adore the is lil' Man, Oakley! Isn't he just the cutest?! I was just over at the WOJ website and you can get Oakley and the other stamps from the Summer stamp set individually now so what are waiting for, smile!!!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

Just Magnolia...a Shaped card....Hope you're berry better soon!

Well, I was so excited about this challenge this week over at Just Magnolia! I have had this idea for a strawberry shaped card for a while and this week's challenge is "Let's get in shape" just the motivation I needed to test out my idea! I am quite happy with how it turned out and it was very easy to do with my handy-dandy Quickutz Silhouette!
This card is for Hannah's good friend Morgan, who was severely hurt by a bully at school on Friday. The poor thing had her shoulder dislocated and has several cracked ribs! It is just horrible what happened! I hope this card makes Morgan feel just a little better!
I used a strawberry Digital design to make this strawberry shaped card! It was very easy to do and I think it looks great!!!! I just opened the digital design, enlarged all the pieces at the same time to make a larger card, then ungrouped everything. Moved the pieces that I didn't need to the side. I copied the largest piece, so that I had two of the same shape, mirrored the second image, positioned it where I wanted it (above the first shape but with the tops of the two shapes crossing over slightly) and used the new weld feature to make the card outline. Then cut the strawberry shaped card base from pink Bazzill Bling cardstock. I then used the smaller shape of the strawberry to cut the front patterned paper and the inside. I then cut the stem portion from green Bazzill Bling. I saved the changes that I made to GSD file with a new name and now I can make a strawberry shaped card again!
For the image I stamped Tilda and the Magnolia Strawberries on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them with my copics.
I pop-dotted Tilda and the strawberries on the card and added the Computer generated sentiment, some ribbon, and BasicGrey brads for seeds! The inside sentiment is from the WOJ Summer stamp set!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!
Hope you have a great day!!!

Copic Colour Challenge # 14 and WOJ Challenge # 31...Sketch by Heather...Sweet Hello!

Just a quick post to share this card that I made for the Copic Colour Challenge # 14 and WOJ Challenge # 31 a fab sketch by Heather! I have to say that I took some liberties with the sketch but I am quite happy with how it turned out! I hope that it looks enough like the sketch to still qualify, smile!!!!
I didn't have the Bright Blue Copic so, instead, I used B12 Ice Blue and Bo5 Process Blue but I had the other two colours Acid Yellow and Cadmium Red!
I used this fab pp from Imaginisce A Shore Thing collection and the coordinating label sticker from the Jammin' Journalin' sticker sheet! I stamped the WOJ Summer set sentiment in the centre of the label sticker and pop dotted Willow on the label sticker. I love this Willow too!!! She makes me think that she just kicked off her flip flops and is going to dip her cute toes in the lake, smile!!! I added several "Shimmerized" Prima flowers with MM brads in the centres and the yummy American Crafts ribbon...my fav!!!
Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!
Hope you have a great day!!!

I made this card for the WOJ Challenge # 30...a card for a friend and I used the great sketch at Sketch Saturday!!!!

I stamped Willow on my Prism Simply Smooth Cardstock and with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers!I cut her out with my new flower Nestie and made a frame and pop dotted it and I cut the open scallop on my Silhouette! The red buttons are from my blogging buddy and BG teamie Martine and were the perfect match, the flowers and ribbon and metal sentiment plate and green buttons are from my stash! I used scrappers floss in the buttons and I didn't have any red scrappers floss, so I coloured the white floss with my Strong Red Copic marker!!! Cool, eh!?

GDT Whiff of Joy...Summer Stamp Set....Sweet Hello!

Good afternoon folks! Hope you are having a great weekend! look what I have to show you! My first GDT card with the new WOJ Summer Stamp Set...YAY!!!! All the stamps in this set are so totally scrumptious and I just adore the fruit theme but I think this one of Willow is my fav, for now anyways, smile!!!! I just love this new K & Co. paper...what a perfect fit for the new WOJ stamps! It's soooo summery...perfect for a fun, bright card! So, get your sunglasses out ladies and have a peek, lol!!!!

