Giggle, Laugh, Chuckle!

I spent most of the morning cleaning up my crop room. I really needed to re-organize my scraps box and purge, as, it was bursting at the seems. I think my scrap storage isn't workin' for me, sigh! After all the cleaning, purging and re-organizing was done, I decided to quickly make a gift tag, as, my son, Kieran, was off to a birthday party. I whipped it up rather quickly and used an already coloured image of Tilda with birthday cake that was on my table. I had coloured it in last week, when I made a card for my friend. Quite often, I have to colour two or three images before I am happy with one. Not sure if others do that too, but I am rarely satisfied with my first go at colouring in my stamped images. This one didn't make it to the card for my friend but would do just find for this birthday gift tag. Well, after I got that tag together, I remembered Kieran will be going to another party on Friday. So, I made another tag but I spent a little more time on this one. I am quite happy with how it turned out, giggle! I hope the birthday girl gets a chuckle out of it!
Tag and large flower are cut from blue bling Bazzill cardstock on my Silhouette. The inside tag is cut from Kelly Panacci Patchwork and the library pocket is cut out of orange bling as well, on the Silhouette. I cut a strip of Kelly Panacci pp called Giggle Stripes, adhered it to the front of the pocket and stamped stitched borders with Kelly Panacci border stamps. I die cut "Jenna" from QK Maddie Anne alphabet and traced it with my stardust glitter pen. The tab and candle are QK dies and I covered the candle in glossy accents. I used one of my new Magnolia stamps, Dala Tilda. I stamped her on Wausau Bright White cardstock with Archival Brilliance Black Graphite ink and coloured her in with my new Copic markers and pop-dotted her. Added more QK flowers inked some and others are covered Stardust Glitter pen and top-coasted with glossy accents. QK tag die, cut in green bling and I added a Happy Birthday QK Icing. Ribbon is American Craft.

A Meadow of Memories

I made this sympathy card tonight for a dear friend and colleague. I wasn't sure if I could make an appropriate sympathy card using Magnolia stamps but I am very pleased with the results.

I decided that I would watercolour the stamped image using Distress inks and a water brush. I used Kim Reid's water coloured Tilda card as a starting- off point. I was inspired by her water colouring technique and her use of the Cuttlebug embossing folder on the pp, really, the whole card, as it is beautiful, love her work!

I found a great inside sentiment on a website called {Simply} Sentiments . The sentiment was perfect to go along with Tilda gathers Straw (one of my new magnolia stamps). I used some old Making Memories pp that I think I got for a make & take at a crop, it was perfect! I ran a strip of the MM Vintage Rose Bouquet Crackle pp through the swirls embossing folder and inked it and the edges. I used Bazzill cardstock for the base and matting and WorldWind Cardstock for the matting and die cut QK photo corners. I printed the inside sentiment on vellum using Wendy Medium font and placed over the MM Vintage Small Rose Crackle paper. I stamped the outside sentiment from MFT Essential Sentiments which are in the Wendy Medium font...(I love that I can match the font for the inside and oustide sentiment) and embellished with ribbon, Prima paper flowers, MM jewelled brads and added glitter here and there with my stardust glitter pen.

Inside Sentiment reads:

May all the tears
that flow from you now
Bring forth a meadow of memories
of the one you love.

Taking up the challenge!

My very talented friend, Angela, has challenged me to post 5 random things about me. Sounds like fun, So, here we go!
1. I was a heavy metal chick in high school. Seriously, I had it goin' on! the big hair with the blondish streaks, the very tight jeans and the requisite black leather jacket. But i was still a "girly" heavy metal chick, i had the jacket with the puffy gathered sleeves, lol!

2. I am a migraineur and have been for a very long time...20 + years. Still searching for that one thing that makes it all better.

3. I love Disney World and my favourite princess is Snow White. I think I kinda look like her and my maiden name is White...too funny!

4. I have been known to play webkinz games for my kids to earn them kinz kash...what a devoted mother, lol! (really i just love playing the games on the webkinz site...Goober's Lab is my fav!)

5. I love cooking shows!!!! I can tell you all kinds of interesting things related to the culinary arts, like, what a mother sauce is, how to chiffonade your coriander and what to do with a salamander....just one little glitch though, I don't actually cook, i just like to watch.

A weekend full of fun and possibilites!

I had a great day on Friday scrapbooking with Dana. I worked on my second cruise album...making good progress with it. (I will post some layouts soon). So, it shouldn't be too long before it is done and then I will start on my Disney 2006 album. I would like to have it done before we go again to Disney World in May but that is just wishful thinking, smile.
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Technique Tuesday order and a few new Magnolia stamps too. I am very excited about my Technique Tuesday order. Oh, the possibilities! I was so inspired by the Technique Tuesday stamps and chipboard when I watched a video of all their new product, released at CHA Winter, on the Creative Xpress website. Check it out! Warning, It is about 30 mins but well worth it!

So, I have a Facebook page, like many other people. I think the best thing about having it, though, is that I have found my very bestest friend in the whole wide world after losing touch with her for a very long time. Fiona and I grew up together in Trenton but she moved away when we were only 11 or 12 years old. It is very strange, though, we tend to lose touch with each other for several years and then meet up again and we always just pick up right where we left off. Well, we have been trying to make plans and I think the possibility of it actually happening is very good!

I am still pluggin' away at stamping and card making. I am working on my colouring technique, this time working with Prismacolor coloured pencils and OMS. So, here is a card that I made today for Fiona...I can't wait to see her and hang (possibly from a crab apple tree)...just like old times!

and inside it says......

Simply Fabulous:HSM on ICE

I made this altered frame with the Speakin' Up! voice recorder from mypagestalk.com, i just love these voice recorders! I interviewed Hannah on the voice recorder about her favourite movie, High School Musical, of course, and the special time we had when we all went to see HSM on Ice at Christmas time. She had lots of fun recording her message; she is such a little actress!

This is the sample for the class i will teach at my LLS (The Scrapbook Academy,Oshawa). I think everyone is going to love these little voice recorders as much as I do! The possibilities are endless and it is so neat to be able to preserve those cute little voices to go along with our favourite pics!!! I used the Daisy Bucket Designs "Love you" co-ordinated line of paper and chip paper products. I was a little disappointed with the chip paper. I thought it was going to be like chipboard, it isn't, it is very thin. The name is rather deceiving i think but I still like the paper.

If you are interested in seeing all the great things you can do with the voice recorders check out this weeks webisode on TVWeekly. Christina Treu from mypagestalk.com demonstrates the great versatility and fun you can have with these ingenious little devices. I should mention that I just love the The scrapbook Lounge on TVWeekly.com. i look forward to getting up every Saturday morning making a hot cup of coffee and sitting down at the computer to watch the latest webisode, it is the best, especially on day like today!