I stamped Willow with Memento Black Tuxedo ink on Prism Simply Smooth paper and coloured her in with my Copics. I cut the open scalloped border on my Silhouette and laced the yummy American Crafts ribbon through it. I am also loving my American Crafts Zing embossing powder! I used it for this sweet sentiment that come in the WOJ set and for the stitching on the border!

Here is the inside of the card! Again, I embossed the sentiment with the Zing White embossing powder and this yummy ice cream cone image comes in the WOJ summer stamp set! I masked it and layered one over the other and coloured it with my Copics.

Not sure if you can see it in this image but the chocolate sprinkles on the ice cream cones are very shimmery! I took a tooth pick and doted Stix2 PVA glue on them and then rubbed the brown foil over them! So there you have it my first GDT card...now I think I've stamped out the nerves now I can just enjoy and have fun with it,smile!

The park is where I spent my summers as a kid with my best friend, Fiona and her family, not far from my hometown! Now, I get to go back and share that with my kids! We make a point to head into a little town called Picton to shop and walk around the historical downtown but the best thing is stopping and getting a gelato...yum-o!!! I can't wait to do it again this summer!!!
The perfect paper for this card was my new BG Wisteria!!! Ohhhh how I love this paper and I used the Wisteria brads too! This stamp of Willow with Flower Basket from WOJ is one of my faves and used my new Oval Nesties that I ordered from The Shopping Channel!

Sweet Precious Friend...Thank you Anki!!!

I wanted to share this card that I made for my very good blogging friend Anki! She was so helpful recently when I had a mix up with my Magnolia Spring stamp kit order! She was kind enough to make several phone calls to Magnolia for me and straighten things out! It was so kind of her to take the time to do all this leg work for me!!! I was so thrilled when my stamps finally arrived from Sweden a week or so later!!! Thanks Anki!!! You are such a sweetie for helping me out and don't think my stamps would have ever arrived without your assistance!!!! This is what I love most about stamping, cardmaking and blogging...the fabulous friends that you make along the way!!!!

This is my fave Tilda from the spring set Chasing Butterflies and I just love the beehive too! I used this fabulous Scenic Route paper again...loving it, loving the colour combo!

I sent Anki this wee bumblebee cell phone charm handmade by my friend Kate! A few people have asked me if Kate has a blog or a website. I don't believe she does but I will suggest it the next time I see her, smile!!!!
I finished the inside too!
Do you realize I have posted three days in a row that is a new record for me! I personally can't believe it! Well, gotta go see who gets the boot on Dancing with the Stars!!! Unfortunately, I think Ty is heading home but he sure is a sweetie!!!!

Just Magnolia #4, FS #51 & CCT #59...Happy B-day!

Hey! Just a quick post this evening to share this card that I made on the weekend for Magnolia Challenge #4...In Stitches, FS #51 using the fabulous sketch by Carole and for CCT the challenge is...Happy Mail!!!

I am really digging deep into my stash lately and finding great paper that I have been hording. I found only two sheets of this paper in my stash but it is doubled sided so that was a bonus! I think it is by BoBunny but I am not sure! I used my Kelly Panacci stitches acrylic stamps and Tim Holtz Distress inks Weathered Wood for the stitching around the different panels. I stamped Tilda with "happy mail"on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copics. I stamped the sentiment from a My Favorite Things set with VersaMark Watermark ink and embossed it with some new American Crafts Zing White embossing powder. Then a few Prima flowers a little bling and some American Crafts ribbon to finish it off!

Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! I am off to watch Dancing with the Stars now! Go Gilles!!!! he is sooooo dreamy, smile!!!

WOJ # 29...sketch by Katharina...Thanks a Bunch!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!! I hope you are all having a terrific day!!! I am!The kids gave me the gifts that they made at school. Hannah made a cute little puppy from a face cloth, elastic bands, googly eyes, felt and some ribbon! It is really adorable! So, much so, that I think she is going to end up keeping it for herself...I just get visitation rights, lol!!! Kieran made me a card with flowers with little Popsicle stick stems that you can pull out of the pot. On them he wrote things that he will do for me like, tidy his room but the best one is "I will listen to you"...ah, bless him, smile!!!
Well, it is has been a quiet day for me playing in my craft room, the kids have been playing with friends and Chris is watching the World Championship hockey game between Canada and Russia! I can hear him yelling at the TV every once and while, lol!!!

So, I made this card this morning following the fabulous sketch by Katharina for WOJ Challenge # 29! I scored large the other day when I popped into Winners and found My Minds Eye 12X12 paper pads with 180 sheets in it for $16.99. I bought the Magnolia pad and Wild Asparagus pad! This paper is from the Wild Asparagus pad and I just love it!
I stamped Willow, made a mask and then stamped the basket on Prism Simple Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured it in with my Copics, sponged the edges with Distress inks and cut and embossed the image with my new Nesties. I used the largest Nestie die to cut out Willow so, I traced the outside edge of the die on cardstock and then cut it out to make the mat.
I used my new Flower Soft again (sorry but you are going to be seeing a lot of the this stuff...I just love it,smile!) to cover up the eggs in the basket now it looks like Willow was picking flowers!

I finished the inside too!
So, there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek!

BasicGrey Challenges # 34...Anthea's Fabulous Sketch...You are Amazing, Mum!

Hey! I'm so glad it's the weekend, aren't you!? I am also glad that it is BasicGrey Challenges day too, smile! I have been itching to share this card with you that I made using the fabulous sketch that BG DT Anthea designed for the challenge this week! I hope you can play along with us and I hope you can pop on over to the other BG DT members and see the beautiful creations, all so different, but all using this fabulous sketch!!!

So, My Mum and Dad have been in Florida at Walt Disney World this week on holiday! They get back today and I'm so excited to hear all about the trip! I just love, love, love Disney World! I wish I could have gone to see my girlfriend, Snow White! Instead I will just have to find out how she and is doing from my Mum,smile. I will go and see my Mum tomorrow to hear all about the trip and bring her this card for Mother's Day!!!

I used a lot of new stuff on this card and it was so much fun to make! I used BG Bittersweet papers as my Mum's favourite colour is red! I made the cardbase 6x6 from Bazzill cardstock and I followed Anthea's fabulous sketch! I wanted to use this Tilda as she is one of my all time favourites. I just love her little bloomers and wellies but because she has mushrooms in her apron I don't use her that often which is a shame really!!! So, I stamped Tilda on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock and made a mask by stamping her again on a post-it-note, cutting it out and placing it over Tilda, then I stamped the butterfly grass from the Chasing Butterflies collection and removed the mask! I coloured the image with my Copics markers and sponged the edges with Distress Inks. I cut out the image with my new Nesties that I ordered from The Shopping Channel!

So, I wanted to hide the mushrooms in Tilda's apron and I picked up some of this fun stuff called, Flower Soft, to do the trick! You get the best results with a PVA glue to adhere the Flower Soft. You can buy the Flower Soft glue but I used Stix2 PVA Glue and it worked beautifully. I also sprinkled on some Glamour Dust...very sparkly! When I bought the Stix2 Glue I picked up the Stix2 Transfer Foil and I used it on the little dots in the butterfly grass. I love this foil...sooo much fun and easy!

Here you can see the dimension that the Flower Soft gives to the card! I love these paper roses from the dollar store...I Shimmerized them and Tilda's wings! the metal frame I have had in my stash forever and it matched the antique gold foil I used on the image.

Here is the inside of the card....not sure how I missed that the sentiment panel was this crocked, smile, but I have since straighted it! The inside sentiments are Melissa Frances rub-ons!
So, there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and having a wee peek! Hope you can join us at BasicGrey Challenges this week and I hope you have a great Mother's Day weekend!
Hugs,
